I realize that !!! Just examined my plate and it's not bad at all, certainly not losing sleep over it, not as good as yours Si, expect we will not find one much better imo.

Send me some inserts then please as I have been thinking about building myself some new headlights and those inserts are just the ticket. My inserts are the stock pre 99 ones but just chrome wrapped and could of been done better, I might spray 'yours' a gunmetal colour.

Not a problem, a little tip don't plug the sheet in to obtain the colour of choice and at night is when it'll look it's best !!

And reading your train of thought......I am able to supply yes an EL sheet so you can back light it, any idea of the desired colour :tongue:.

I can't see my vin plate as it's hidden under a cooling panel, don't remember it showing it's age though on the odd time I see it, can't a bit of duraglit bring it back or is it too far gone ?

That's uncanny as about 10 years ago I got some multi random coloured washer jets for the MX5 - perhaps I shouldn't of said that !!! We still have the car sorned on the drive and they're still fit as they're chrome but not connected up. My wipers on the 32 are still the ones that were on the car when I got it......PIAA Formula Aero Wing, washers jets are stock btw !!

I think the colour should be the same as the headlight inserts which is what you're leaning towards anyway which is literally a 'grey' area...........some say metallic black, gunmetal and even metallic grey but I know you want it like my powder coated plenum !! The other day I was in a pound shop and spotted some 300ml Holts auto spray paint, looked like old one off stock to me but fyi I picked up 2 cans and just for colour reference they are HGREYM16. After a winter of no use I thought my seats looked a little unfed today :no:. First I applied some black wax and this went into all the faded creases, then I polished. Then I applied some simoniz leather care, this is a thick pleasantly smelling cream and goes on real easy and satisfying, then a buff up and all is good again in the world :thumbup1:.

I don't know about the 17, 18 bit but expect one will be ground, so if you ground the bulb at the rear with the black you will not need to connect to both at the pod. Connect a simple spaded blade fuse in line as it'll be no bother to do so.

Now you both are making me feel guilty as I've not been out and measured :laugh:.

If a mod wants to go ahead and remove the details above it's fine with me.
