  1. Well this isn't good news, I haven't had time to look at it since, but hopefully over the weekend I'll get chance to find out a little more, I think it's going to have to go up on the lift and scope out the turbo. If the engine is coming out I'll have to think of some other bits that could be done at the same time to warrant such a job. would probably make changing the lamda's a little easier so they'll be on the 'to do' list. I'm scarred to drive it though now, I have visions of it melting a fuel line and setting my engine bay of fire, I've got an extinguisher in the boot but it's probably as old as the car.
  2. Ah I see. Is a nice bit of kit, bet there aren't many about now.
  3. They look cool, but the ones in the advert are a slight red it apears. What colour are your's Lee?
  4. After a drive last night it may of taken a beating and after starting it back up I noticed it sounded a little louder at the front, so popped the bonnet and tried blipping the throttle and it sounds like it's blowing from under the battery somewhere. I'm assuming this would be the manifold? guessing the gaskets blown out, a bolts snapped or its cracked. Or could it be on the turbo side? Either way anybody had anything similar happen? How much of a challenge is this going to be? I really don't want to take the engine out. Also it's still apparently spitting flames of about 2ft, one side bigger than the other, I'm putting that down to over fuelling but I'm assuming if the manifolds blowing then that will contribute to that too will it? Any help apreciated as always guys. :crying:
  5. Yeah wasn't as bad as I was expecting, pm me your address bud and I'll pop two in the post for you.
  6. Took some doing but finally
  7. Superb Andy, Red is the colour of choice. And for ease and brightness two inverters would be preferable dependant on price. Your a star
  8. Get it bought, it looks cheep, although no idea how much shipping would be.
  9. http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLargeImage?AdId=536114414 It's in Toronto like but I never new Impul made an exhaust for the 300. The back boxes look huge, bet it makes a pretty sound
  10. Yeah my thoughts for my rear and skirts, however a mondo retrim oem is my favourite for the minute.
  11. Hmm, this could be something I need to think about now, although am I right in thinking 501 is the side repeaters? I need something really bright and amber to shine through my newly tinted front indicators, I may of gone a little overboard with the tinting spray :blushing:
  12. Yeah I assumed if I cut the edges away from the input then that would be ok. But admittedly the only experience I've had with el panels is when I did my rear panel, and then I think I got it from Andy as he had a spare one and inverter (all though I maybe making that up it was that long ago now) I was hoping he'd see this and lend a helping hand. failing that I'll give him a pm. Well it's only been a few days since I polished them and they've already dulled a little since, and they've only been wrapped in bubble wrap on my dining room floor. So I think a clear coat is going to be inevitable. Get some photo's up though, it's always good for a little inspiration
  13. I was thinking the same thing purely for the badge, but I had a steel momo one on when I got mine (still got it somewhere) although it was nice enough, in the winter it was horrid, I was having to pull my sleeve over my hand just to touch it. soon warmed up though mind.
  14. Josh might be game too, his is a LWB TT. I could possibly do this weekend. Are you still away Lexx?
  15. So looking for el panel's now, where's best? I can't seem to find any the right size, I measured that I could get away with 20mm x 125mm. Is it silly of me to think I could cut one down with a Stanley? I know I could obviously just fit a bigger one, but the closest I've found is 30mm x 50mm, and that seems a little bit big. What did you other guys use?
  16. I can feel a mini meet coming up here, Kev's is back on the road too isn't it?
  17. I'd be more than happy to take you for a spin in mine, where abouts in Teesside are you?
  18. Thanks jay. Part of me thinks 'why do I bother' they'll look nice for all of a week and then they'll probably look battered again. And the aftermath of rubbing them back has probably resulted in me getting aluminum poisoning, my nails are pitted and there's these horrible black things that keep coming out my nose. So a week of them gleaming better be worth it. Of course all the nice comments help too.
  19. So underneath the anodize it's just a regular titanium key? If so that would be great, partnered with one of the fairlady key chains if that's possible. Also I've got to ask, Aruba? What's it like? Are you living the dream?
  20. My plan now is to leave them for a week or so and see how much they dull. My previous experience with polishing aluminium is that it dulls quite quickly (I made a scratch plate for a telecaster guitar out of aluminium checkerplate) So if I'm right then i'll have to polish them up again and then I'll give them a light clear coat. Around the edges where the rubber tip was there were parts that had begun to corrode, so I'm guessing that's why they were originally covered. I can imagine there would be some slight water ingress due to there location. Anyway they're getting there slowly but surely, may have to start thinking about the electrics soon...
  21. That looks cool, but what's the difference from EL panel? they're thin enough. Anyway I have some photo's of the progress, they're no where near finished yet, but I managed to take off the plastic/lacquer and rub the scratches out. may of got a bit carried away with the flapper wheel though. had to do quite a bit by hand. They did polish up rather nice though. took some time because they're quite fiddly, had a go with a rag and some brasso for the most.
  22. Well that sounds promising. Still waiting for a reply from Aruba Dave though
  23. Nice idea, but I wanna see some pics of them fitted. not sure what colour I'd go for other than red, but I don't know how they'd look from the outside. I was thinking of battering Lee with pm's again and eventually getting him to part with his set :whistling:
  24. does your dimmer not work? I dim them down if I'm out of streetlights.
  25. I like them Steams, match your gauges beautifully.
