  1. I only say 'yes' so willingly because I'm out of the country, otherwise I might be a bit more reserved about it.... hmm, actually no, probably not. It's a hassle, but worth it if the government listens.
  2. Nice. Makes quite a big visual impact. Has it made any noticeable difference to the intensity of your headlights? Seems like you'd get a lot more light reflecting off of the sides and bottom etc.
  3. Although, I think the point actually is, that if you've got two zeds with exactly the same setup in terms of engine, transmission, wheels, brakes, mods etc, and one was red, and the other black... ...the black one would definitely go faster. Your power advantage merely outweighs your colour disadvantage. :smash:
  4. Erm, mate, you could spray your zed green with pink and blue spots and it'd still be faster than all of ours. ;)
  5. Nah, it's just I'm still twitching and drooling from having to phone 463 people up to ask the mileage because they didn't put it in the ad when I was looking for a zed.
  6. Had a dream last night. Hope it doesn't turn out to be accurate: Optimax at 199.9p / litre. Odd thing was I dreamt I was filling my old Renault with it (why?!?). If it peaks there we're stuffed: welcome back 1970s petrol crisis.
  7. Yep, I'd agree. The advert hasn't done the seller any favours. Still, at least he *did* put the mileage... not that I've still got a chip on my shoulder about it or anything. ;)
  8. Do you have a link for this? 262 mph?!? That's very scary.
  9. Still seems kind of steep. I guess you've probably tried Norwich Union all ready - they gave me a pretty good quote. Worked out at under £800 for a manual TT, fully comp. Can't remember the exact amount as I had to pay a bit extra when I got my new wheels fitted.
  10. Yep, link is dead for me too.
  11. Great job for 3.5k. Really impressed with that.
  12. Yeah, there's none at either the Milton or Bar Hill branches either, and that Bar Hill branch is absolutely enormous. They don't even sell super, which is crazy. I'm going to get in touch with them nonetheless. Just amongst mates there are a bunch of performance cars being driven: 300ZX TT (me) Subaru Impreza WRX Mazda RX8 Honda Accord Type R Honda Prelude 2.2 (2.3? can't remember) VVTI Not to mention all the other fancy sports cars you see knocking around on the science and business parks: Evos, Porsches, TVRs, the odd Ferrari, a zillion Imprezas.
  13. Mate, how old are you, if you don't mind me asking? Best part of £900 for TPFT on an NA seems a bit harsh to say the least.
  14. All I can say is I wish my salary went up the way petrol prices do... I'd be minted!! 10% increase over the space of a few weeks. Outrageous.
  15. Yep, it's a great car. I've considered selling it, even though I've only had it 6 months, and getting something cheaper to run, but it's such a fantastic car, and I love driving it so much that I don't really want to part from it, so I'm keeping it for the time being.
  16. Just paid the above for Optimax at local station in Cambridge. Unfortunately Tesco isn't stocking RON 99 up here yet. Might have to start putting standard RON 95 in if this gets much worse. Needless to say, I'm not driving much at the moment, and when I do I'm driving very gently. How bad do you guys think this is going to get?

Sorry to hear it bud. That looks extremely painful apart from anything else.
  18. I'd say the world *has* got particularly nasty since the beginning of this millennium. However, I wouldn't necessarily draw too many conclusions from Katrina along superstitious or religious lines, because these kinds of storm, even of this magnitude, are a natural phenomenon and have been building up in the Carribbean and hitting the Gulf cost for thousands of years. It just so happens that very unfortunately there's now a large city in the way. I have to say though, I'm nothing short of gobsmacked over the slow response of the relief effort.
  19. Classic. It must be just picking them at random, or at least nearly at random.
  20. My vote is the manual, but you might have a long search for one that ticks all the boxes you want (colour, mileage etc) because they are rarer. And in fact, in my (albeit limited) experience, if it's anybody who knows anything about the car, they'll probably be impressed that you managed to track down a decent manual. ;) Depends what you want it for. I love my manual, but there are times when I'm in heavy traffic, where I find myself thinking that an auto would be a lot less hassle.
  21. Erm, OK. Now I'm seriously concerned. Just double checked and it looks like you might be right (this is from one of Oilman's threads): Engine VG30DETT Petrol, 4-stroke, 6 cilinder, V, 4 valves/cil., Turbo, liquid cooled Cilinder capacity: 2960 cc Capacity: 3.4 liter Filter capacity: 0.4 liter Use: Normal Change 10000 km/6 months Goodness only knows where I got 4.6 litres from. I'm going to double-check this in the service manual later, but it looks like I might be getting under the car at some point over the weekend. Not what I wanted to be doing. Thanks, Bart
  22. Love to go, but I wouldn't get there until half way through the afternoon as I'm busy until about 1, so it doesn't seem worth it.
