My New Exhaust...
At the minute it's hiding behind my garage looking very sorry for itself. Haven't figured out what to do with it yet. I wanted one of the tips with the kakimoto logo as a souvenir, but I can't be bothered to chop it off...

Some dick reversed into me!!!
Thanks for the kind words, and i'll hold you to the offer steve :pint: Yeah I've been in a similar situation myself when I was about 19, I went into the back of somebody, and to cut a long story short, I ended up giving them a couple of hundred to sort out a new bumper and getting it sprayed, and the insurers were never involved. So I can sympathise.. Thanks Richard, although there didn't look like there's much wrong I didn't want to let him leave with out some details from him because I did that once before too. however you will all be happy to know that there doesn't appear to be any damage to the fixing points on the bumper/wings, I've had the indicators off and swapped them for my old ones so that I can tint the clear ones. And everything looks cool, non of the studs are bent and it all seems pretty solid behind the arch liner. So it seems I've had a lucky escape. So without so much as a minor setback Lil Stevie's on-going bumper quest continues.....

Some dick reversed into me!!!
Yeah I think your right guys. I'll have a proper luck round the car tomorrow, take off the indicators and check the screw supports on the wings. see if I can see any damage. but at the same time I can hardly expect him or his insurance to pay for a new bumper or to even spray it, It's a scrap yard job that cost me £40.

Some dick reversed into me!!!
He said if I want we could call the cops and they'd come and sort it there and then, but I figured that was a bit overkill. As he said there didn't look like there was any real damage, and I figured the coppers wouldn't know either and they'd just tell me to go and get it assessed from a body shop. He was going on saying how he's got 5 years no claims and 3 kids and he won't be able to ferry them about if he loses his no claims. Although he apologised he just seemed to figure there was no damage so he could just **** off. Your right though dude, I don't have any luck...

Some dick reversed into me!!!
Walking out of my local subway back to the car and I watched some dick in a silver Laguna reverse straight into the zed. I watched it shunt backwards. The guy looked like he was guna drive off, but he clocked me coming so he parked up and got out. there didn't look like there was any damage, (as you'll remember I've got a damaged front end anyway so the odd scrape or scratch I wasn't guna be bothered about.) although there was a little bit on his, He said it was already there from another accident earlier, and everything seemed solid on both our cars. He really didn't want to give me his insurance details in case ' I try and get a new bumper out of him' So I settled for a name and number (could be anyone) and a photo of his reg. After I've got home I've whipped off the center panel to check properly for damage, and everything looks ok, couldn't see anything bent, but on the other hand I don't remember it ever sitting this high, but seen as though I haven't had the bumper on that long, it wasn't a perfect fit to start with and I've barely looked at it closely since fitting it I can't be sure So what do you guys think

Spot the difference...
I agree too. I had mine smooth for a year or so but eventually got a 99 spec. It looks loads better now.

My New Exhaust...
Yeah it sounds loads quieter when cruising at around 70, it's loads nicer than my last one. I sort of wished i'd wrapped some heat tape round it though now. may of dampened it that little bit more.

My New Exhaust...
Took it for a spirited drive this morning. and it does sound beautiful, it does have a lovely burble, top end it sounds sublime, and it gives the most subtlest of pop's after I let off the throttle. The only cabin intrusion is between 2 and 3 grand, so second gear when your slowly moving along in traffic it does vibrate a bit. I'm going to replace some missing interior screws this afternoon and I'm hoping that'll make all the difference. I'll try and get a video up. but I don't think my phone mic will do it justice.

My New Exhaust...
Yeah that's what I thought :( but apart from that they fit to the top line of the bumper beautifully. I'll have to see what I can do when the decals turn up. I'm going to give it a good drive out tomorrow to see what it's really like. I can't wait. the weather looks like it's going to be nice enough to get the roof off. Hell I may even give it it's first wash since I smashed the bumper. If it is a little too loud then I may see about fitting some thing in the front pipes. problem been they're all one piece... Cheers Lee, it wasn't as simple as I was expecting. but it's on and it's solid, just a pity the left one is ever so slightly too far to the left.

