whos zed is this
Looks like a nice car actually: great colour. Shark front bumper is always a bit too aggressive IMO, but it's a matter of taste. Does look really good though if you don't mind a few stares when you're driving around.

I thought the bottom one was viniboy's but I'm probably mistaken.

Nice work. Like the background music. Really well filmed as well.

Put her into the bodyshop today!
Show us some pics when you're done mate. Think it's going to look really good. I take it you're keeping the matt black look (very cool)?

NZR Mates just been arrested
I can definitely see where you're coming from, and yeah I probably would be concerned if somebody round here went on the rampage with a paintball gun, but on the other hand I'm fortunate enough not to live in an area where gangs of kid persistently roam around causing trouble and vandalising peoples' property. Like I said before, I can't honestly say I think it's a good idea, but I can understand him doing it in the heat of the moment. And I do think, as a few others have pointed out, that he's probably going to get the book thrown at him. Shame it won't get thrown at the kids involved as well.

damnn.....
I'm tempted to make some flippant remark like, "Best looking BMW I've ever seen," however there is a point that messing with someones car is just *not* something you do. I've got a mate who turned 40 recently, and me and another mate (Paul) are still trying to think of a suitable gag to play on him. Paul suggested we do something to his car, which is a 13 year old Fiat shed which he doesn't care about in any way, it's just a way of getting around.... however there's no way I'll do anything to his car. My mate Andy doesn't care about his car at all, but whilst it's OK for him to treat it like a workhorse, it would be completely out of order for me to do anything to it.

NZR Mates just been arrested
If it was my kid I'd probably give him a good beating myself. I can't say, although this has amused me, that driving down the street shooting vandals with a paintball gun is a good idea, but on the other hand I can't really blame the guy for what he did either. It does seem that the police, and it may not be their fault since they have to follow rules and guidelines, are somewhat ineffective when it comes to dealing with certain crimes. However consider that there was a time, and it really wasn't that long ago, where if kids stepped out of line, and an adult (even a stranger) saw them, never mind a police officer, then those kids could have realistically expected a clip round the ear at the very least. Now what happens if you do that? Well, you get done for assault or something, and in my opinion that simply isn't right. A clip round the ear for a kid who's out of line does not constitute abuse: it never did my parents any harm, and it never did me any harm. Now I'm not advocating that people should smack their kids willy-nilly, but every now and again it can be a very helpful way of administering a quick punishment that will deter them from doing the wrong thing in the future, and doesn't cause the parent an undue amount of hassle to administer. Sure, there are alternatives, and you can take privileges away etc, etc, but this actually can cause severe inconvenience for the parent when they try to enforce the punishment... so then you get the situation where the punishment isn't given, the kid works out the parent is making idle threats and that they can basically get away with doing what they like, so they do. OK parents, now's your chance to shoot me down, cos' I don't have any kids (although I do have a twelve year-old brother, so have some experience of dealing with them). It's all just my two-cents worth anyway.

slick 50
Yeah, don't do it. General consensus on here seems to be that additives are a bad idea. Also if you look at http://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html, this article explains a lot about oils, and also why additives may not be such a great idea (I think the additives bit is a link from this page). Anyway, it's worth a read. Also search for threads on this forum by a guy called "Oilman" (real name: Simon). Like Retro620ti says, get a decent synthetic ester oil. Simon recommends (or at least used to recommend) Silkolene Pro-S 10w50 for the zed engine, but best to ask him direct since he knows what he's talking about and I don't. Opie Oils have got a link in the sponsored links section of the forum. Cheers, Bart

Back-pressure - what's that all about then?
OK, suddenly it all becomes clear. Thanks guys, and thanks for that thread ya5een. Feeling a bit more educated all of a sudden, and I now understand why removing the cats *may* not be quite such a good idea after all. Cheers, Bart

Think I need to modify the slam panel.......
Weeeelll yeeaahh... but I wouldn't want to be standing anywhere near it when you try to start the engine.

*****tyre Warning********
Mate, slightly off topic. What sort of wheels are those on your zed?
-
Think I need to modify the slam panel.......
Ouch! I'm sure you'll sort it mate. The road to extreme performance doesn't seem to be smooth, but more than worth it in the end. That car is going to kick a$$ when it's done.

60 BHP upgrade chip Help.
I think you got black and the mystery colour the wrong way round. Seriously, 60 bhp from a chip, does that really work? (I have *no* idea BTW, just interested.... cos 360 bhp sounds kind of fun TBH.)

Back-pressure - what's that all about then?
Hi everyone, OK, so I've just been reading a thread about dual- vs single-exhausts, and people kept mention back pressure, and how you have to have the optimum amount to get the best from the engine. But my naive understanding was that back-pressure acts against the exhaust gases being expelled by the engine, so that in an ideal world to get the best out of your engine you really want no back-pressure whatsoever, because then there's less resistance for it to get rid of the exhaust. So, what's the story? Do you need it or don't you? And how much is enough? I'm now confused. Thanks, Bart

Which are the cheapest but best H.I.D Light kits??
I don't think that heater sounds right. Mine doesn't take that long to warm up.

how may subscribed members acually use the forums
I haven't so far but I'd love too. Just been busy every time so far. Also, not sure anything happens with the South-east monthly meet now. Supposed to be at the Dick Turpin but don't know if anybody's actually gone for months.

 I'm utterly speechless.

*****tyre Warning********
Ouch!! Good thing it was on the rolling road rather than the real thing. Definitely, definitely going to be F1s when I go for replacement then.

Tyre Choice
I asked a similar question a couple of weeks back. You might find some of the replies here quite useful: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=58626 Ended up deciding on F1s in the end. Depending on your wheels you might want to check out http://www.mytyres.co.uk for prices. I'm no authority but they seem fairly competitive. Cheers bud, Bart

Weird Front Bumper
Mmm... maybe that was a bit harsh. Just had another look and it's growing on me. Looks like a pretty nice car apart from that at any rate.
-
Weird Front Bumper
Eeuww! Let me guess: it's call the "Vampire". Not my cup of tea either I'm afraid. Still, each to their own.

Possibly selling up.
Sounds like a plan mate. Any way you can pull this off? (Notwithstanding the sound advice dished out earlier by various people.)

  I know *exactly* what you mean.
