washer pump
hi guys just had my windscreen washer pump fail, so i looked on courtesy nissan and got the part number 28920-30P10 which is for 4 seater front, however i asked nissan genuine who have advised me it's part number 28920-30P15 which lists as a rear washer pump for something else and is £20 cheaper, do the U.S. cars have headlamp wash? my car is a jdm so guessing nissan genuine have got it right using my chassis number but if anyone knows for sure please do let me know. got to wait 6 weeks to get it from japan anyway.

MOT passed
Mine wasn’t obvious, ballasts are hidden under nose panel, however with the extended strike up time of hids they are more noticeable. What I have noticed is on my Range Rover with factory hid they light up far quicker than any aftermarket kit I’ve seen.

H3 Headlamp Bulb Removal
got to say with my reflectors re-silvered in my headlights the 35w lamps were pretty good, not as good as hid, but could certainly see the road ok

H3 Headlamp Bulb Removal
well i did say to the tester what if i fitted genuine HID lights that were made for a later spec car, apparently that would be ok but i don't want to spend out nearly 2k to risk finding out it's still a fail.

H3 Headlamp Bulb Removal
well had my mot yesterday and the tester told me non standard HID's are a fail from the 20th may, they can tell the difference because of the strike up time of a HID, however i did say to him so as long as i have standard lamps in mine for test, can i reinstate the HID's a few days later, his answer was yes. personally i very much doubt old bill will know the difference between hid & standard lamps, so i'm just going to buy a pair of h3c for the test then put the hids back a few days later. i know my zed will be fine with standard lamps as i stripped and rebuilt my headlights 2 years ago and had the reflectors re silvered, however i can see it will be a problem for tarnished headlights and could still fail because the beam is crap.

MOT passed
well i think it's quite clear, aftermarket HID kits are now an MOT fail (well from saturday) i very much doubt old bill would know the difference if they stopped you.
-
MOT passed
yes he said if i had taken the car for mot after sat it would have failed, the new mot rules state that after market fitted HID kits are now a MOT fail, however he said there was nothing stopping me from popping in a couple of standard bulbs for the test and re-instating the HID's a few days later

MOT passed
well today has been a good day the zed passed her MOT with flying colours, so thats me sorted for another 12 months. good job i took in today as the new MOT rules come into effect saturday and as i have an HID kit fitted it would have failed, time to get some h3c's for mot time next year.

series 1 interior panels
set of series 1 JDM interior panels, including 2x front door cards (lower plastic cover that goes behind the seat belt is missing) 2x rear 1/4 panels (lower part only) 1x cowl panel 1x glove box lid 1x small panel by the glove box all 5 panels that go around the centre console. no centre console lid currently these have had the tweed removed and have been covered in red vinyl, this however has faded on some panels so selling these as a recovering project. i don't have the time or enough packing to hand to post these so collection only from cinderford in gloucestershire, or time depending could possibly meet somewhere but sunday & monday are my only free days usually, only pics i currently have are of them fitted to the car.

Any electronics gurus in the house? Groover?
There would be no easy way, you also have a chip on the new fob which is probably some kind of security, so not as easy as just swapping bits

JDM dipped beam bulbs???
The company was called invictavac the guy I dealt with was George, basically you have to strip the reflectors out and send them with cash payment I think if was £130 for all 4 reflectors it took about 2 weeks at the time. Just email with reflector sizes and a pic and he'll quote you

JDM dipped beam bulbs???
i referbed my headlights last year and had all the reflectors re-silvered or vacuum metalised as it's called, when i initially fitted them one of my hids broke so i used the 35w h3c as i had a couple, and the lights were fantastic, it showed just how bad the reflectors can go. i've now got 4200k hid's in and the lights now are as good as any new car

Turbo coolant delete
both of those pipes are the feed to/from the turbo

Plenum off - couple of questions
no the bit in the plenum is a valve, but the pipe has a restricter i presume to stop it sucking to much air through the crankcase, as with the z1 hoses in the link below. https://www.z1motorsports.com/z1-products/z1-motorsports/z1-silicone-pcv-hose-left-p-3417.html

speedo cluster differences
yes very strange indeed, i've just found another thread from some years back that confirms my clocks are 1991 uk clocks as the ones in the thread are the same as mine, the JDM clocks are as mine, i know there were 2 different clock manufacturers so perhaps thats the key. however it turns out i can swap the uk guts into the JDM cluster, so a little more work but not impossible. https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?178477-speedo-fitment&highlight=speedo

speedo cluster differences
yes my car is a '91

speedo cluster differences
hmm not sure all the references i'm finding to uk clusters are the same as the one i have, however looking at the aus 300zx site mine is the same as their 89-92 cluster, i suppose the other option is to swap gauges etc to my JDM cluster
-
speedo cluster differences
so my uk clocks have arrived and there seems to be one plug different to what is on the car, i have a 12 way socket on the gauges, but only a 8 way plug on the car, do i need to change the plug or can i just connect it up? i just don't want to go and plug anything in and damage something. looking at the extra pins on the socket they look to be mainly grounds that are connected elsewhere. the uk clocks came off an early car. Plenum off - couple of questions
pcvs you need the proper hoses to replace the ones you have cut as they have a restrictor fitted in the pipe

instrument cluster
mines s1 jap, and the clocks are uk, i have found out that the odometer is different between jap & uk. apparently one has a black cog the other has a blue cog which differentiates between km & miles
-
instrument cluster
ok moving on from yesterday i've just had a lucky find and bought some uk clocks, there is quite a considerable difference in mileage though, mine are on 69,000 miles and the one i have bought are up on 200,000. now i've been looking at both sets online and the connector on the odometer/trip counter both look the same, is it possible to fit my odometer from jdm kmh clocks into the uk clocks or would they register mileage wrong? if thats the case could the motor be swapped as i notice it's only screwed on the back of the odometer unit.
