  1. It's that size because he imports cars of a much higher and rarer nature than a Z32. Cars which demand high mark up prices. There are plenty of Tax calculators online regarding imports from a variety of countries. Stick your numbers in there and find out what it's gonna cost you.
  2. If you think he's making a huge profit on a £5k car you are so far off the mark it's unreal.
  3. Bit of a mine field And easy to get scammed. My recommendation would be to use a Personal Import Service like Torque GT offer. They do all the work for you and charge a one off fee (II can't remember what the fee was last time I spoke to Mike but it wasn't too much). You could also speak to Jurgen at JM Imports. Both are top notch blokes and would guide you on what is needed even if you did the whole process yourself.
  4. Glad you got it sorted mate.
  5. B&B exhausts sound epic. If I could fit one in a suitcase to dodge import tax I'd have one next time in the US!
  6. I'm home on Monday for 3 weeks if you want to try them on my car.
  7. Just resurrecting an older thread. Lee - Was it this guide you followed to turn a normal consult connector into a Bluetooth one? http://home.exetel.com.au/nds/NDSIA/index.php?content=supportedadaptors With Datascan already on Android, and Torque Pro in development the bluetooth option is the one I prefer. My soldering skills are up to scratch, but I want to see if anyone else has attempting the DIY guide as above.
  8. Not much to add to what has already been said. I only met you the once at Coventry but you've always been an asset to this club. I hope your remaining time is positive, painless, and full of fight.
  9. I'll pop in next time I'm visiting family in Cambridge (April), can I blag a passenger ride?! lol
  10. Dry joint on the back of the circuit board.
  11. Get an LED bulb with whatever fitting you have installed. Something like this; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Car-24-Red-LED-1156-382-Tail-light-P21W-BA15S-bulb-REAR-BRAKE-FOG-REVERSE-/390831885335?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5aff654c17
  12. I regularly have a look at the Japanese auctions. I've noticed the price of Z32's over their has jumped by about 5% over the past 12 months. Although with it, the quality of car seems to have increased too. If I were to ever decided to have another, I'd likely go the import route. Don't forget Si, it's winter....and a bloody cold one too. So lots of Zeds are hiding away and Sorn'd. If the past is anything to go by, April/May will see an increase in sales as people try to use the coming summer to promote the joys of Targa's
  13. Nope. Sounds like it's been a custom set up of some description. Both my Shorty exhausts have an even H Pipe
  14. Looking good mate. Just thinking on your bonnet. What's the plan? FFS don't go sticking a hidious vent on it. When Nissan changed from the VQ35DE to the VQ35HR engine in the 350z they had to change the bonnet profile and give it a "hump" to allow for the higher engine. Maybe you could do something similar and graft a hump into a standard bonnet? (I'm on my phone so can't post links. But the bonnet style changed in 2008).
  15. Hi guys. I've been asked this a few times recently, and am now in a position to confirm this year's headliner for LakeZ. We have booked..... Toyah! !! Like last year the headline will be on first, to be followed by a UK famous (ish) blues band. I hope to see many of you there again this year! Remember to book up your accommodation soon due to the Cartmel races clashing. Those who wish to camp, please PM me so I can keep track.
  16. Cheers lads. I'm at work up in Aberdeen so doing my best to enjoy it.
  17. I'm Hartlepool based. I'm away in Aberdeen for next 3 weeks, but if you can wait I'm sure we can come to an agreement.
  18. Only used in the Cedric and Laurel. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VG_engine
  19. My bad. Missed out the Race Logic part On your post. Assumed you meant standard TCS with LSD.
  20. Example - system senses right rear wheel spinning up and cuts power to that wheel. Left wheel still has some traction but then hits slippery surface. Before you know it you have a huge power bias to the left rear on a slick surface and off you go doing a pirouette. I only know this as that's how I stacked my VXR8.
  21. In my experience traction control is bugger all use in ice/snow. I'd even go so far as saying it can make matters worse.
  22. Sorry to hear this Tony. But at least you walked away from it
  23. Windscreens are a pain as you need to salvage the top strip (Although you can still get new from US, and I believe someone once mentioned that BMW 5 series are a good fit). My Zed has a small rust patch on the roof at the screen edge. I'm not looking forward to doing it. Funki Si will be best person to comment as his screen had been changed a few times. Skirts hide so many problems. Look at Tomfromthenorth. He was so convinced his car was solid he took it to 2 different MOT stations thinking they were having him on about corrosion. Turns out the sills were well and truly ****ed. Corrosion near the door hinges would suggest the door seals are fecked and allowing water in on the leading edge and pooling at the bottom.
  24. I have no personal experience of AMS products, but there are enough bad stories of horrendous fitting and bad quality products to put me off buying anything from them.
  25. I have a Pioneer single Din, plus ipod controller I'd sell on.
