That is quite the most extraordinarily bizarre thing I've watched in a very long time.
  2. Yeah, you got that right.
  3. That's truly amazing. Wonder what sort of car it actually is because you can't really tell from the inside shot. The cockpit suggests it might be vaguely F1ish but not sure. Unbelievably quick though, and great brakes like astrassuck said.
  4. Cheers Rich, I think it'll get sorted in the end. Just a case of being patient, or at least trying to be.
  5. Well I emailed the guy on Friday, but he still hasn't got back to me. Think I'm going to give him until tomorrow and then get in touch with eBay. Cheers, Bart
  6. I'm not so bothered about the spoiler because it wouldn't be that big a deal to just remove it. The thing that spoils that car in my opinion is the wide-arch kit at the rear: just looks completely wrong. And unfortunately that's a much bigger deal to fix.

I quite like it but apart from the spoiler, but that's easy to remove. The mileage is pretty high though (haven't read ad to see if it's had an engine rebuild). Also not so keen on autos.
  8. Yeah, gotta say the whole cheese thing is probably the major reason I'm not too bothered about going clubbing any more (well, that and RnB, which would be OK if it weren't so samey -- how old do I sound?). I'm sorry, but I can't stand Wham et al: it was crap in 1983 and it's even more crap now. Please stop!!!!!! The only reason people thought it was any good is because virtually everything else that came out in 1983 was even more crap... It's crap, accept it and move on, find some new (or at least some other) music to listen to... please. Popular music has been knocking around for decades, and arguably a lot longer... so why the hell do people insist on listening to the same rubbish for 22 years!!!! Do you still moon around over your childhoold sweetheart from 1983 (let's conveniently ignore the 0.1% of people who buck the trend and marry their childhood sweethears)?!?? Do you still wear the same clothes?? Do you still have the same haircut?!???? No, of course not. So why not realise that actually George Michael wasn't that great either!! Get over it already!!! (Please.) And if I hear Gold one more time (and I used to like that tune), or Saturday Night, or *anything* by Madness, or Abba (and wedding DJs are *particularly* guilty of the latter)... well look, you get the picture. ... Not that it winds me up or anything. ;)
  9. That is very high quality.
  10. I'm another IT bod: software engineer. Do a lot of stuff with .NET (C# rather than VB) and SQL Server. Have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it, but certainly can't complain because the major costs of my recent holiday in the States were paid for by my company, because I had to go to a couple of conferences whilst I was out there. There is something very satisfying about it, and if I didn't find it to be so I probably wouldn't do it.
  11. Nah, I just got it working with FF and Quicktime, of all things. Normally if there's one browser/plug-in combination that's bound to fail it's this one. Not sure. Maybe a QT upgrade/reinstall is in order? The more I think about this the more I think there's got to be something dodgy going on with the plugin registration.
  12. I must say, I'm not big on this whole American V8 thing... however, that does look really cool and all of a sudden I feel quite jealous. I think you've got a lot of bottle doing this, and I reckon, despite my scepticism, that the results will be more than worth it. All the best.
  13. No, that's pretty grainy. I don't think it's anything to do with your monitor.
  14. Mate, that is going to look fantastic. Dare I ask how much the flip paint is costing?
  15. That's fantastic. Cheered me up proper that has.
  16. No, I have to confess I didn't read the ad, but if I were looking for a zed the fact that the pictures are of all different cars would have put me off somewhat. I want to see the car I'm buying; he could have put links in for the other bits he bought.
  17. Noooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want it to be quicker of the mark just plant it before you release the clutch, but you'll need to be careful you don't lose traction by excessive wheelspinning or (worse) just spin out completely. Maybe find an empty carpark to try it in. Honestly mate, there is *just no way* an NA is quicker off the mark than a TT if you drive it correctly.... having said all of that every now and again (well, actually quite regularly) I get it wrong and end up trundling off the mark being whipped by a Cavalier 1.6 or something because I haven't bothered getting the revs up a bit before pulling off.
  19. I think the fundamental problem here is that Quicktime basically sucks, as I've experienced similar problems in the past (actually the real reason I think it sucks is that it's incredibly good at sucking up CPU cycles to no good end that I can see). Just reinstalled the thing a couple of times and eventually it kind of "went away", but that doesn't really help. It may be something to do with the way FF/Quicktime interact. Not sure. Sorry, doesn't help much. Bart
  20. Er.... at 25,000 rpm?!?? Sorry, still feeling slightly bitter about my latest eBay experience at the moment.
  21. Unless I'm very much mistaken, and having checked I don't think I am, those pics of the red zed have been lifted directly from the ZCentre website. Bit cheeky to say the very least.
  22. Cheers bud. That looks really nice, whereas mine looks like it was assembled from poor quality materials in the back of somebody's shed. Gutted. Be saving my pennies for a real one from Chris now methinks.
  23. Gutted for you mate. I kind of know how you feel, because with owning a zed, even if you're not actively engaged in spending loads of money modifying it, there's always this lingering anxiety that something horribly serious is going to go wrong, and you're going to be saddled with a massive bill for it. I've considered getting rid of mine two or three times now (and I've only had it since February), but the thing is I just love driving it so much, and it is such a great car. Went to the pub for lunch today with a bunch of the guys from work, and because it was such a nice day, took the targa panels off for the drive there, and realised yet again how much I love this car. Like I said, gutted for you, but sounds like you've made the decision for the right reasons. And anyway, you can always turn up for a meet and go for a ride in somebody else's. :)
  24. Nice one bud.
  25. Yeah, I'll drop him a line later. Looks like I might have a lucky escape here. :) Know better for next time though. Thanks everyone, Bart
