  1. I know *exactly* how you feel. Roughest day at work I've had in a while. Only trouble is Sunderland is kind of a long way away. Otherwise a pint or two and a game of pool would go down great.
  2. Mate, on the one hand I'm gutted for you, on the other I'm not (sorry). When I spent 6 months looking for my zed I got quite fed up of the "not 300zx" crowd on eBay. What I would say in your defense is that they should make it a heck of a lot clearer that this isn't on than they do. As you point out, a lot of people do it, and unless they clamp down on them then people *are* going to think it's OK. Putting on my IT hat for a second: how hard would it be for the techies at eBay to come up with a script that just searched for the word "not" in titles and descriptions, flagged a warning to the seller before posting the advert, which would give them the option to change it. If they chose not to change it then it could be added to a list of items that needed reviewing before being allowed to auction, and then it would either (i) not be listed in the first place, or (ii) allowed to list. They just don't take this stuff seriously, or they've got a bunch of muppets for programmers (sorry, bad day at work dealing with buggy Microsoft crud, so I'm not in the mood to be nice about incompetent techies). Anyway, like I said: both gutted and not. Are they going to charge you the listing fees for it?
  3. OK, I can't even be bothered to read the 29 (!!!) pages of that crap. Honestly, that is the saddest excuse for a "forum" ever.
  4. Ah no, you can still see the thread, if you register. Hmm...
  5. I can't even get to that thread. Just comes up with the whole members log in thing. Haven't tried registering yet because I'm at work. I've looked at that site before, and I have to say that despite some of the completely minging cars they post there, the general tone is *extremely* unpleasant. A lot of very insecure people on there perhaps methinks. Anyway, don't know what you guys said (although I'd love to see the storm if somebody has a cached copy), but looks like you made an impression. :)
  6. Done, thanks Paul. Mike's ordering me one from the States. Cheers, Bart
  7. Thanks Paul, I'll give him a buzz. Was thinking he might be a good person to talk to. Have also posted on the items wanted forum. Cheers, Bart
  8. Oh yeah, one last question, does anybody know the part number(s) please? Thanks, Bart
  9. Weeelll... the car failed the MOT, which isn't great, but I'm not entirely surprised because the front suspension is squeaking a lot. Turns out the bushes on the n/s front tie-rod are on the way out, so getting that replaced. No biggy. Only other problem is the rear fog light, which is kind of annoying. Apparently it's an LED bulb (too directed), isn't bright enough etc, so they have to try to get a bulb that will work better. It's a J-spec so of course the fog-light was added when it was brought into the UK. The other thing that appears to need sorting is the prop-shaft (although perversely, I don't think that's an MOT fail). Not sure whether it's just the bearing, or whether the whole thing needs to be replaced. So the question is, do you need to buy the whole kit and kaboodle, or can you get the bits separately? Is it worth just doing the whole thing anyway? And of course, where's the best place to get one from? Thanks, Bart
  10. Only in America, eh?
  11. Hmm... well I've been burned a bit with eBay recently so I'd avoid it. ZCentre is your friend: a bit pricier but at least you're not going to get ripped off. Also might want to take a look in "Items for Sale", I've seen some interesting stuff come up in there.
  12. Mine's in at the moment, so know how you feel. Definitely slightly concerned.
  13. Good job Mick, that's fantastic news.
  14. Oh yeah, that's great.
  15. Strewth... you could buy a whole car for what they're asking.
  16. Thanks Rich. Very glad about it. Now I can use the money for something really responsible.... like buying a steering wheel for my PC to play LFS with. :)
  17. Cheers Chris. Sorry I haven't yet replied to your last email BTW. I'm just waiting on my MOT (happening Wednesday) to decide about spoilers, induction kits etc. Hopefully it should pass without too much trouble. Getting the prop-shaft bearing sorted at the same time.
  18. You may remember that a couple of weeks back I was stupid enough to buy a replica Momo Millennium Evolution steering wheel from a seller on eBay, thinking it was the real thing. Well, the guy's just sent through a refund. I emailed him at the time asking if I could get a refund, which he'd promised in the ad, but I got no response (this was around 10 days ago from memory). Anyway, in the end I sent him a slightly blunt email yesterday, and I also managed to find out his phone number from 118118 (don't know why I didn't think of that before) to give him a call tonight if I got no response. To cut a long story short just checked my email and have found a notification from Paypal saying that the refund has come through (including P&P). Result! I'm very happy, having been seriously irritated about the whole thing yesterday. Now just have to send him back the steering wheel and we're all square again. Moral is that next time I'll be checking on here first. :) Thanks to everyone who responded to my original thread.
  19.    That's excellent!
  20. Happy birthday dude!

Hmm... actually that might not be such a bad idea.

Looks very cool indeed. Am currently resisting the temptation to buy a wheel... but only just.

Strewth, that's awful. I know a number of people have asked about the fate of this car over the past few months. Can't believe they actually did crush it. From what I saw it was a beautiful car apart from the damage mentioned above. What a bunch of idiots. Sorry to see it's such a pain to sort the mess out.
  24. Well frankly anyone who shakes a baby around just after it's been fed deserves whatever they get. Honestly. I don't mind babies, but I've no real desire to have kids anytime soon. I imagine it feels different when they're your own.
  25. Not terribly bright.
