im still quite keen to go to Max Powder at crail. i think theres a crowd of us going down. sorry folks
  3. are u getting a spark? you seem to be going between the fuel and ignition systems. the fuel pump should still buzz as the ignition is turned on for the first few seconds whether the cas is working or not. and if your not getting a spark then theres little point in worrying about the fuel pump
  4. i think they inject extra air into the catalyst to help it heat up. im not 100% on that.
  5. cheers, i might try blending it in 50-50 for a bit just to sweeten up the regular fuel.
  6. can i run AV-gas on my std Z? has any one else done it and noticed a difference in performance? its almost as cheap as optimax now. im not sure if it still has real read in it, and may poison the O2 sensors and the cat. need to find out before i get some today Cheers

  9. it was the other night, i was in the blue one. i flashed a few times but u never took me on.
  10. so does de catting give a better gain than changing the down pipes?
  11. inner hicas balljoints 46 pounds each.
  12. could be the rear hicas balljoints
  13. to be fair, i dont think many franchise dealers would bother nealing on the plenum for hours losing the skin on their hands replacing the coolant pipes down the back of the engine, i think they would take the engine out. hence a two day job. depends tho, not that im sticking up for dealers. take it to someone that knows what their doing.
  14. blue hylomar for joint faces and paper gaskets. it doesnt set so if it falls into oil galleries it pumps through, where as silicone sealers can block oil holes and jets.
  15. loud and clear :xxx:
  16. you should never dis able a charged system for any more than a couple of weeks. if the pumps not turning it dries the seals out, and the gas escapes. so its a false econnomy. just remember to turn on Econ and run AC for a few mins every couple of weeks.
  17. quick, someone add this to the FAQ, under fuel pump diagnosis
  18. the injectors are only going to run dry for a few seconds, wont harm them. its not ideal to run out of fuel because its a pain in the arse, but its not going to damage the car.
  19. what are you on? mid stroke the piston is either returning after igniting, exhausting the gas after combustion or compressing the f/a. (by which time its already inducted the mixture) so running out of fuel at this point will do F all. i think youl find the engine stops pretty fast when it runs out of fuel. because the fuel pump is continuously circulating fuel and bleeding off what isnt required, if the pump draws even the slightest bit of air, the fuel pressure drops and the engine cuts out.
  20. maybe, but i cant see how it would cause over fueling. running lean, yes, but it shouldnt make a noise other than a light bzzzzz
  21. thats what the filters there for,
  22. really, how much?
  23. i dont use boost jets, but am i right in saying that in the case of the Z, using a smaller jet increases the boost? thats the opposite to every other turbo car ive ever worked on if thats how it goes... bleeding more air off the actuator, prevents it from opening the wastegate, i still dont see why using two adjustable bleed valves on the Z cant be done. its an adjustable orifice just the same, except you would screw it down to increase boost on the Z.
  24. electricians silicon grease works a treat. you can fill the gaps with it, its waterproof, clear, and wipes off with a rag. dow+corning make it