- My New Exhaust...
Ok the exhaust is on now, Was a **** of a job, it came on then off and on and off so many times. It was hanging too low on the bumper, it's actually cracked the bumper a little (it was already damaged from the last one) so had to bend the hangers a bit to try and make it sit higher, even had to cut a little bit of the bumper out to get it in. but it's on. Doesn't stick out as far as I thought though, so nothing of the back box can be seen so it was a waste polishing it all up. It does sound beautiful though, a bit louder than I expected, could maybe do with some cat's or something fitted. can feel the resonance through the car. i'll post up some more photo's and a video or two at a later date.- Illuminated sill refurb...
Hope your joking there bud. :tongue_smilie:- Illuminated sill refurb...
I thought I'd need two inverters, so that's good news. I've polished aluminium before, but my find was that it didn't stay shiny for very long. So I figured that's why they're lacquered. How would I give them a brushed finish? Yeah my center panel wasn't too bad to do, the splitting of the panel was the hard part. I've got in my head that I'd be able to rig the LED's I have in the footwell up so that they come on with the door too, aswell as off a switch. And I had an idea of fitting a strip along the bottom of the door card so that when the doors open it glows up a little of the floor underneath. but that may just be a pipe dream yet. As far as I'm aware they are metal. I was a little dubious too because they're so dull, where as yours are ****ing gleaming.- Illuminated sill refurb...
I have been lucky enough to get my hands on some Illuminated sills. Unfortunately they're not in the greatest of conditions, So I was hoping to try and clean them up a bit. If anybody has done this before, any help would be greatly appreciated. With them been aluminium i'm not expecting them to be as easy as the exhaust. They are quite scuffed So I figured I'm gunna have to be gentle with some fine wet n dry to bring the scratches out as best as I can. It also appears they've got some sort of lacquer on them. So does that mean I'll have to rub that all off, then after I've got all the scratches out and polished them I'll have to re lacquer them? As for the illumination, They didn't work before they were removed, so I figured the inverter or the el strip was ****ed, But I'd want them to glow red anyway. So am I right in thinking I could just get a similar style of El strip I used on the rear center panel, and then hide the inverter somewhere and wire them into the door switch? I'm not too worried about the wiring just yet, I've got to get them looking smooth and shiny first. Anyway here's some pictures.- My New Exhaust...
Update on this, confirmed the order for eight last night, and woke to find this reply this morning.... Hi no need to change the quantity on your basket. I will personally change the quantity to eight. Will check with the Veilside to see if they can secure 8 pieces, and double-check the shipping cost. It will take some time, but we will try to react as soon as possible. Regarding the payment, the Paypal will be the best way. But one thing you must be very careful, is that you will have to go into your Paypal account first. And then check your registered shipping address. If not registered, please make sure that you input, exactly the same shipping address that you've provided to us. Or to tell us that your new shipping address, that is already registered on Paypal. Reason for this is that Paypal will reject your payment, if shipping address differs at the time of verification process. Paypal checks your registered address, versus the address we submit, to verify that the transaction is safe. This is their part of Buyer Protection program process. Once all is well on the registered shipping address, THEN you can finally make the payment using the URL or invoice that we provide to you. I know it sounds bit complicated at first, but once you've done it correctly, the next time will be a piece of cake. Will get back to you soon. Cheers, ******************************** Andy Utsumi Customer Service AutoStyle e-mail: support@auto-style.jp ******************************** So now we just play the waiting game. hopefully it won't be long.- Tinted indicators....
I am bud, shot up some photo's and have a think for a price...- My New Exhaust...
I'll PM you my paypal No problem bud.- My New Exhaust...
OK, so I got a reply back from both engraver's, one can't get hold of stainless. And the other can't beat the price of £10 each. So I'll go ahead with the order from Japan. So basically are you still interested in a pair of these roobarb for £20. Lee I'll cover the cost of yours as a deal sweetener for the exhaust. I'll get the order placed as soon as.- My New Exhaust...
Yeah I agree, but I thought I'd give them a chance. I've emailed a couple, had a reply back from one, he was only asking the material, even though I'd stated stainless. But I'll see what happens...- My New Exhaust...
I've found a couple of local engravers. I've emailed them with the measurements and birds picture. hopefully they'll get back to me today. - My New Exhaust...
