lowering considerations
few questions relating to my imment lowering of the car, i purchased some lowered and stiffer bilstiens from a club memeber which i will be fitting. firstly with a lwb and a 20mm rear drop and around 30mm on the front whats likly to hit speedbumps? exhaust midsection looks to be the lowest part. obviously the underside of the engine should be pretty safe. secondly. there are some metal plates that sit on top the struts do these sit ontop the strut or ontop the arch? furthermore to this point if i decided the front was a touch too low could a thicker one be used to space it out a little. thirdly.is there a way to switch the shocks without compltly resetting the alignment? obviously camber etc will be affected to an extent but i dont wanna take it all apart and it be so far out its undriveable before i get it all set up correctly again. last question, the rac will not tow cars that have been lowered, as this is quite a subtle drop im thinking they may not even notice if worst came to worst. but they are bright yellow, do i paint them black and claim there new but standard, or leave them yellow and dirty and plead ignorance?

Who has V-Maxed their Zed?
i guess he could have dropped the clutch and its started to slow down, however i do tend to agree taht the boost gauge being in the neg and the revs reading just over 2000 does tend to point out this picture is fake.

BMW/MGB GT Project
i think the crome ruins it. a nice set of minilites or wellers or the like would make it look like a more perios style witha smooth twist as would blacking out all the chrome to give it a more clean appearnace. that was my capri, i removed teh bumper overriders and smoothed them out slightly tinted the rear lenses, and had clear fronts, mk2 grill crom trim painted over. side mouldings etc spoiler reomoved. dropped around 30mm all round and a subtle 2inch rolled exit exhuast. rolling on 13x7 ultralite minilites.

going to have to sell the zed :-(
i dunno in reality, i dunno about where you are but here apart from the intial deposit paying a mortage makes finiacial sense. around half teh cost monthly. a simply 2 bed terrice house without any bills paid is around a grand a month here. in some the crap areas. 4 of my mates where living in a house with no off road parking no lounge and so out of date it was practically a mussem i would have a guess it was last decortated in 1970 something. their neighbours where awful and the area crap. that was costing them 1200 a month before any other outgoings.

anyone else tried to race a gtr the r35?
lol er well heres my take on it in an unbiased way. power. wel it goeswell the power curve is smooth progressive and starts from fairly low down the rev range as you would expect from an n/a, even the standard car has quite a nice smooth induction roar to it taht lets you knwo theres not just a normal gold heart in there on an open throttle. brakes. where to start just look at the size of them compared to the size of the golf theyre huge., and they feekl like you would expect. strong instant and responsive, theyre pretty sharp but this may have been due to him not being used to it yet. handling, yes it goes round corners well, that 4 wheel drive really holds. yyou can put youir foot down half way through a progressive corner and it just digs in gripping gripping gripping. i guess theres a limit to this and when its reached heaven knows what happens but i think you would have to be driving beyond what would be considered sensible on a public road. the interior is very fresh anjd tidy and feels quality like most german cars, you would be quite happy in there even in a traffic jam. as for tuning he was saying that forced induction and remapping in the way forward and the block itself is pretty robust allowing for upping power to not completly bankupt you. cant remebr the facts and figures atm. its a really nice car, however its just not as quick as it makes out for itself. he hasnt driven it with the traction control off yet.(his gf has though :P) but i would expect the usual front bias at all times making for a workl dof understeer and snore. would i buy one? not as a toy no its just not enough car to be a proper toy, lovely to blast down to cornwall in though. i must admitt though id love the creature comforts in the zed.

i want a bodykit?
that red one you just posted up stella is now running a 99spec front end. if its the one im thinking of. carmnad does a very simular set opf side skirts. i think the best combo is 99 front those skirts or simular and the twins rear bumber with the diffuser.

What steel wheels fit
correct strength of useage aswel. is teh strength tensile, or another type. this is what determines the useage of material, alloy is great for roar cars because its ridgid and light, it however is brittle, no good for being twisted with torque or putting heavy weight on. steel whilst not holding its shape well ie bending, is more likly to do this than snap hence its use with heavy machinery.
