  1. I'm getting the error from both http://www.300zx.co.uk and 300zx.co.uk. Do I need to actually register the game or something? At the moment I'm only using the demo version.
  2. What it actually says is "Did not get guest info (lost connection to host)." Any ideas?
  3. Anyone else having trouble logging on to it? I keep getting an error saying it couldn't download guest info. Cheers, Bart
  4. > Your Total Score: 105 > > Your Car's Coolness Factor Rating: > Cool Car. Your car is probably great at picking up chicks. Well no surprise there. It's a cool car. But good at picking up chicks?!? ... I don't think so. Or maybe they just take one look at the driver and decide against it.
  5. I can see why. That's gorgeous.
  6. I was looking at them (titanium ones) yesterday, on the grounds that I'm buying interior accessories (so far, new gear knob and looking for new steering wheel), but they're about $200 a pop from Concept Z Performance... don't think I'll be getting one of those then. Anyway, turns out I've only got the valet key, not even the master key, so I might well get one of those. Then at least I'll have a spare key, which I don't at the moment.
  7. Yep, I'm with SkylineDave on this one. If you can prove they've taken the money out then they haven't got a leg to stand on.
  8. Welcome mate. All good crack here. S'funny because I was ogling Supras earlier, but the fit's passed and common sense (and the true state of my bank balance) has reasserted itself. All the best with your search mate. Saw a really nice Z somebody was selling on here a few days back. I'll see if I can find the thread and post it up (if it's not already sold).
  9. Looks like I've started something here then. It's not a straightforward decision. Most of the time I drive quite gently, but every so often I let it go and take it to the red-line in every gear (well, except 4th and 5th), throw it round corners on country lanes etc. Tricky.
  10. Ouch. That's awful. Definitely take pictures, and don't let this go.
  11. That's fantastic, and the "David Blunkett policy maker" (link from same page) is even better.
  12. It's an interesting idea. I'm quite glad those two got busted though: honestly, it must have cost loads more to take the trip to Bulgaria than to just pay up.
  13. Mate, welcome to the club. I'm sure there's somebody on here in the area who'll be able to help you. Cheers, Bart
  14. Well, the way I see it, it's between the F1s and the SportContact 2 from Continental based on what Richard has said, and the info from the article Andy posted. My only hairy moments in the Z have been in the wet so I reckon it might end up being the F1. Thanks to everyone for all the comments. Cheers, Bart
  15. Right here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=58529
  16. Thanks Andy, that's exactly the kind of thing I was after. Cheers, Bart
  17. Hi All, Anyone know of anywhere I can get a Z logo gear knob, or even whether they exist? My current gear knob is really tacky (it's not stock) and given that I'm going to have to dismantle the centre console and take out the gear-switch to change the bushes, I figured now would be a good time to replace it. What I'm after is something in brushed, or shined metal with the Z logo on top in silver and black (i.e. exactly like the badge on the front of the car). I had a look at Concept Z Performance, but all they seem to have are the standard Nismo leather gear knobs. I also checked out GetGreddy and the ZCentre but to no avail. On a related point I'd like to paint the shaft of my gear shift because the metal is looking a bit scratched and tatty. Ideally this would be in black... but I've no idea what I'd need to do to prepare the surface for painting. I was planning to airbrush the paint on, but if anyone has any tips/tricks I'd be grateful. Thanks, Bart
  18. Oh no... conflicting advice. Stress! Brain explosion! Seriously I'd be quite interested to know where you got those from because I just did a search on mytyres.co.uk, and came up with the KU31 which is only £20 cheaper per tyre than the F1, so it still costs £400, which is double what you paid. What size did you get? Cheers, Bart
  19. No, that's perfect: you've told me exactly what I need to know. I guess I'll probably end up going for the F1s when the time comes: £480 for a set of four from mytyres.co.uk isn't as bad as I was expecting anyway. I seriously thought I might end up forking out £800 or something. Cheers, Bart
  20. LOL, yeah I saw that video too. I can only imagine how much of a heart-stopping moment that was.
  21. Hey guys, thanks for the responses. It does seem like the kind of job I can do myself without too much hassle so I'm going to do as Pete suggests and order some bushes from MJP. Not so sure about the short-throw stick at the moment, but I am going to take the opportunity to get a new gearknob because my current one is awful. Cheers, Bart
  22. Hi Pete, thanks for the advice. I'll get in touch with MJP about the bushes, although at the moment I'm still in two minds about the short-shifter. The only one I knew of up until yesterday was the Stillen short-shifter, but £150 seems a lot to spend on something I'm not that bothered about. However, if you can pick up decent ones from eBay (not sure of brand, but saw in another thread) for about £40 that might make it worthwhile. The one thing I am going to take the opportunity to do at this point is get a new gear-knob because the one that's on there at the moment, which isn't the stock one, is just nasty. Thanks again for the advice, and for the offer of a look at your stick. I might take you up on that next time I'm in Nottingham - one of my mates is in a band up there, and they're starting to get a few gigs, so I'm going up to see him on 19th November. Cheers, Bart
  23.     Great comment from the judge.
  24. At some point in the future, I'm going to need to get some new tyres. I'm not sure quite how far in the future, as I've still got plenty of wear left in my existing tyres, but I just want to think ahead a bit here (and budget for it as much as anything else 4 lots of 18 x 245 x 45 -- not sure about that last number -- isn't going to be cheap). So my natural instinct is to go for a premium brand of tyre, because basically these are the only things that keep you on the road. Something like the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, or Continental SportContact 2 or whatever. However I know absolutely nothing about tyres, so my slightly controversial question is are the premium brands (Goodyear, Michelin etc) really any better than brands like Nankang (Taiwanese), or is it all just marketing hype? My perspective on this is that without any hard data I'm going to go with Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestone or whoever, because basically you know what you're buying, but I'd be interested in knowing if at any time any comparisons have been run between all the brands. Or is there anyone here who works in tyres who knows anything about this? Thanks, Bart
  25. 'Course, with the first lot, you have to understand that "Any repairs undertaken" doesn't necessarily mean that (cracks through spokes are a very bad thing), but I don't think you'll have a problem if it's just the normal curb rash.
