  1. Yeah I'm game!
  2. Thanks guys, sounds like we'll have to make a mini meet of this. Christmas eve is no good for me though lexx, I'm working unfortunately. I know it can be done with what I have, Jeff managed it. And it never worked better, it was my own stupid fault. I should of realised when it was a little hard to lock it by hand I should of just used the fob.
  3. Yeah I agree, It's not some banger either, it's a 59plate S3 (I think) cost him somewhere in the 5 figures when he bought it.
  4. Haha, yeah the carbon does seem silly now that you mention it. I'm all for airbags, I've seen a couple fitted to various cars, and hydraulics, mainly tends to be on VW's or Audi's though. Never seen them on a car that gets driven properly. My mate just had some fitted to his S3, cost him about 2K and that was with free fitting, something about the shop using his car as a guinee pig/demo car for the first model of the kit. They had to cut a notch in the chassis for the driveshaft so that it can sit with the sills on the floor. Its a fancy bit of kit, looks nice but I think it just points out how much the arches are too big for the wheels, I'd much prefer a bit of poke or to have them fit flush. A bloke who I was talking too about his hydraulics said his were a piece of piss to fit, but they weren't car specific, he had to cut the bottom of his old shocks off and then weld them onto the new pistons. That put me off straight away, can't blame me for considering though the luck I've had with front bumpers.
  5. Jeff managed to fix my central locking when it was at his last week, but unfortunately it's back to where it was. Whilst parked somewhere dark and scary last night I thought I best lock my doors to prevent the inevitable rape I would of gotten, but because I didn't use the key fob and just slid the switch next to the handle it must of over stretched something and it ended up stopping the locking mechanism from unlocking. I had to climb out of the passenger side when I got it home. It was way to late to look at it last night so to get the car off the road I thought I better get it sorted tonight, so I braved the cold and the darkness and managed to get the door open, had to have a key in the door and pull on the inside lock to get it to stretch far enough to open it, but it still wasn't unlocking properly, so off the door card came, baring in mind the only light I had was from my phone. The actuator arm thing wouldn't budge, some how I'd managed to prize it in the locked position, so I had no choice but to cut the tie rap Jeff had used to secure the actuator arm to the locking mechanism releasing the two and allowing them to move independently. It freed it up but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to re attach it so that it would work again. I used a tie rap again like Jeff, and the actuator was working ok, but it just wouldn't operate the lock. In the end I gave up, I was way to cold and had lost the use of my fingers, so I put the door card back on and took it for a drive. Anybody that has succeeded in fitting/fixing remote central locking on a zed before, I salute you, you must have the patience of a saint :innocent:, and the hands of a child!!! I'll probably have another go at sorting it out when I've got some spare daylight and the weathers a bit warmer...
  6. Picked my car up from Jeff the other day, fixed a few little niggles and a cambelt change. Can't believe you managed to fix my central locking too. As always top workman ship, car feels loads better now and it's good to have her back on the road. Nice to see you and Lynda again and thanks for your hospitality. Another happy customer
  7. I've got to ask the question Dan, but are you sure yours was working correctly? I like mine, but then again I don't think I've driven it without it so I don't know what to compare it too.
  8. Wow 1000+, wasn't expecting that many :w00t: no reason why we can't have nearly that at the 25th anniversary. My V5 is full of errors, it states its a 5 door coupe convertible. although the date of registration is right as a G reg unless the seatbelts have been swapped. I'll ask my mate that m.o.t's it to see if he'll update it next time.
  9. Now that's just a tease Jeff, any chance of a ball park figure for what you've got?
  10. I do like that, it looks Retro as ****! :cool3:
  11. I don't mind it, the colour matches the Perspex strip, although looks odd next to the centre panel, but they're different. I'd take them over the amber ones. but not over 99's or any other smoked or clear lens. just sumat you don't see every day.
  12. They do look really nice.
  13. What should we be able to see? I thought it was going around the back of the sun? Didn't think we could see it for another few weeks?

    Well it's definitely different
  15. What rear bumper is on the original pic? It looks like the sides sit a little lower than the oem bumper.
  16. Making the most of my trip to Jeff's thought me and the Mrs would spend the night in Sheffield and do some Christmas shopping at the Meadowhall shopping centre. Walking back through the car park spotted this little gem Looked very clean. Also prompted the Mrs to come out with 'See, they're not as rare as you think! :tt2:'
  17. I remember an old picture from a couple of years ago where somebody had put S13 lights in I think, or could of been S14's either way I'm sure they were from an S body. they looked really nice and as far as I know it wasn't photo shopped. But I could of just imagined it. bit like Car.Mad's cup holder venture
  18. Yeah I think it's class. I'd have it.
  19. If you message him explaining, he'll remove the gold anodizing. I just used eBay to sort it out. Cheers bud, I'll check them out.
  20. Yeah I'd thought of this too, but I remember somebody mentioning before that there's melted, and I really don't want to take that chance.
  21. Lexx recons there's one near him. or i'm hoping with daves instructions one of my locals will be able to cut it.
  22. Yeah I was tempted for a zippo too. but I thought I may be going a bit to far.
  23. Got this in the post today, well chuffed with it can't wait to get it cut.
  24. Well this could all end very well.
  25. Depends on the condition. I'm in two minds about it, I've just got my stillen lip so was kinda looking foreword to that getting fitted. But that's only because I'd lost all hope of getting an impul front. It would be a tough choice for which to fit. But I suppose I could always get them both sprayed up. Pm me what price your thinking.
