Fuel Smells!!
All pipes are easily accessable, just need to remove old ones and fit new ones. Need to release fuel pressure first (pull fuel pump fuse, undo petrol cap and turn the car over for a few seconds).

Ten of the best no 300zx????
oh..oh..the supercar debate again..who cares, its just a media invented word for a car thats stupidly expensive, stupidly unreliable and stupidly horrid to drive. The Zed is a Super Sports (and thats better than any "supercar"). Big and heavy/wallowy ? No!....well compared to a Caterham, sure, but it weighs the same as some of the fastest and most impressive "real" cars on the road and at TOTB - Skyline, Supra, M3....etc The reason for the lack of Zed's at TOTB is nothing to do with the cars potential, its just unfortunatly in the UK we only have a small number of of high powered tuned Zed's. In the states or AUS its a completely different story! Next year we will have some competing...maybe even I'll be there !

Auto box info
The autoboxes are a major weak point, the zed specialist garages tend to replace more autoboxes than anything else ! The UK Oil cooler does assist in reliablity though. The Manual gearbox on the other hand is one of the strongest out there. Nissan did a very good job in making the auto perform well in many areas (its actually a couple of tenths quicker in a straight 0-100 run), but in reality the Manuals are a lot quicker (Lighter, More powerfull and less drivetrain friction). Auto's are easier to come by and cheaper but If you have'nt already test drove a manual, then do so, being able to compare them will let you make a fairer opinion.

300zx v Sabaru
Yep, the teg is a lightweight and a modded one could give more powerfull cars a run for there money at lower speeds The trouble is though that low weight is only really an advantage at lower speeds, and the fwd chassis loses a lot of this advantage with traction issues. Stock 300zx TT 1/4 mile is high 13's - low 14's. Although a lightly modded one (and most are - Chip, exhaust, induction,1bar) gives low 13's. Dont forget that the zed is a lot lighter than a GTO though, and does'nt have the 4wd friction loses either.

spark plugs?
Coilpack connectors can be a pain. You need to remove the balance bar to get No.6, watch that the o-rings dont fall inside the plenum when you remove the bar.

Lightening
Slick Pete, BlackMagic, Chunk, Maxsunny and a few others have gone down this route. There is a thread somewhere with a list off all the parts you can replace and the weigth savings..but I cant find it now :-S I would love replacement lightweight targas and tailgate.
