  1. Righty-o As most people know i've got two zeds, a NA and a TT ! I've receently removed both plenums in order to do a plenum swap ! I've been told theres no reason this cant be done but heres the problem i'm now facing ! The Silver NA has two hard copper pipes that join into the plenum as the picture below shows : Now the problem is on the plenum off the TT there is actually just two cover plates which seal over the two holes, my 96 TT doesn't have these pipes and when trying to fit the plenum from the TT everything nearly lines up but the pipe bracket the bolts go into on one side angle has changed and now does not fit ! Can anybody tell me if these pipes can be eliminated or do i need to find another NA plenum ? Second is i'm looking to spray the top of the engine which is under the plenum; think its the camshaft covers, can anyone tell me if these could take being powder coated or will i just have to do a rattle can? Cheers
  2. Yip, He loves the C%ck ! Most people i know with skylines are C%cks !
  3. Right, I was planning to re assemble the black zed first but i'm totally skint and need to buy some new hoses first so today I started to work on the silver zed instead. With both plenums off I started to clean up the underneath by removing all the extra piping now not required when doing a water bypass, I also took both plenums outside and gave them a good going over with the water jeti, I was amazed by how much cleaner the TT plenum looked after I was done. Back inside I took my trusty hair dryer and spent 30 minutes forcing air threw all the holes to dry the interior off; to be fully sure no water was left inside I sat the two plenums upright forced the throttle boddies open and blasted 1800w of hot air in as I held my hand over the other holes. Since the plenum was off the silver zed I thought i'd take a peek inside and see how she looked, amazingly clean for a zed !
  4. Love those alloys ! Looks like the turbines off a jet engine !
  5. Aggresive looking now ?
  6. Same as above, but seen a zed and thought too many skylines n no enough zeds !
  7. could likely get the paint work to match better if i worked on it !
  8. Ok, Heres my quick attempt - what you all think ?
  9. Would look gr8 with a front 99 spec ! Who can Photoshop one in !!
  10. lol, totally skint ! so not bought anything yet but shrek says try z1, also see that zcentre does alot of pipes too !
  11. Right ! Totally gave up on the black zed the other night as no matter how much I tried the Plenum just refused to move. However I calmed down after all my frustration and gave it another shot and this time -- SUCCESS !! It finally came free, well after some wd40 and mr stanley it did. Not the best of pics but here's the beast hidden below : { you can see my shoe string holding down the bonnet so that its not flapping in the wind ! } And heres both the pollished plenum and current plenum sitting on my bench ready for some cleanup work to commense at the weekend ! Still to do a water bypass and remove all those pipes on the plenum. A weekend job for it - just hope the weather holds out !
  12. Come over any time, most nights I'm home for 6 but less than an hours light left after that time to do anything worth while. I'll likely be working on it again this weekend, although I'm skint at the moment and need to buy some new hoses, first job to do is a general tidy up and clean, then need to check what pipes I need to replace.
  13. Cheers!! Finally got the plennum of the black zed today, gonna clean her up a bit then need to buy some new hoses to do a water bypass, also need new front pipes as I took a saw to the oem pipes to get them off ! Will let you know how I get on !
  14. Bottle of oasis from the vendi at work !
  15. Bad injector cable or earth !
  16. I'm in, kinda ! Stripped down the plenum today and busted a few hoses, So need to fix that first, maybe we can have a meet at my bit and you can all help fix the mess I've made ! Lol
  17. If theres problems with it why did you buy it ?
  18. it came off really easy, I did manage to get myself covered in fuel when i removed the fuel filter, even after pulling the fuel pump relay and starting her to relieve the pressure. I was so busy pulling one side of the pipes that when it came off the air rushed in the top end and flushed all the fuel still in the pipe out at the other end of the hose. I managed to grap the other end leaning over the engine before it all came out then I got stuck in a compromising position, I couldn't put the pipes down as they would empty more fuel and one pipe was still attached to the engine so couldn't move. And thats when i noticed the tools needed to pull the last bit off were out of reach. I could have phoned the wife to give us a hand but decided not to as the risk of selve combustion was too great. I'll be more carefull next time.
  19. Funny thats this topic comes up as I just pulled my pollished plennum off my NA today!
  20. Def not his ! And is that a rattle can job ? Suspect can sitting on the rear window !
  21. I've had the two zeds back from the shop for a few days now and while it was there it had a new water stat installed, water pipes swapped over and it also had the other exhaust changed. Today I done my first plenum pull ! I'm doing this as its cheaper than getting the current one pollished up and I just don't have the patience to do it myself. I followed a few different guides but in the end just winged it and removed the abvious before giving it a tug. First off I removed the fuel filter and braided hoses and everything else ontop ! Removed the coil packs unbolted the plenum and gave her a wee tug free. For my first plennum pull it took me less than 2 hours as I was taking my time, this is an NA egine so i'm expecting the TT to be a little bit tougher for when i finally switch them both over. Here is the plennum finnaly off I'll give the TT plenum removal a bash tomorrow !
