  1. theyre usefull for the 10 meters after it. then u can just speed up again. the average speed detectors are a better idea. you have to remember that if no one sped then there would be no cameras. so if you dont want them, drive at the right speed, then they: A. wouldnt spent £10k+ installing one B. would end up loosing money because they werent paying them off. there for not be able to afford to put up more. its your choice. you cant beat the system so play it.
  2. if its still running its not that bad, an engine isnt dead til its DEAD! can you change the bearings in the zed with the sump off? you can on most cars, maybe not the mains, but the B'ends are normally straightforward.
  3. yip, youl spend more getting them to fit, than it would be to buy a decent kit.
  4. a whole £60 a month!?! :headvswal i wish mine was even remotely close to that

  10. ye but id share information for nothing. to a fellow Z'r. dunno, maybe its just me tho. its only a car after all. ive helped others with loads of cars and would never dream of charging them for sharing something with them ive learned a lot from this forum, it is just stickers so i couldnt care less TBH. maybe the http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/subscriptions.php? should be updated as it is a tad mis-leading. keep up the good work. there are a few VERY knowlegeable people on here amongst the 'post count junkies' if they arrive they arrive if not who cares

cheers Scott, my bro will be Chuffed his reed nova made it on the site :smash:
  12. inside outside thermometers have a huge response time and will be far too laggy for that job, an RTD type temp sender from another car airtemp input would be a shout. but callibrating a gauge for i and it looking tidy in the car is another thing, a typeK T/C would be good bet. and im sure Maplin or the like would supply the T/C and a Meter to read it. being typeK it might be compatible with aftermarket gauges but ul have to check.
  13. if theres a flashing light, its a fault code in the auto ECU, you can do a diag, it takes about 2 mins from the drivers seat, might be a OC of SC solenoid.
  14. ye it took me ages to work that out with a meter. the wiring behind my bumper was horrific!
  15. if its only running on 5 cyl then its probably unburnt fuel smoke, it might just be a coil pack thats died.
  16. is the smoke coming out the exhaust or from under the car and blowing out back?
  17. on the nr side of the engine, its a steel pipe about 6-7mm o/d with a round glass on the end,and a schreader valve beside it. and the bottom of the glass the pipe comes down 90'deg towards the bottom. you might not notice the glass at first, the recess fills up with crap,
  18. im supposed to have them? i suppose taking them off makes it easier to see where the oil and water is pouring out.
  19. cheers, il have a look at that. see if i can make any sense of the voltage
  20. where? that will be handy for setting the timing

hi folks, it was nice to meet you's and put faces to posts, lol, i chickened out of the strip in the end, so i didnt catch up with u's while i was wandering about. glad i caught you at the end tho John, hope you get the car running sweet again. despite a poorly organised event, it was worth it, for £8 i guess, cos i got a free 'T'shirt. made a day of it and that was enough for me. luckily i went home still not wanting anything other than a Z, nothing else there really impressed me that much. (Xcept the AX sprit) but i dont want one of those.
