Where does our membership money go?
Firstly ignore my title as NEO. I stepped down almost a year ago due to family commitments. Right - I dislike JAE immensely. Have been with 3 different clubs and it's always been crap. Problem with JAE is its essentially just camping in a field with the onus on the clubS to provide entertainment. Which is very personal taste . Can't please everyone. Now more onto the OP's point. Money. It would be great to spend cash on good dedicated events. But be realistic. We're a small club. We can't afford something on the scale of the SXOC weekender - that costs almost £19k to put on. And even with charging members £250 it still loses money. In my opinion the club's money should be spent subsidising tickets to the various UK events already in place. Dedicated events are awkward. It took me a lot of effort to organise Coventry 25th. And I had to fight like hell to get 50 cars there. And the amount of people who said they'd come and then just didn't bother was infuriating. So imagine if the club did that on a larger scale, threw a few grand at it, and then only a handful of people showed up. Anyway. I digress.

car getting painted in 4 weeks need help picking the best red paint
NIssan's "Rosso Red" is a good bright Red. You could get it on the 2008/09 350z. Just don't mix it up with Nissans Chilli Red which is much duller.

Best place to buy Mintex pads?
Used Mintex in the past and found them good value for what I was using them for.

Finally work is about to begin on the Slicky
- Finally work is about to begin on the Slicky
Could be as the seals are the only thing I haven't ordered yet as I was gonna see what condition they were in when I remove them.- Finally work is about to begin on the Slicky
Well the extension is finally finished (ish), although the workshop isn't fully sorted yet. I've spent the past 18 months collecting parts for the car and will be starting work on her once I'm home in 2 weeks. Work to do - Change rear shocks Remove rear subframe and replace all bushes including diff Paint subframe and diff Underseal car Sort small corrosion area on drivers rear sill Fit OEM steering wheel Repair (with Mondo help) seats Fit new drivers side carpet New discs and pads all round Caliper rebuild all round Complete stereo install New headlights to fit (better condition than current ones). Clean up buckets whilst lights are out. Refit exhaust so it sits straight. Full service Wheel alignment MOT. I'll be doing a How To for most of the jobs to help all those in future.- Best place to buy Mintex pads?
Never mind. All ordered now.- Best place to buy Mintex pads?
Looking at ordering up new discs and pads all round. Already settled on MTEC discs and Mintex pads (car is barely used and never pushed to limits). Anyone got good places to get Mintex pads at good prices before I just get them bundled in with MTEC?- Unveiling my new spare zed
Kahn RSC2. They won't have been cheap when new!- Locked out of my Z.......
Borrow some wheel dollies. Jack up and drop car onto them. Pull away from wall.- Gtr zed.
This. RB's are over priced and over rated imo. But, if that's what someone wants to fit then good on them. In all honestly I don't get why some folk are so vehemently against engine swaps. Some people just like to be different, or prove they can do it, or just want something that the car in OEM engine form doesn't offer them. Each to their own I say.- Hello and what's it worth
Mint imports with 60k miles are around £9k now. Provided it doesn't have an horrific body kit and has good service history then for the right buyer it could be £12k + Problem is that there are not many people buying Z32's.- Polybushes
Full Master kits available from the US. Try Z1 or CZP- Tragic news of the passing of a great Z club member.
He was my mentor and my friend. He'll be missed more than he would ever have realised. Rest easy Martin.- Exhaust size - 2.5" or 3"...?
Where you getting it done at? I can highly recommend AAS in Newcastle.- Japfest 2016......new venue
EH? ! You realise that the UK goes some distance further North than Birmingham right? Have you looked where Silverstone is on a map? Considerably closer to Bournemouth than it is to Newcastle. In fact it's almost twice the distance.- Japfest
Hah. I must have been typing my thread about it as you posted htis one.- Japfest 2016......new venue
Japfest have just announced dates for 2016......along with a new venue - Silverstone. I've attended Castle Combe numerous times and was always underwhelmed with what was on offer. Space always seemed to be at a premium. However, I have also attended a now defunct show called JTS at Silverstone which although it wasn't a huge event it was pretty well laid out and Silverstone was easier to get to and get into than Castle COmbe - especially in the wet! They're also offering camping this year. Something which was always missing at CC. Leading to the epic tailbacks early morning trying to get on site.- Can't believe what I just found....
Really dislike you for that!- 300ZX Spark Plug Change Now Won't Start
Possibly disturbed some brittle wiring to the point it's only making sporadic connections. Start checking your loom- 300zx with L S engine
I have a huge information Folder on my laptop relating to doing an LS swap. Gathered from all around the international forums, including looking into prices and where to get all the parts from (including using the Z32 5 speed box). The only reason I even contemplated doing this is because I have an NA. If my car was a TT, I wouldn't consider it as a VG30 is a damn good engine and like any other if looked after and modified sympathetically it will serve you well. But a TT into an NA just isn't worth the hassle in my opinion, hence the investigations into an LS swap. I still toy with the idea, but in all honesty it would mean my Zed being off the road for at least 3 years due to lack of free time. As such, it'll remain a pipe dream. For those who are curious - I added up to £12k in parts alone. But that did include buying a lot of off the shelve conversion parts rather than *******ising my own. That number obviously varies depending on the age/mileage of the LSx you use.- Re bushing and NA rear mod
Yeah I read that prior to purchase but went for it anyway. I got them for a good price from Clark Motorsport so worth the risk. I'm hoping to get time to complete the subframe swap in the coming months, until then I won't know if there's an issue. What I can do is measure them when I'm home next week and compare them to OEM?- Re bushing and NA rear mod
http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=W92447&sq=14686 These ones (I think). I'm in Aberdeen at the moment so can't check my receipts folder to confirm. Benefit of these when fitting is that you don't need to save the oem collars. You just remove all the old shell, clean, and fit these. I wasn't looking for an increase over oem performance. Mine were completely shot so anything was going to be better.- Re bushing and NA rear mod
They're in a subframe ready to go on the car. Just haven't had the chance to do the rear end work. I did an awful lot of research prior to purchase which is why I went for them instead of ES polybush ones. - Finally work is about to begin on the Slicky
