  1. Ok this is the reply I got back from them. Hi Steven, The items will be shipped from our warehouse in Japan. All US customers also gets shipment from our same warehouse in Japan. So, you will not save any shipping cost by collecting from US. Besides, you can not collect from our US warehouse. They do not accept pick up. I am sure that you are aware of this, but the Veilside is the Japanese company, their main headquarter based in Japan. Their brand became famous, due to the movies, and some of their aeroparts require 6 months or more for delivery. It its one of the most busiest manufacturer of all in Japan. (large number of orders, but still small facility to produce, resulting in long delivery time.) Are you definitely be sure about the quantity of 8? Veilside is one of the busiest people out there, so they get fed up of receiving multiple inquiries and changes in order. Some times, they intentionally delays the answer, or refuses to provide the answers. So, if we are going to make any modifications to the quantity, it has to be done at once.(and no more changes) This is very important for us to keep a good business relationships with Veilside. Hope you understand our situation. Thank you. Sincerely, ******************************** Andy Utsumi Customer Service AutoStyle So guessing my indecisiveness maybe grinding on them a little. So I need to finalise this order. So is there anybody else we can think of who would want any of these? As it stands it's a little less than £10 per emblem, the more we get i'm assuming the cheeper they will be. I told them i'd finalise the order tonight. but now I come to think of it i'm not going to be able to get to an engraver's to check their price until the weekend. But on the otherhand £10 isn't alot, and these are genuine VeilSide...
  2. I couldn't possibly reveal that...
  3. Haha I'll have to get used to all this Yankee slang. If they do get shipped to your mate though, it's still only saving us $4. (don't get me wrong though its a beautiful gesture Si to go out of your way for us all) Turns out I've worked out the price wrong though, it's actually £19.95 for the pair to the UK, providing there's 8 bought (4 for myself and 2 for Bird, and 2 for Roobarb) Thought that seemed a little too good to be true.
  4. Do we know of anyone else with a VeilSide exhaust that may be interested??? I know they're not the most common of kits but there's obviously a few kicking about.
  5. Haha, so they do. Yeah I figured they'd be coming from Japan, the email address I've been talking to ends with .jp and the default setting on the site for postage is to CA (assuming California) and the shipping cost for that is 'EMS AIR $49.50' and if UK is selected then its 'EMS AIR $53.67' so for the sake of $4 between 3 of us it maybe pointless. However I will definitely email them and ask if you could just pop into the shop and pick them up therefor not require shipping and see what they say. Pity you couldn't of fitted a Stillen lip in your hand luggage, could of saved me £100 in shipping.
  6. http://autostyle-usa.com/?pkey=parts...&car_url=goods That's the link there. They've replied back with the dimensions and they're 25mm x 60mm. Does that sound about right Si? I think it may be a little big.... I'd asked for 6 anyway, Lee wanted a pair, and I was gunna get two pairs just incase. I'll ask them if another two for roobarb will make a difference, i don't think they would, So a rough guess would be about £10 for a pair delivered, and i'd assume once i get them it would be the price of a first class stamp to get them to each individual. I'll try a local engraver though too, and see what they say. but either way a £5er for one isn't bad. And they look better than yours Si they have a boarder :tt2:
  7. Don't say things like that, If i find another set i'll hold you to the offer though. :tt2: Yeah cheers Si that would be class. I found a company in the US or Jap (it's confusing as to where they're from) and they have replied, they can provide some, I'm going to put another thread up see if anyone else wants any and bulk order, they're only about $9, but shipping was over $30. But if I could get some knocked up from an engraver, that would be awesome, I never thought of that. I'll see if that would be cheeper.
  8. Yeah don't worry, these aren't going anywhere, not for love nor money.
  9. well keep looking bud, you never know...
