  1. I will have one available in about a week. Its a TT manual engine, on 61k miles. Its currently being fully rebuilt by 300zx specialists - SWZ Performance with : new Head gasket new cam seals new rear main seal new rocker cover gaskets Plenum Water bypass EGR Removal New PCV valves 60k Service (Waterpump, Thermostat and Cambelt) Rings and Bearings replaced Engine will be compression tested before made available. Price to be £800-£1000 depending on final rebuild cost.
  2. Removed mine the other day, from memory it is larger than the Front opening so you would need to remove the main rad. It has two bolts at the top and just sits in feet at the bottom, but obviously you would need to undo the Aircon pipes and release the gas (If there is any left, be carefull as R12 is poisonous)
  3. Nissan Dealer or Mike @ MJP will both stock and know the correct size.
  4. More than stock tweed, but prob no more than stock leather. The trouble is Recaro's were fitted to everything from Escorts to Evo's. They have a good brand name, but readily available. Worth more to a zed owner than any other car though, becuase of the specific Seat subframes that are hard to obtain for the 300zx.
  5. Yep, I've not read the article (just had it sumarised to me) but I believe he did say the 300zx was a lot faster, he just preferred the french thing as a classic motor  (no accounting for taste, eh :wack: ) I think the NA Z32 would of actually have been a fairer match for the GTA Turbo !
  6. Welcome :D
  7. They dont give the Pad Name....which does'nt inspire much confidence and thats very very cheap (despite the crap about them being expensive because they are so good). I would go with the Portefields or the Hawk Pads.
  8. Yep, well known but the other way around, The Reno val satis uses the 350z engine.
  9. The Flywheel power looks a bit low based on the RWHP, the correct calculations would put that more at 350bhp Presume torque figure is at the wheels ? Should see some nice improvements by swapping out the JWT
  10. Somebody mentioned the article to me the other day, look forward to reading it. I believe its between Both NA's, and it says something about the 300zx being a lot faster and more reliable. I;ve never been a fan of the GTA, but I know a lot of people are.
  11. Its not to do with heritage, since Nissan and the Z-car range have a vey long running sports and racing heritage, especially compared to any other Japanese model. The Z-car heriitage is one the good things about the Marquee compared to its competitors.
  12. The Post is over 3 years old Richard
  13. PTU is always the most likely item to fail. Also check all connectors for corrosion.
  14. Yep, Similar performance to a stock TT.
  15. 95 onwards came with optional recarco's for the version S, and in 1999 I believe they were available in the version R. You'll probably find the stock zed seats more comfortable and they are a nice design. Not sure if they would be as supportive though and presuably a lot heavier. Electric passenger was available from late 92(series 2) onwards.
  16. Have u tried The zed breakers in traders section - AndyZ @ Supercarparts David @ Ricerocket
  17. LOL...not 5 mins ago I had two teenagers outside the local shop saying the same thing while I was getting in the zed. "its got a Z on the bonnet, so I think its a Zonda"
  18. I thought the same, however I went from 17" to 19" with no noticable affect on ride.....and I am ultra sensitive to ride quality ! I have also since transferred the 19" wheels to my NA, that was on stock 16" before, and yes it slightly firmer on bumps....but in all honestly its hardly anything..and the wife did'nt notice any difference at all. I was very surpised at the ride quality !! I've been in plenty of other types of cars where bigger wheels have a very detremental affect on ride, but not the zed. Unless is down to the Falken 452 tyres its wearing (since tyre choice does play a part in comfort) btw - the 452's are briliiant (I had the most popular zed tyres before - Goodyear F1's)..and more and more zed owners are using them and saying they wont use anything else now.
  19. Suggest Reading the thread again. No zed specialists have made any comments about Coolant contaminating belts! ...and you have just backed up my (obvious) point up - It may only take 1.5 actual hours to replace the waterpump afterwards...but the customer gets charged the Book time....So yes it is a big deal not to replace a part that should of been replaced along with the cambelt. ....and who is the abusive "parrot mechanic" remark aimed at ??
  20. Sorry to hear. Our thoughts are with you and your family. David & Abi
  21. I dont dispute that.....but when Mr.X has to take his car back to a garage becuase his waterpump is leaking and was'nt changed....I bet they dont charge just 1.5 hours labour ! Its all very well saying it only takes 1.5 hours to do it afterwards.....but whatever price the garage charges (and book time is 3 hours) could of been saved ..not to mention the time, hassle....and even more importanty - the Potential serious engine damage from overheating by doing it when it should of been done in the first place !!
  22. Fair point about the Covers, I've only ever done the proper procedure of replacing both waterpump and cambelt. But its about 10mins to tension the belt and if your going by book time then the Cam belt book time is nearly 4.5 hrs. If you do water pump in 1.5 hrs....does it takes 3 hrs extra to remove pipes, top covers and tension belt ?? I just dont agree with the "if it aint broke, dont fix it" attitude when it comes to major service interval items. Its well known that the typical lifespan of the Z32 waterpump is about 60k....if you dont replace it at the same time as the waterpump then you will be shelling out on the extra labour when it should of been done in the first place...many have suffered that mistake !
  23. yep, There are a few Zed's in the states with constant mid 9 sec runs and a fair amount of 10sec zeds
  24. Congrats Jason ! (do I have to call you boss now :D?)
