  1. nope, it actually has a slightly larger turbo (t25). Small engined, single turbo cars have bigger turbos and more lag than the Zed's twin turbo setup (T22 hybrid).
  2. no, you dont need to remove the dash to replace heater matrix, but it is a fiddly and annoying job. I've seen it done in 3 hours a few times on an Auto. With a manual you need to remove the clutch pedal and booster and takes a little longer.
  3. it used to be the 10 year rule....but they changed it so that any car later than 96/97 must have a model report, regardless of the current year you are trying to import it in.
  4. Agree with Mike, the Falkens are excellent in the Wet, as good if not better than the F1's I used to have.
  5. Mine too, came loose a few times, then broke the top bolt flange. Have seen exactly the same thing on two other zed's over the past few months !
  6. I mentioned fuel, becuase it affects detonation, which would put ecu into safety mode, lowering boost. You should not be getting a 2-3 psi drop in this heat. First line before the 7 (on a Import)...is normal boost. Ignore the stock gauge, its useless.

  8. Soulds like Safety mode , Boost leak or Detting You should'nt be detting on Optimax in this heat on stock boost, unless there is something wrong.
  9. lol Hmm.... I would have to say Im inspired by all of the above listed, they are all a credit to there owners. Plus Im a huge fan of James300's : Chris Greddy's : and Wagz Zed in the U.S : Not that mine will actually look like any of the above, I have my own plans , and thats the same for Engine, interior, handling and all other aspects. Car is now off the road "making it happen", just need to rob a bank to realise all my plans :rolleyes:
  10. Thats the ECU temp sensor, yep if it loses connection it will automatically kick in the auxilery fan. Connectors can be purchased from MJP or any motorfactors (they are a fairly common design)

  12. I believe he changing it for strength when fitting a V8 in it Leader gears do a NA diff gear kit, which is as strong/stronger than the TT set, but with the NA ratio.

Probably boost leak...what boost is it saying ? although make sure you do an ecu test after you have driven the car, without turning it off inbetween. p.s - Judging by your sig pic - I think you were the one that left JAE with myself (in wifes silver NA), Southwestzmech (white TT - going sideaways at Roundabouts) and his dad (Black TT), and drove with us for the first couple of miles ?
  14. my biggest worry would be the injectors, that are maxed out by 16psi and your on 18/19 psi. The tubs are capable and just about efficient up to 18psi, but only really with upgraded intercoolers.
  15. At that boost you have passed the limits of the stock injectors !, the Intercoolers are completely innefficient and the Turbos will be too hot to produce good power. You should be detting badly, Have you checked that they are all stock ?

The Poll is a little unfair, in that those that spent over 3.5k would more than likely have owned there car for a lot longer than those that have took advantage of silly prices lately, so although its a lot more likely a £3k banger will F*ck up, the guy who has had his £7k zed for 4 years has had the car a lot longer to experience problems, That is indeed a rediculous bargain - the reasons for it not selling so far are probably : 1. Location 2. No pictures in advert 3. Zed's rarely actualy sell via this forum 4. The low Price actually puts people off! 5. UK cars are a lot less desirable than they used to be
