zerocooldel Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 well since nobody seems to want my carcept front bumper was thinking i could just repair the cracked bit and paint it red and stick it on my new car. how hard is it to paint and look half decent? Quote
davezx Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Lots of prep, and steady with the paint, then lots of patience in flatting n polishing. Quote
Stephen Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 i recently did my first bit of proper spraying it really is about 90% prep work. plently of sanding flush the correct primer and teh correct paint keyed up the laqour is the bit that makes the difference at the end and this can be difficult, i rished it at first and the laqoured bloomed had to cut it back and restart, that was because there was a little too much moisture in the air, however the final product was great. zerocooldel Posted May 29, 2011 Author Posted May 29, 2011 cool il have a think about it. will need to have a little trial fit see if i like it on without the rest of the kit Quote
KJZ32 Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 If its a solid red use a 2k paint, its much easier and more forgiving than a basecoat and then clearcoat, can be wet flatted with 2000 grit when hard then machine polished for a mirror finish. Quote
