BOT attack on our server
No point, but people can be dicks. DoS attacks designed to flood a server with connections to a point it simple can't cope and crashes. The attack come from multiple places at once so hard to combat by trying to block it. But the ones against our server are tiny so no harm to us really.

BOT attack on our server
And another BOT attack this morning. Like a fart in the wind, barely registered it and forgotten about just as quickly.?

Tapatalk
Exactly, I get this too and hence the reason to see what peoples views are. I just want to ditch it as its no longer needed.

I have an android phone and use chrome, never had an issue and always found it very simple to get onto the site. It would likely take me longer to add an icon now that i'm used to the way i do things on my phone.

Yeh, Tapatalk is a relic to the old forums and it is still used by some. Personally I never liked it even in the old days of the club. That aside, welcome and hopefully we can see your zed shortly.

So who's all still using Tapatalk. There always seems to be issues with this app and as the club works fine without it I'd love just to hit the kill button.

Welcome, For a start try using the site without tapa talk. I find it causes more issues than its worth. Access the site as a normal site as its perfectly mobile friendly.

BOT attack on our server
Looks like we just has a Denial of Service attack on our server. Funny as we have a fairly powerful server for what we use it for courtesy of yours truly and the whole attack summed up a total of 5% CPU when i checked. Only thing it has done is up our most users online to 1659 which is displayed at the bottom of the site pages.

Changes to the Club Site
Hi all, I'd like to break down some recent changes we have made in regards to layout of the club site and the general experience we all get from it. First off you may have noticed a massive reduction in the forums sections and categories available. Unfortunately many of these sections are no longer active and haven't been for some time so we thought best to simplify what we used most and merge the various sections together, nothing has been archived and you will find all content still available in the general discussions sections. One of the things as a club that we need to protect is the wealth of information collated over the years into the Technical Area / FAQ's sections. As such this information will only be available to Premium Members as part of an annual Membership Subscription. Along with the Technical Area we have decided again that selling on the club of any sort is now only permissible with a full Premium Membership. If you are wishing to sell on our club, whether it be a part out or selling your full car then you must have a Premium Subscription. Membership information and costs are available here : https://www.300zx.co.uk/membership/ In regards to issues reported with our search engine; these have been resolved. To explain why we had an issue i would need to go into depths of coding and how the database works, the short of it is there was a default restriction of 4 letters to a search word so the likes of three letter words would not show, ie, oil, tps, tpm, rad and so on. If you do have an issue with search functions or any other issues please open a new thread in the forum issue tracker here : https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forum/118-forum-issue-tracker/ Lots of changes for the better. Any questions please let us know.

Bumped into Kitt
Visiting a new client yesterday and when i arrived i got invited into the warehouse for a quick chat. On entry to the warehouse i saw about 15 classic motors ranging from an old morgan to what looked like a 90's style F1. But as i turned around my jaw suddenly dropped and my childhood wet dream was made a reality. Behold a fully working replica of the Knight Industries Two Thousand otherwise know to all as K.I.T.T. I got a full tour and also a quick sit down inside to experience this 1 to 1. Wow, so many buttons and everything had a purpose and was fully working.

Winter Garage Queens
When shit like this breaks - no-one seems to report it. When the site software updates the search defaults back to 4 character searches. I've now put it back to 3 but it will take an hour to rebuild the index.

Snow!
Average of -10 in Troon at the moment but no sign of snow, just a shit load of frost.

OFF SIDE HEADLIGHT
Here is a good thread that details the components of them : https://bloozeown.weebly.com/body/post-129-jdm-versus-usdm-headlights

OFF SIDE HEADLIGHT
The method generally to separate them is to stick the full unit in an oven to soften the bonding used. There is also about 8 metal bands that hold the glass to the plastic.
-
OFF SIDE HEADLIGHT
Nope, The glass is bonded to the plastic of the fitting, there is 4 nuts on the underside to remove the fitting. The whole unit can come out without fully removing the bumper but you will need to remove fogs / indicators to get to the bolts.
