  1. it will most likely be in the club faq section
  2. this site only covers the 300zx z32 from 1989, you have a z31 jo.
  3. when I repaired the green plug on mine, I removed the wires from both plug & socket and joined them with a new piece of wire soldered in.
  4. it's documented, that at higher power the stronger spark from these upgraded coils stop spark blow out, they give a spark at 42k where standard coil packs only give 21k, but we are talking 700bhp+. however they do also eliminate the PTU which some see as a weak point of the system.
  5. I spoke to someone running a similar set up a few weeks back that he said seemed to be ok, Audi rs8 I think is another kit you can buy but they require a mod to get the coil packs out without removing the plenum. I think it's z-shack are in the process of making brackets to suit a coil pack change.
  6. it could be the connector in the passenger footwell, where the wooden floor cover is over the Ecu, there will be some connector plugs to the upper left, the large (green I think) multi plug suffers corrosion, especially if you have had targa leaks in that area. had to bypass some of the connector on mine, because one headlight wasn't working and the horn also wasn't working. just check you have voltage to the 'switching' contacts on the relays (pins 1&2 I think). the pins will be indicated on the relay by a picture of a coil between the 2 pins. dim dip I believe the unit for that is in the passenger wheel arch from memory, but was probably bypassed when the hid kits were fitted.
  7. I’m all aware of vendors saying they have stock, had that with z1 and currently with concept z, I’ve checked z1, concept z & ams for pcv hoses and none of them are flouro lined, I’m currently waiting a reply from an email to sfs.
  8. Just a general question, has anybody used the sfs performance silicone pcv hose kit? I was wondering if you knew they are flouro lined to stop the oil bleeding through the hose walls. I currently have z1 silicone hoses on, they have been on the car 6/7 years, but I’ve noticed this morning oil leaking through the hose walls.
  9. I'm off to see him in a few weeks I'll ask him
  10. so I'm getting all the little niggly jobs done on the zed and I have a power steering leak, am I right in thinking it's the high pressure hose (from the pump to the rack) is the most common leak point? jimmer did say to me which pipe it was, but that was 3 or 4 years ago. anyhow if this is the case where is the best place to get one from? I see AMS do an aftermarket kevlar version and z1 do a rebuild option but that has a $250 core charge attached or I can get one rebuilt in the uk for around £80. which option are you all using ?
  11. yes but they have listed items & part numbers in the description, I thought it could be handy for someone.
  12. just been having a look on ebay, and there is now a seller in Japan listing loads of JDM brand new parts, they have loads listed, not compared availability to endow services but it maybe of help to someone on here, link to their webshop. https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/wwwisicarcom?ssPageName=STRK:MEFSX:SELLERID&_trksid=p3984.m1543.l2533
  13. yep that's the one, it looks almost identical to the ones z1 were selling (part from the z1 units were black) so I wonder if the guy was selling them cheap then realised what z1 were charging.
  14. thanks Andrew, I contacted the Japanese company when they posted the condensers on Facebook, unfortunately they said they do not ship to the uk. as for daz's comment CZP no longer lists the after market condensers and Z1 have been out of stock of them for nearly 18months. however I found a company in the USA selling them which is a last ditch attempt if needed, they used to list on ebay uk, but now only list on ebay.com. they sell for $295 plus $125 shipping, that of course plus vat & import duty. I have also had another ray of light, I've spoken to a company here in the uk who have said they can most likely find a universal condenser from stock which will fit but will need brackets making to suit and pipe work modified to suit, I'm waiting for a price on this so I can speak to my air con guy to see how much the pipe work modifications would cost, they have also said they can build one from scratch and the cost for this would be around £360 with 3-4 weeks turnaround. I'll then need to source a dryer but I believe there some universal ones that fit.
  15. hi guys, my zircon condenser was detected with a leak a couple of years ago and I have never got round to fixing it, anyhow with time on my hands at the mo I thought it would be quite nice t get it working again. so it turns out Z1 haven't had any of their replacements in stock for a long time, Nissan is NLA on all the part numbers available, and I found Prasco listed them which were made by Ava cooling (there are a couple of car part suppliers showing up in google ads charging £900 for them) so I contacted both Prasco & Ava cooling direct, Prasco have no stock and Ava cooling have advised me they no longer make them. I have a used condenser I bought, but I don't want to fit it as is because I don't know how long it will last, anyway onto my question has anyone had a condenser rebuilt or refurbed in the uk and can recommend anyone to carry out the work? or a universal condenser that will fit? I asked a company a couple of years back and they said they had trouble getting condensers for the 300zx but could rebuild mine for £500!
  16. just to put this to bed, I found the resistor had come loose in the det sensor connector, so I cut the plug of the det sensor sub harness, soldered the resistor into that and reconnected, I reset the code, started the car a few times and the code hasn't returned.
  17. cheers Jeff, I may have a look tomorrow.
  18. well today I had one job..............nailed it! only thin I changed was the supplied "anti rust" bolts were just standard bolts, so I used stainless fittings instead. it now means I have a brand new oem rear under tray which I will advertise later.
  19. are you sure you have the det sensor wire? there is a 02 sensor plug I believe in the same area, it's not uncommon for the 2 to be mixed up if they get unplugged for work.
  20. cool another job for when I visit jimmer then lol
  21. hi guys, connected my data scan to the car today to check for error codes, and it's showing det sensor as being a problem. Jeff at zed world bypassed mine around 7 years ago and fitted a resistor in the wiring plug. the resistor is still in place, so any ideas what the problem may be? I cleared the code and it came straight back.
  22. No paperwork on the boxes, was delivered by fedex who usually in the past has held the goods until charges were paid. But this time, z1 despatched last Monday, they were on my doorstep last Thursday. I’ll wait and see if I get a letter for duty
  23. I'm off to see jimmer soon for a set of plugs and oil change, but that's a good price. re-gapped mine today as a temporary fix as they had 70 thou gap!
  24. cheers fella, looks like a job for this week. I've just had the full Ali belly pan set delivered from z1 (very surprised there was no vat or import duty charge), anyhow the 'rustproof' fasteners they claim to supply are just painted steel bolts. is have now ordered a set of stainless steel bolts. anyhow on mine the centre one has broken off with half a stump, it's not enough to get onto, but I'm probably going to try a bolt extractor first and see if it shifts, if not I'll be drilling them out. luckily I have all bases covered, I have fir tree fixings, helicoil kit and m6 riv-nuts to hand so one way or another I'll get it to work.
  25. I have got it to kind of work but if you open anything from the initial splash screen, it won't close windows 10 prevents it writing to the log.
