Using a cheap N/A auto as a daily driver?
look hard buy a decent recently imported jap one with a good club/entusiast background. sounds like youve already talked yourself into one lol. mine was a dick when i first got it the engine overheated and blew. then i got it fixed by some cowboys and it carried on beating a dick. the rac knew me by my first name over those 6 months. anyways it got sorted out cost me a few quid and now it seems to be fine no issues touch wood for over a year. everything is difficult or expensive to fix on this car though. they really are a nightmare to work on at home so bare this in mind. buy a good one and i hope you enjoy it.

What steel wheels fit
no they wont fit there 165x5 you need 114.3/114 x5 this is teh stud pattern ie where the bolts locate, you can buy adapters. also its worth nothing that at 6j ie 6 inches wide they could do with be about half as wide again on the rear. standard rears are 225 across so 150 is a bit er lacking in grip.

power steering fluid leak
thought id dig thsi post up and restart it. really need to get this sorted. ive tightened the jubelies that are obvious the two small ones the large one on the underside etc, but still leaking quite badly. its not the line coupler near the rad its further to the left, i can see it dripping down from higher up in the bay. i would assume its either the pump itself or one of the joints to it, how difficult would it be to remove the pump and replace the lines in this area etc. might be the best option in the long run? or is it a pita and well worth doing up the connections in situ first? any advice on the best acces etc, im guessing theres loadsa stuff thats in the way.

diy bumper painting
i recently did my first bit of proper spraying it really is about 90% prep work. plently of sanding flush the correct primer and teh correct paint keyed up the laqour is the bit that makes the difference at the end and this can be difficult, i rished it at first and the laqoured bloomed had to cut it back and restart, that was because there was a little too much moisture in the air, however the final product was great.

lowering considerations
where did you get them from? anyone else got anything to add to help?

lowering considerations

My New Zed...
should have painted the engine first mate its much easier. lol i laqoured mine and it went shit, it melted the glass

lowering considerations
few questions relating to my imment lowering of the car, i purchased some lowered and stiffer bilstiens from a club memeber which i will be fitting. firstly with a lwb and a 20mm rear drop and around 30mm on the front whats likly to hit speedbumps? exhaust midsection looks to be the lowest part. obviously the underside of the engine should be pretty safe. secondly. there are some metal plates that sit on top the struts do these sit ontop the strut or ontop the arch? furthermore to this point if i decided the front was a touch too low could a thicker one be used to space it out a little. thirdly.is there a way to switch the shocks without compltly resetting the alignment? obviously camber etc will be affected to an extent but i dont wanna take it all apart and it be so far out its undriveable before i get it all set up correctly again. last question, the rac will not tow cars that have been lowered, as this is quite a subtle drop im thinking they may not even notice if worst came to worst. but they are bright yellow, do i paint them black and claim there new but standard, or leave them yellow and dirty and plead ignorance?

Who has V-Maxed their Zed?
i guess he could have dropped the clutch and its started to slow down, however i do tend to agree taht the boost gauge being in the neg and the revs reading just over 2000 does tend to point out this picture is fake.
-
best place to buy crystal front indicators?
side light bulbs aswel led ones. id like them to be point source illumination like leds should be not diffuse like how the filliment bulb is.
-
best place to buy crystal front indicators?

BMW/MGB GT Project
i think the crome ruins it. a nice set of minilites or wellers or the like would make it look like a more perios style witha smooth twist as would blacking out all the chrome to give it a more clean appearnace. that was my capri, i removed teh bumper overriders and smoothed them out slightly tinted the rear lenses, and had clear fronts, mk2 grill crom trim painted over. side mouldings etc spoiler reomoved. dropped around 30mm all round and a subtle 2inch rolled exit exhuast. rolling on 13x7 ultralite minilites.
