headlight moisture
I've had them back off this afternoon and checked them it seems the bottom edge and corner is slightly misshaped on one where the headlights had been dismantled before I bought them so after I had clipped/clamped them back together because I used butyl rubber sealer rather than the grey original it says slightly flexible so the gap reopened. just had the first one apart and applied some extra sealant across the bottom edge & corner and reheated it, it's now clamped up correctly and i'm going to run some silicone around the edge of the glass to make extra sure it's sealed. i'll look at the 2nd one tomorrow

headlight moisture
I've just refurbed my headlights, and i'm now beginning to notice moisture forming on the inside of the headlight glass while the lights are on. this disappears within a few hours after turning headlights off, I put extra silica gel bags inside the headlights along with the original silica tablets when I reassembled the lights. i'm thinking the worse and it could be the seal around the glass maybe? although I did make sure this was heated and a good amount of seal oozed to the glass edge. i'm running HID's but the problem is also there with standard h3c lamps in.

Where to get electrical connectors
bought all my connectors from the u.s as part of a bigger order, the yellow ones i bought from mike at MJP on the traders section here, the blue connectors are only made by one company in the U.S, i think i bought injector connectors at the same time. concept-z list them on eBay but don't specify uk postage http://stores.ebay.co.uk/conceptzperformance/

What did you do to your zed today?
just a cheap mod today, i wired up the rear bumper corner markers, i did this by buying 10x 10mm superbright white leds for less than £5 i only needed 2, drilled a 10mm hole in the markers and wired them to the side lights

What did you do to your zed today?
well nothing on the zed today, i did however fit my refurbed headlights yesterday, and as a base broke on one of the hid's i had to order a new pair of 4300k lamps to go in, today however i bit the bullet and pulled out my polished plenum, and noticed it starting to loose it's shine, so i took it to the powder coaters along with the spare front water pipes i have in the garage, i was looking at a sparkle silver or shadow chrome which they don't stock. i had a choice of several other colours though, including samco blue, i however decided on gloss black which i think should look ok.

polished plenum
yes i was thinking maybe a silver sparkle or shadow chrome, if i go powder coat as i've still got blue rocker covers to go on and don't want everything blue, i like the look of a polished plenum but don't want the constant upkeep and it's not the easiest thing to polish once everything is bolted on. and over winter storage i can imagine will be a right P.I.T.A. luckily i've got a powder coating company 5 mins down the road from me may pay them a visit tomorrow.

polished plenum
hi guys, i've had a polished plenum & Throttle bodies here for a while waiting to fit to the car which is being done just after xmas hopefully, but i'm kind of reconsidering my options, how much upkeep does a polished plenum require? i don't want to be polishing it every few weeks to keep it shiny when i'd rather be out driving the car, i currently use belgom alu on polished bits and it tends to last quite well i can get away with polishing every few months but thats stainless bits not alloy. my other option is to get it powder coated which i'm guessing will be a lot easier to keep up together in which case i'd either go for shadow chrome or silver. any tips?

What did you do to your zed today?
and here is my little project for today finished, stripped the headlights back to bare casings several weeks ago, had the reflectors resilvered, cleaned all the internals, fitted the tamiya gears to the adjusters, and reassembled today, didn't use the original grey sealant though as it's gone manky & dirty looking so bought butyl rubber sealant which is used on modern headlight units. so all I'm all a very satisfying job to do, plus once fitted i should be able to see at night lol

What did you do to your zed today?
today i am rebuilding headlights, just had the reflectors back for my spare set resilvered, so today i replace the gears on the adjusters and build the units back up to go on the car, pics later!

what a difference
2 £6 parts can make, had the annoying tailgate rattle for a while so i placed a couple of small pieces of vinyl from my retrim under each one as a test and it reduced it considerably. so i bit the bullet and bought 2 new tailgate bump stop rubbers, the difference, was quite a surprise the old rubbers had gone hard where the new ones are pretty soft but where the old ones have compressed there was a 4-5mm height difference between new & old. result is no more tailgate rattle! part number for the rubbers is 90878-30P02 if you are thinking of changing them.

Sill replacement
Beat me to it cheers Jeff and thanks for recommending guy to sort my zed earlier this year, certainly did a top job

What did you do to your zed today?
well yesterday i started to tackle my inner wings which were starting to look bad and were grubby, plus i had rust around the holes where the plastic arch liner clips came through so a rub down, coat of zinc primer then 3 coats of satin black has tidied them up, hopefully weather permitting i can get it finished tomorrow

AMS Sale
for those of you that haven't directly visited the AMS motorsports website, they currently have a bit of a sale on, i've just bought a brake master cylinder brace for $24, carbon ceramic front brake pads for $24 rear carbon pads for $19, full egr delete kit for $10 and a couple of shiny bits, on top of this shipping was a very reasonable $55 compare to $99 i was quoted for Z1 for same items, and the extra bonus they only put $50 value on the customs label so no import duty or vat to pay. and it arrived quickly too, ordered monday evening last week, turned up tuesday morn by royal mail. typically i've just noticed they now have braided brake lines on sale, all 4 for $39! the website is http://www.amsmotorsports.com
