I know......reverse light panels AGAIN !!
I am well and truly a one trick pony I know . But I follow 'customer' remits and these are two more completed today. Not going to say who they're for but let them comment if they so wish. In the foreground is a genuine 99 spec one and as is the way these days the 300ZX lights up red of course with my unique work - both are not powered up in the pic so you could say in daytime mode. The other just a normal one to start with, complete with my red 300ZX work also that mimics the genuine units, this lights up also, both are provided with the invertor to carry out this job. You will notice this one is not as long as the other, because quite obviously is for a swb :whistling:.

Thank you Jimmer & Znut - Charity Donation.
Having made the donation I can sit more comfortably now, as at some point both yourself and Jimmer paid for the items and on searching the internet for them I know what value they are and therefore what it would of cost me to purchase. I have had rep and thanks galore so I know I have made the right move in doing what I have done .

Dyno predictions?
Just glancing through yours and everybodys posts Rich, there's no mention of clutch, is it uprated ?

1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level
Ready for dropping items off at the powder coaters now, balance bars are already smooth so this as just been wire wheeled, this will done in chrome. I found I also got good results with the wire wheel on the throttle bodies/linkages, then I did put a touch of polish on and ran the polishing denim wheel on them, paying special attention to the visible parts which isn't much btw, so I have these just really clean :thumbup1:. I have bought some new bolts and offered them in for this pic.

Thank you Jimmer & Znut - Charity Donation.
I required some throttle body gaskets so on searching the forum I came across a thread where Jimmer said he had some, emailed him and politely also asked about the idle valve gasket, he had this also - wouldn't accept any payment whatsoever :cool3:. A few weeks later I sent a pm to Znut, optimistically really enquiring if he had rocker cover gaskets and a plenum gasket, his reply said I was a lucky so and so as he had all 3 !! Result and again after practically begging him to pay he would ignore all my request for a paypal address !! I must also say that I did hold something for Brian that he wanted for many months, this what not a problem for me but the sale of his zed meant he no longer needed and so he told me thank you in a pm and would send me one of his fine hand crafted boost leak detectors, the gaskets were something extra I was more than willing to pay for however. So below is a pic of the 'free' goodies I got from these extremely kind members, two gaskets are offered in and one is spare and so I have made a charitable donation for cancer research of £40.00 plus the paypal gift aid of an extra £10.00, which can be seen on the justgiving link . http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?176761-Mrs-Mondo-s-doing-the-Race-For-Life&highlight=cancer https://www.justgiving.com/brighter-broken-bulb

1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level
Not too bad actually, fingers are aching a tad but I do have skin, I've never seen as much wrist action since I was a teenager !!! No plans on going out, in fact I have my balance bar to remove and prep and also to polish the throttle bodies, linkages, etc. You are probably right on the 2500, I have rubbed the plenum again here and there today with 400 grit and just left it at that this time, if my powder coater guy says it needs to be better as it'll show, I shall return back to the sink. My rockers are practically ready as they are and these will be a chrome look powder coat, just gave the front bits (don't know what they're called !!) some special attention as these are very visible once fit, just rounds them off a bit also :thumbup1:.

Answered via email post 29. Having a plenum still in the car I kept refering to it and seeing which areas were visible and needed the most attention and so after a little more dremel work, I took to the fingers, starting off at grit 36, then 80, 120, 240, 320, 400, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000 and finally 2500, after about 4 hours I have it very very smooth and I expect more than good enough for a superb powder coated finish. I only polished up with the denim mop and a little wet G3 in a small area just to prove to myself that I can do it, here's a pic.

I am not bud, I am taking out all imperfections and knobbly bits and then I want the finish to be as near perfect as possible, so it will end up polished but I am sticking with a gunmetal powder coating, rockers and balance tube will also have the powder finish but will be near as chrome as is possible for a coaters, so will give me a little contrast. I am contemplating doing the front water pipes in the gunmetal to match the plenum - as you well know I have two sets here all polished at the moment ready to go . EDIT : Btw, the throttle bodies, etc will be polished.

Think I read somewhere that the plenum can be done in a day !! Well I keep going back to mine and had another couple of hours on it today with my new best friends the angle grinder with 80, 120 and 240 orbital sanding discs and the dremel which I keep loading up with the small 80 grit drums for the crannies. It's coming along nicely and I realize it's all gonna be in the prep for that perfect finish, going to go through with the papers by hand and have it at the polished finish stage in a day or so :cool3:.

Indicator buzzer connection question
The ebay link I put in now doesn't work but this isn't uncommon after the passing of time, the link really needs removing and an instruction to search for 12v buzzers will probably work better.

Indicator buzzer connection question
What about this, I have removed mine so I cannot just go out and take a pic and it seems I didn't take any at the time, sorry. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?136707-To-Fit-An-Indicator-Buzzer

Where do I get..
It's a placebo thing, if you don't pay through the nose for something then it must be rubbish, some take solace in paying a lot for practically the same product :hammer:.

What difference will that make.........mine's black ?

my build thread
Finished the lights today Tom as I promised so here's a better pic after a good polish. Don't forget everybody the 300ZX lights up a strong crisp red when wired up to the tail lights :thumbup1:. Double diffuser put in on the clear indicator lens to mimic the genuine 99's and also help to disguise the bulb hot spot completely.
