  1. I changed over the steering wheel today, going from a stock airbag model to a momo Took a bit of effort to get the stock one off; done all the usual safety stuff first like disconnected the battery and popped the cover of the connections under the wheel and disconnected it there two just incase it blew whilst i was doing it. I took the momo out of the old zed and then noticed that the horn assemble differs and that I needed the white part that holds the indicators round swapped too, and all because of the wee springy metal tab that needs to touch the mobo wheel. Anyways heres the pic of the silver zed minus the momo : And the momo fitted tempory to the black zed : I said tempory fitted because i'm planning to strip down the interior still and didn't think it was worth assembling everything again.
  2. Welcome to the club buddy! Been here myself only for a few months but I can say it's the best club ever with great members all willing to give a hand or advice when needed ! Enjoy !
  3. Well spotted!
  4. untill ten minutes ago i never had a steering wheel !
  5. Just added poll for what colour I should do the respray !
  6. looking at getting a new paint job in a few months and was thinking of getting the car done in metalic purple - first quote in for a full respray was 1850 - estimated. found this on the net and thought it looked cool http://www.kumberamotors.com/cars.htm?l=&id=488
  7. Day two of the new zed project and thankfully the weathers good. So cracking on I started to replace the other two wheels round from the silver zed. When i bought this last week it was thought that the split rims had a leak and that one of the tyres needed pumped up every few days; well taking off the suspect wheel i discovered the real issue - would you believe i traveled over 350 miles with this stuck in. Anyways afer footering about with the other side of the vailside skirt this is what she looks like from the other side, perfectly legal again to drive with half decent alloys on her. Next job starting shortly will be to start stripping out the interior - and i mean all of it ! till then !
  8. first side of the zed done with alloys changed over this is what she now looks like, great improvment already !
  9. when i took the wheels off I had the opertunity to take the screws out for the skirts. scared of what i was going to find i slowly gripped the skirts and lifted it off to reveal : nothing, lol, perfect body work all round - what thinking the kit was hiding a nasty surprise but all was ok It started pouring down so packed up what tools I had out before I was totally drenched and will continue again when the weathers a bit better.
  10. and now we begin, first off from the donor car - the alloys, The current alloys on the black zed are badly need of a refurb but i much prefer the chrome shiny new ones i've got on the silver, so two jacks later and zeds lined up i remove the first wheels to swap over.
  11. First off some pics of what she looks like when i got her :
  12. Just bought a 1996 Twin T Auto - Series 4 in Black. Its currently got a cloth interior and a badly fitted veilside kit which I plan to remove and sell on shortly. Using my other 1991 NA i'm planning as using that as a donor car and swap over all the goodies i like on that. Let the games begin
  13. Start charging £5 for bottles of water !
  14. Going up to Glasgow this Saturday to see about the bits needed, and going to compare the two zeds to see what I've missing !

  16. Just bought a 1996 TT with no cruise and it appears to have the harness for cruise. Its a series 4 zed so maybe they started using the same harness in the later of the series !
  17. Craig, I'll def have your old front, just need a rear now ! taking the front n rears off the silver z then getting a paint job on the full motor
  18. Got any front and rear bumbers ?
  19. well looking for a cruise kit to add to the 96 zed, need the one with the stalk as putting a momo wheel on it too. Does the series 4 have the wiring loom already in it as theres a plug hanging next to the ecu where the cruise stuff should go.
  20. hoped it was cruise for a sec there. You cant tell from pic but theres another connection hanging from the loom just above the box on the left, do the series 4 zeds have the wiring loom ready for cruise as standard now. Was looking to add in cruise laters
  21. Hi folks, Just bought a 1996 TT auto and wondered what the box on the left is next to the ecu ? My zed doesn't have cruise which I thought this box could be, Any ideas?
