There was a discussion on it last year I think. There were a couple of members who had it done.

Headlights - Again...!
Wasn't intending to patronise. The thread had become very confusing. You have to remember future members will come read this thread if they have a similar problem. so the clearer the information the better for everyone. Too many people get confused between side light, dipped, and Main beam (not saying you do). As for me being rude.....er....no. It was simply a statement that I think you should give everything a clean as it would save spending hours hunting electrical issues that may not have existed. Since you have now hooked up a spare then clearly that isn't the issue. But no one knew that previously. Clearly you're too sensitive when I was only trying to help. Ah well.

Performance VH's Z32 VH45DE Build
Colour looks like that special edition mica paint they put on Micras in the 90s. Friend of mine had a FTO painted in it

Newbie from middlesbrough
There's a member from Boro here who is stripping down an NA car to turn into a drift car. I think he's hoping to have it at the autodrome next month. Like any car they are reliable if they are looked after. Did you get a TT or NA? The fan is a viscous coupling fan and will do the job fine if it is in good order. Start with a full service, probably do the cambelt and water pump etc (unless you have history of it being done recently). Take it to the autodrome, see how you get on with it, then go from there.

Headlights - Again...!
Just for clarification here - The MAIN BEAM HEADLIGHTS should light up more of the road than DIPPED BEAM. That's what they are there for. As has been said. DIPPED BEAM lights go through a projector lens and illuminate the road ahead. If you have HIDS fitted, you will generally see a distinct line in the near distance. The reason we have DIPPED BEAM is so as not to startle drivers in front of you. MAIN BEAM have no projector and no angle so essentially direct their light everywhere. Which is why they appear so much brighter. These should only be used to illuminate the road when there are no other road users that can be affected by them. Now that is cleared up, we can go onto what you were asking. By using your hand I assume you mean you covered the top of the lens to simulate the bulb only directing onto the floor. As has been mentioned above, the power of that bulb is only passing through one layer of perspex, not a glass projector like the DIPPED BEAM does. I did mention to you in a previous thread to clean your lenses. Andrew even linked to how to do it. So go do that before you start hunting for electrical issues that may only exist in your head.

Japfest 2015. Deadline for ticket payments is Wednesday 18th March
Thanks for the feedback guys. So, would people prefer dedicated Z only track time (even if it means requiring a deposit from you all) or happy to sort your own track time out? (To reserve a full session just for Zeds is circa £800. In the past 3 sessions have been reserved).

Japfest 2015. Deadline for ticket payments is Wednesday 18th March
Dates for Japfest 2015 have been announced. (May16) In past years this has been organised by Steve Burns but this year I suspect 350z-uk will be leading it. What kind of interest is there from here? Especially for track time. If we want dedicated Z only sessions it's quite a large upfront payment from the club that is needed to secure it. So it would likely require a form of deposit from members. Anyway. If you can register your interest below I'd appreciate it. UPDATE FROM 370Ad Saturday 16th May 2015 - http://www.japfest.co.uk/ As with previous years this will be a joint stand with the Z Club and the 300ZX Club. We have a provisional ticket allocation of 50 tickets and 1 dedicated track time which has 20 spaces. Each ticket allows one car onto our stand with a maximum of 4 people per car. Which for obvious reasons will be a maximum for 2 people per Z. Our track session is letter H which starts at 11:36 with a 10:30 briefing. Anyone wishing to take a passenger will have to buy a passenger ticket for £10 on the day. If you are going on track please read the rules on the Japfest website to avoid disappointment on the day. Tickets and stand passes will be posted to home addresses in advance about 1 week before the event. Track time paperwork for the Z dedicated track time will also be posted out in advance with the tickets. Price Ticket Only Price - £27.70 Ticket Plus One Track Time - £62.70 This price includes postage to your door. Payment This year the only payment option will be PayPal and it will be directly to myself for management purposes. PayPal Address: 'aoml@outlook.com' When making the payment please include the below details in the notes section. Japfest 2015 Club Name Username on that forum Full Name Ticket type ordered (Ticket/Track) Full address for the tickets to be sent too This is very important as without these details your order could get lost. If you have any questions feel free to drop me a PM or write it on this thread. Look forward to seeing you all on the day.

Z31
There's a few nice Z31's for sale at the moment. They're still bloody ugly though. Especially the rear end. It's like the designer just gave up half way through.

My SWB Zed...
As above. 95 slicktop and no washer bottle on the rear.

Time to replace the daily driver!
I've lost count of the miles I've done in hired Insignias going to and from various boats around the country. Always a comfortable journey, and they shocked me hugely when I first drove one as I expected to hate it (as I did the Vectra). We nearly bought a Tourer version (right up until the day of the first pregnancy scan and we discovered it was twins - hence now S-Max Titanium X Sport). Only thing I don't like (and I haven't found a car I do like it in) is the electronic handbrake. It just doesn't seem natural at all. And I don't trust it. I found myself purposely looking for perfectly flat places to park even if it meant a longer walk.

H3C bulbs don't have flying leads! Just two prongs.

CAS issue
J reg with a fecked engine? You'd get more if you broke it. As it stands, someone might me daft enough to give you £800 for it. Especially if they have a spare TT engine handy.

300zx tt 1997
As Stella says, the TT's no longer had boost gauges from late '96.

CAS issue
Well at least you got to the bottom of it. I expect Jurgen will be putting pics of it up on his FB shortly!

CAS issue
Check the PTU.

300zx tt 1997
There are some cars that the DVLA screwed up the registration of. Quickest way to get a gauge of the year of your car's manufacturer is to check the label on the drivers seat belt. At the bottom where it's bolted to the floor there is a tag with date of manufacture on it.

Dip Lamps
Projector lens can be cleaned without dismantling the lights. Just need some lint free cloth taped to the end of a bent coat hanger wire. Feed in from the bulb holder and rub around gebtly untill clean. There's a guide somewhere with pics incase you don't get what I mean.
-
Dip Lamps
Have you cleaned out your projector lens? 20 years of crap on them, combined with possible faulty HIDs will cause issues. I have HIDs, and have no problems at all in seeing in front.
-
Dip Lamps
Nightbreakers in a dip headlight will piss off every other road user who comes across you. They'd be more likely to smash into you through being dazzled, than you are to crash because the current HIDs don't give off enough light. I strongly suspect you would fail an MOT too. Although the projector lens may take out a fair amount of the dazzlement

Christmas Meal
Thanks for a good night folks. After freezing our arse off we finally found Hartlepools most miserable taxi driver. Luckily he didn't get stopped and breathalysed otherwise it could have rapidly turned into a bad American cop movie! Good to see some old faces and a few new ones too. Merry Christmas all.

It'll be dark you muppet! No idea if it's clean or shiny. I'll have to be sure to request a clean Taxi now. lol
