  1. Hi Stephen. First car.....I really wouldn't want to pay your insurance bill. If you really really want a z32 then buy one as a long term project, then it will be ready for you when you can access cheaper insurance. Not to mention this is a 20~25 year old car I and many others have had them as a daily driver, running one as a daily is not cheap, wear and tear as well as fuel. You've picked a great car to buy but I think you need to be sensible about the bigger picture. You may be loaded some young people are, at which point I'd recommend you buy a nice new hatch as a daily and enjoy the zed as a special toy.
  2. Why not just fit an aftermarket boost gauge. It will be; A. Easier B. More accurate(depending on what you buy of corse) C. Able to read a higher range for when you inevitably decide you want more boost. I think the stock gauge only goes to 10-12psi doesn't it? Mines Jspec so reads in hmgm or whatever it is. You don't have to go for some Lairy pillar mounted tumour that lights up pink at night, there's subtle ones and even way to incoperated it to look stock. Andy Isherwood had an inter grated boost and water temp I believe that looked stock and proved both if those commonly inconsistent gauges.
  3. As far as I know all uk cars have precats. You can always change to Jspec turbo elbows. What were the ones you were looking at?
  4. Bit cheaper. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/230640490579?nav=SEARCH
  5. Oh, good luck with the O2 sensors they can be a bit annoying.
  6. Yeah it's a bit fiddly. 1/2" UJ and a good socket makes it easier. Get the starter motor out and the battery gives some breathing space.
  7. That's the ones; http://www.japspeed.co.uk/nissan-300zx-turbo-decat-downpipes.html It's worth searching ebay etc though as other companies sell the same item for less. Be aware, the turbo flange bolts can be trouble plenty if care and wd40 required snapping one is a nightmare in situe. Also be aware that decatting can highlight worn turbo seals causing smoke. The cat merely hides the symptom though.
  8. That my friend is the million dollar question. The 99 spec is the sensible choice for your car but I think you like it less than I do. The horseshoe works esp on stanced cars. My favourite is the 89. Maybe it's a case if waiting for some rare JDM spoiler, there's a lovely veilside one but it's a nightmare to find. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?142644-seriously-pissed-finally-got-enough-to-get-a-veilside-EC1-spoiler
  9. Depends on what origin your tt is. Jap TT should fit using the stock elbows. UK cars I believe are different. Getting a set that has new elbows is sensible as it's one less old rusty but if metal. Brand new sets are cheap enough from japspeed and the quality is adequate.
  10. Stock rear; http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/251334534695?_mwBanner=1 Adjustable ARB compatible style rear which is actually a stock front; http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/400332374015?_mwBanner=1 Front compatible for adjustable; http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/251132085438?_mwBanner=1 I think though to get the best you need adjustable drop links. Like these; http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/anti-roll-bars/whiteline-universal-ball-joint-drop-links Trouble is the whiteline ones are made from playdough.
  11. Scratch that, that is a rear... The ARB doesn't change it. The front one is a z shape though. I used a 200sx front one at the rear as it was half the price and on the shelf.
  12. That looks more like a rear. The fronts are z shaped. If your whitelines are the same as my stillen ones you will need 4 Z shaped ones. Which is the same as a 200sx front.
  13. I can only think of three members, you two are two of them.
  14. I know the fate of H61 EGU sadly, it was the swb and location that rung a bell. It belonged to ZX-TT after you; http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?161325-AZEV-18-quot-Wheels-with-Pirelli-PZero-tyres-all-good-tread-%A3300 Sadly he got disheartened and couldn't sell for what he wanted the car was broken and in the end the shell was scrapped I believe. If you find his name and search his posts you will find out exactly what happened.
  15. She's a stunner baz but she needs a spoiler.
  16. Yeah, certibatly not something you can expect to do any make big money it's just too time consuming. With the right tools however it would take long. There's a company local to me called Tube Form Technologies, they er specialise in tubes. My old firm used to use them for the bulk stuff that didn't require bespoke joinery, for example the luggage racks on trains, we made hundreds for bombardier. I recon they could be quite cheap to make the bulk then I can put the vac nipples etc in myself. This means I can use aluminium as I don't have access to a AC welder and buying one would negate any saving.
  17. Correct, I haven't made a set of 300zx intercooler parts. I guess you could say though I have made a few bits of pipework, sadly I don't have access to the tools I once did it it would be done already, for free :D
  18. Very nice, I do miss my Capri. I had to choose though and the zed won.
  19. If you have to pay someone else it's probably not a viable option.
  20. Wrong engine IMO, I'd only consider put one of them in a Capri because its easy, and cheaper than making the 2.8 to 200+ hp. But its a big heavy pig iron bottom end that makes ~230whp. So many better options that would be lighter and keep the overall balance of a mk2 whilst providing better power than the engine out of a Granada. My mate had a Capri with one as it was pretty quick, but my other mate had one with a Chevy v8 that went in almost as easy thy was hooligan f Mk2+ dutatec/zetec/Honda s2000 engine way more win than the 2.9 cosworth. My favorite cossie block is the 3.1L GAA lump, that's a fed v6
  21. That's the plan lol.
  22. AMS one are the cheap ones buddy.
  23. I don't think there's 3" for a z32 either, 3" exhaust yes but not intakes. I'd love a 2.5" intake system but there either expensive and don't fit properly or very expensive. Either way you will be importing it.
