  1. So my engine noise is more or less the crank pulley slipping so needs changed. What does everyone recomend ? Stick with the oem and get a new crank damper pulley or get an alluminum pulley from the likes of japseed http://www.japspeed.co.uk/nissan-300zx-lightweight-aluminium-crank-pulley.html I'd prefer not to hear any excess noise and also avoid having to buy new belts too.
  2. Lol, he left it in moderation. Now moved.
  3. Going to replace all the seals while I have the box out. I'm guessing I have to drain the box of fluid before unbolting the back end ? What's the best way to drain it when its off the zed, and will giving the whole thing a power wash do it any harm ?
  4. Also had a good look inside the end of the bell housing and there is an excess of oil in there. So maybe its a good time to replace all the oil seals and gaskets.
  5. Drilling a hole though it did the trick; and a little bit of heat from a burner. I then inserted a screw driver extension and gave it a hit with a mallet.
  6. Had too unfortunately as one of them is broke and wont come off. I'll likely need to take a drill to it and try push a small bar through it to spin it off.
  7. This is a pic of the full of my gearbox and as you can see its a UK box. Its had the oil pipes bypassed but I wanted to get rid of them completely, so can I just find two bolts and plug up the holes ?
  8. This is the remains of part of the neutral switch and reverse switch. Both ends were damaged and looks like they had been tugged at but not sure when. The other one is more than securely grafted to the gear box and i'm going to have to find some other way of getting it off as the socket and spanners just spin on it now.
  9. So here is my speed sensor removed and it spins and looks ok; but does anyone know of a way to test it?
  10. Next I move onto the sensors, namely the speed, neutral and reverse switch. These are a complete bugger to get into and after getting a good light under the zed I realised that the neutral switch and reverse light switch look fairly buggered. Only fix was to get them out so I stripped everything off and dropped the box out the zed :) To be honest this is the first time that I've removed the gearbox on my drive and by myself so it was interesting doing it.
  11. Wow, Going in reverse gear now with my build and after the issues with my speedo and reverse lights I decided to strip down the starter cable and inspect the loom again going to the gearbox. Below is what I thought my issue was but after doing various tested i'm sure the loom is working.
  12. Done a seperate switch myself, just took a new live feed from the ignition and run a cable back to reverse lights and converted them to LED.

Yeh, I spoke to him briefly on Sunday as we were packing up.
  14. Cracking pictures Gaz. What was the port that the ferry stopped at ? Was it some sort of maritime museum as I thought what looked like a submarine in the first pictures.
  15. I used dot 5.1 on mine just pre mot and had issues with my brakes. Not likely related to the 5.1 but I flushed it all through and then used dot 4 and mine a great now after the caliper rebuild.
  16. Happy Birthday Lee :)
  17. This is a great action shot and I've no idea what I was even talking to Stewart about.
  18. Nope, don't have a clue. I've had the dash dismantled back to the bulkhead and there is nothing like that. Guessing its a one off DIY job to fix something and just a coincidence its jap :)
  19. just noticed the wording at the bottom, very well done !
  20. I always thought uk spec plates are too big for a 99 spec front. However if you shave down the sides that have the extra white space i think it will look very nice. Gaz has done this with his and it looks great :)
  21. Sorry, This is a really old pic, I was teaching tulip how to upload pictures.
  22. Now at Gretna Services.
  23. That's me just leaving Troon with the zed on my way to JAE ! ETA 6 - 8 Hours. :)
