  1. I know what you mean about hobby/job. I went into IT because as a kid/teenager I loved computers. Now I do it for a living I don't really want to touch them outside work that much any more.

    Dude, that is messed up.
  3. Yeah, TBH at the time it's doubtful it would have registered with me. I don't think I saw my first 300ZX until a couple of years after this came out, but it is very cool. If anyone's got an ADF image for the Amiga version I'd love a copy.
  4. LOL. Poor bloke never gets any peace. That is very good though.
  5. TBH for the type of car it is I think the turning circle's OK. I've got a mate who's 306 is far worse in this respect even though it's a much more "sensible" car.
  6. I remember that, although I only played the demo version on my Amiga 500, never actually owned the game. Was good fun though.
  7. What does selling the car have to do with it?
  8. Nice car... but that site. Grim.
  9. It is the only beef I have with the zed: no cup holders. Graaa!!! What are you supposed to do with you're extra large coke from the local McDonalds cruise on a Friday night eh?!? Seriously, it is a total PITA though.
  10. All the best mate. I've been meaning to do this for a while as I think it looks great, but haven't got around to it yet. Sounds like the ideal project for a cold winter's evening though. Post some pictures up when you're done.
  11. Welcome mate. I notice your license plate is very similar to mine. Where did you buy the car if you don't mind me asking? Wasn't these guys was it? http://www.hertsperformance.co.uk/
  12. Bad luck mate. I dread the day something like that happens from the point of view of both the animal and the car. Always get nervous when I see those deer warning signs too because they can literally jump out of the hedge in front of you - actually had it happen a couple of weeks ago in the States, only it wasn't a wee deer, it was a ruddy great elk!! Slammed on the anchors, and luckily wasn't going too quick at the time so managed to stop easily enough, but it could have been ugly if it had popped out in front of me a second or two later, or I'd arrived a second or two earlier.
  13. That's excellent. Was it you that did it?
  14. Hi Chris, is this baby difficult to fit? And do I need an ECU upgrade as well? TBH I probably can't justify the expense anyway at the moment, particularly as I think I may need to get my prop shaft sorted, but it'd be nice to know for future reference. Thanks, Bart
  15. Mate, if you got this from eBay I'm pretty certain you'll be able to get your money back, although you'll probably end up taking legal action. Likewise autotrader or any other mag: if you've got the ad in print you're sorted. Make sure you have the guys *full* contact details and go pay for an hour's worth of a solicitors time, or go to citizen's advice bureau (free). Make sure you also contact the company that advertised the car: particularly important with eBay since auctions are taken off the site after a while. If everything is as you say you should be able to take this guy to the cleaners for mis-advertising. If he's running some sort of business so much the better. You may find that the first solicitors' letter or summons to the small claims court or whatever scares him enough that he just capitulates. But if not you're in for some degree of hassle, but you will get your money back, and possibly additional damages as well. I'd say it's well worth it because, if everything is as you say, then he clearly mislead you and took advantage of your lack of knowledge about the car. Hope this helps. Bart
  16. Good job. Hope you get it sorted.
  17. It may be that the mileage on the dash is being reported in km, however seller says 68000 miles, whilst the odometer (if that's the right word) reports 105025. I'd want that checked out before I put in a bid because what you can see of the rest of the dash suggests it's been converted to UK spec.
  18. Erm... well it kind of is if you don't like autos. This is no disrespect to anyone who's got an auto by the way: it's just not my preference. The problem is, that unlike say the rear lights, getting it replaced with a manual box isn't going to be cheap.
  19. Always loved them. Supra is just a bit too boy-racerish for my liking. Did consider a Skyline (because obviously they're not in any way boy-racerish), but to get a really decent one you're talking a lot more than a zed: the problem with the Skyline is that it really doesn't look much until it's been kitted. Still, maybe one day. But I'll keep the zed. In fact what I'd do if I suddenly came into a ton of cash, which isn't going to happen, is this: get my zed modded to blazes, with a full bodykit and respray in pearl black, some nice new alloys, a new interior, and of course I'd do a macca on the engine... and in the meantime I'd get a Skyline as my daily driver. Dream on, eh? ;)
  20. I agree, however they can always be replaced and taken back to stock for a couple of hundred quid so it's not the worst problem in the world. I'm gonna get slapped for saying it, but if that were a manual it'd be near perfect and I'd seriously consider bidding on it (even though I've already got a zed, greedy I know).
  21. Cheers mate, that's good to know. :)
