width of a Z
Does'nt include mirros, but 2000cm looks about right (Imports have electric folding mirrors as well, so that shrinks that down some more)

Thats a 60cm difference  LOL

dyno gear?
The problem there is that FWHP is still just a guess with rundown measurement as the drivetrain is not under load, and friction is increased with load. Different vehicles will react differently to varying loads. If you stick to the same gear for measuring vehicles (the one that gives a 1:1 ratio, or closest) and use RWHP then you have a more reliable comparison imo.

Bottom end or top end
Cant really diagnose a noise over the Internet, but around 2500 is the typical rpm to hear a bottom end knock. Bottom end will "usually" give a more hollow Knock, whereas the topend will tap.

dyno gear?
In your case, no difference. Na manual box is same as TT manual box (other than the bellhousing thickness). The only difference between TT and NA ratios, is the rear diff.

Do you love or hate these wheels
To give you an idea, to base wheel sizes on. 8.5" front wheel - Ideal offset 22 9.5" Rear wheel - Ideal offset 35 using the correct size tyres on the above setup is about the max you can go on stock arches. You can use this calculator tool, to compare different widths and ofsets to the above : http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Offsets vs Widths is pretty much spot on. Your just on the limit.....and with the correct size tyres it will be be a nice aggressive stance. Those tyres are narrow for the widths of your wheels though. You dont need the stretch to make them fit, just wasting the wheel width by going for narrower tyres.

The wheels in original post are 10J et+32 not 9.5J , and would extend 1.2cm out more than Car.Mad's pic and 2.5cm more than stock. Its not an Average offset for a 10" wheel, and would require work to make it fit without rubbing. The above would be aggressive, but J1mmytt's is very aggressive.

ecu na to tt
Did you test for spark on all, or just 1 ? I know its a pain to do, but it may be worth pulling out each sparkplug, and cleaning it. If through all the attempted starts she has flooded, then the plugs can fowl and you may even have since rectified the fault by changing ECU/PTU/CAS ..etc but it still wont start becuase of fowled plugs.

Extensive arch modifications and wild offsets would look great, but thats way of what you said about "terrible offsets" and sitting to far inside arch, which was wrong. The wheels mentioned would have a fairly aggressive stance compared to the vast majority of wheel fitments on Z's. They are certainly not terrible offsets that sit too far inside, The rears would actually stick out a little too far (without arch rolling, stretched tyres or silly camber). You have to take into account Width when you work out offset.

Front suspension upgrade
Polybushes - splparts.com and Z1 and conceptzperformance have a long list of available bushes. Bear in mind that most of your stock bushes are being replaced by your adjusable arms, however the bushes inside the hub are not. They can be replaced, but you will need to remove the lot and have the old bushes taken out using a Bushing press. You dont have to remove that brake shield, it can be bend flat and out of the way.

Hmm...not sure, they are little too "pimp" for my liking.
