  1. Those 5 x smd bulbs are the ones i have used a lot around the car, a lot of failures though, out of the 5 on each bulb you may find only 2 or 3 work after a while and some can flicker, worth a try though as they disperse light in all directions, of course when they're all working !! If i didn't have glow dials i would be looking into fitting perhaps 2 x flexible led strips to flood the area with light, to give a crisp fresh white not yellowish look, areas of these strips can also fail but will less noticeable. EDIT: Don't forget when fitting those smd bulbs in the bulb holders they are polarity sensitive, so if they don't work the bulb itself or the bulb holder will need turning 180 degrees, so test before you assemble !!
  2. Only yesterday i watched as a HGV turned very unsurely to go up the road where my parents live, this is fine not a problem but i knew what was going to happen as i discussed with my wife as we proceeded to follow, about 400 yards further on there's a road and at the end of it is a sign 'unsuitable for HGV's', so where did he turn straight down this road with residents parking either side at the terraced homes. There's a sign at the end of this road for a reason, HGV's should go a little further around and it will take them approx 2 or 3 mins longer but gps will probably re route down this unsuitable road which they know damn well they shouldn't turn down as it can lead them into difficulty. Feel for you Richard .
  3. Off the top of my head i think there are 4 or 5 T10 bulbs and one T10 bulb for the low fuel. I did fit red 5 smd ones but i've gone back to stock filament ones as the clear diffusers that are scattered about are designed for them, not saying led or such like, don't work, just that i didn't really see a notable difference. I only have these 4 or 5 stock bulbs fitted for illumination of the needles as i have glo dials in mine. Groover as fit a flexible led strip or strips and believe it works well, i would suggest buy yourself some of this and that, then have a trial and error play about with positions etc. Btw, on early series cars you pick up 12v lights on power with the two screws at the bottom in the centre on the back, cluster dimming switch will work if you pick up here.
  4. Have a good day Lee .
  5. Do you need to upload to youtube and then you can edit to your hearts content there :thumbup1:.
  6. You can sever the lights on dimming wire and it'll then stay at it full brightness 24/7 :thumbup1:.
  7. Very nice but i wouldn't be happy with the duck landing on your targa, should of shooood it off .
  8. Well done Bruce !! I don't have a maf adaptor btw, sorry chum.
  9. Happy birthday and i'll see you Sat :thumbup1:.
  10. For years i fannied around buying 4 and 5mm part worns, just buying what they had in and it's false economy or a quick fix. You know when you buy new they are exactly that, you need good rubber and as said don't scrimp. I got 2 rears which i love and are vredestein ultrac sessanta's and new fronts which are a less well know but with good reviews Nokians and don't regret for one moment the £340.00 I paid for all four.
  11. Happy birthday .
  12. Just me and the 32, at some point Sat perhaps 2pm, staying over 'til the Sunday .
  13. Happy birthday Dave :cool3:.
  14. I'd agree with that Graham, i did have a honing tool for my 49cc little cylinders that i no longer use, as i fubared it as i got it caught in the finned vents that my cylinders have but the bit it did near the spark plug it did very well :cool3:.
  15. On my 2 stroke lawn mowers i see piston damage all the time, is it too far removed from a much larger piston ? I can repair them and you may think this crude but often it involves just rubbing down the barrel with emery cloth and making sure the rings are free and they run again, sure power is down from out of the factory but there's more than enough compression for them to run and get through the grass. The cylinder once 'repaired' is much more badly scored than you're seeing. Isn't the next piston in the pic the same though Graham ? I expect rather than a totally healthy 160 psi per cylinder it'll just be down a bit. Is what you're seeing just wear and tear ?
  16. I agree with that entirely, always no quibble, i have just bought 6 x H3C HID bulbs and was given a good price initially for a pair, i then decided i might as well buy a few more so made a fair offer and the seller was happy, so they're on their way. I also agree with Mr. Groover although i do believe some sellers or back street manufacturers (i've been to HK btw!!) put on 55w stickers on 35w ballasts, so of course selling as 55w units. I have had the odd failure but at roughly a tenner for a pair of ballasts and £6.00 for a pair of bulbs delivered i don't loose sleep over it. Of course in an ideal world you want to pay £50.00 a kit and have it last many many years and be bombproof but for that £50.00 you can buy lots of replacement parts and there's no guarantee, a still Chinese made £50.00 HID kit is going to have longevity.
  17. I bought 4 mikalors for mine Lee not too long ago, i'm 95% you need what you have 10 of in those boost hose clamps and it's 59-63mm.
  18. Haha !!!! Another benefit to paying your subs - after 9 years he should of saved up enough :thumbup1:.