  10. There will be plenty of vids, all in good time. I went round all my local motor factors today, and all my local exhaust places, and none of them could help me. they thought it was from a commercial vehicle. So I thought I'd nip into work again on my day off and have a word with some of the fitters. They gave me a few 3" pipe gaskets, and with a punch I managed to put the bolt holes in, only problem is they're full round, so I need to chop the excess off. i'll mark them out at home and then hopefully chop the excess off at work. I also managed to get a bag of 10mm nuts and bolts, with washers and spring washers, was gunna double nut them too just to be safe. And as I was leaving my boss said I should try a place called klingers, it's fairly local and it's where work goes if they want any custom gaskets. So I popped down after, told them who I worked for and showed them the center pipe, the blokes gunna order me some material in I just need to nip back during my dinner one day this week and he'll cut some out with the cnc machine for me. Not sure if he thinks it's for work or not or if he's expecting any money, but i'll find out later on in the week. The question is though my front pipes will be 2.5" and the center pipes are 3" although the flanges meet and the bolt holes line up, i'm still a little unsure which would be better to get the gasket cut to fit, the 2.5" or the 3", there's pro's and con's for both :confused1:
  11. Thanks guys, it is a labour of love
  12. And here's a few of them nearly finished As some of you may have noticed, they're missing the emblem on the tip as displayed on Si's beautiful example here I've emailed VeilSide to see if they can do me a replacement, but i'm yet to receive a reply. I trawled eBay to no avail, but Google did find a US shop that sells them, but it keeps on crashing when I try to buy it http://autostyle-usa.com/?pkey=parts_free_word&limit_maker%5B%5D=VLS&limit_car%5B%5D=029A&page=1&max=10&car_url=goods They don't even appear to be that expensive, but I managed once to get the shipping quote up to the UK, and that looked expensive. But I'll try and get a response from them. If anybody knows anywhere else, or anybody that would be able to make similar then please let me know. I figured a sticker would just melt, but I may resort to that for the time been. So today I'm going to try and source some gaskets from my local motor factors, and hopefully will get it fitted sometime this week, or failing that next weekend. I can't wait to here it, my neighbours are gunna be so pissed :hyper: Thanks again to Lee for eventually giving in  I owe you one :pint:
  13. But last night I got bored so thought **** it, i'll make the most of work been closed for the weekend and use the work shop, so with this lot at my disposal I managed to get it pretty much finished. The tips aren't perfect, and I probably could of took my time a bit with the 'wet n dry' and got the rest of the scratches out, but I figured it'll look ok from above, and even better through somebody's windscreen. I May have gotten a bit carried away with the polisher though, there really isn't any need to have the cannons shiny, but it is rather therapeutic. here's one before and one after. ....
  14. So I gave up, figured the best plan of action would be a grinder, So Sunday morning a mate of mine popped round with his and we enjoyed the sunshine in the garden,.. So with the bulk of the nasty weld gone, the next Job was to remove the old bits of CAT from the centre section The grinder made short work of this, and then lightly cleaned up the flange faces I did think that was the end for the weekend, and I'd take my time doing little bits at work, smoothing out the tips and shining it up and it'd be ready in about a week or two....
  15. Surprisingly this didn't take as long as I thought, but I've managed to get it ready within the weekend. So here's the progress photo's This is how it looked when I picked it up from Lee on Saturday. It appeared as if at some point a silencer had been welded into the tip, so my mission was to remove the weld and try and make it look as acceptable as possible. My first attempt Saturday was to try and hacksaw it off, but it was taking the piss out of me (stupid 5 picture rule)....
  16. I begged, pleaded and annoyed the shit out of him. but he eventually gave in. I owe him lots of hugs and kisses.
  17. Think i'm guna pop the center pipe into motor factors tomorrow and see if they have any in, if not then yeah it'll be an eBay job. Cheers though guys your all stars. And Dave seen as though you asked
  18. are the 3 hole ones common too? The system is 3" but i'm assuming my decat's are still 2.5"
  19. Cheers Joely, I never thought they'd be generic.
  20. Yeah I did, I was guna do a grand unveiling when it was finished and fitted but i'm gunna need some advice along the way as per. I was gunna put paste on either side of the gasket too, my existing one is only held together with paste.
  21. Is it just a case of getting a kwick-fit type place to source some or do these need to be special order and custom made? Any advice welcome...
  22. Now that is beautiful, for a second I thought they were my wheels. dan's one is tasty too though mind.
  23. Not at all, that's a nice idea. I would of never thought of that. my fear would be the light not shining through after I'd finished, but this would be a fine way to solve that problem
  24. Thanks for that, I may have to have a go on my indicators, the tinted ones on ebay look crap.
