  1. This is the remains of part of the neutral switch and reverse switch. Both ends were damaged and looks like they had been tugged at but not sure when. The other one is more than securely grafted to the gear box and i'm going to have to find some other way of getting it off as the socket and spanners just spin on it now.
  2. So here is my speed sensor removed and it spins and looks ok; but does anyone know of a way to test it?
  3. Next I move onto the sensors, namely the speed, neutral and reverse switch. These are a complete bugger to get into and after getting a good light under the zed I realised that the neutral switch and reverse light switch look fairly buggered. Only fix was to get them out so I stripped everything off and dropped the box out the zed :) To be honest this is the first time that I've removed the gearbox on my drive and by myself so it was interesting doing it.
  4. Wow, Going in reverse gear now with my build and after the issues with my speedo and reverse lights I decided to strip down the starter cable and inspect the loom again going to the gearbox. Below is what I thought my issue was but after doing various tested i'm sure the loom is working.
  5. Done a seperate switch myself, just took a new live feed from the ignition and run a cable back to reverse lights and converted them to LED.
  6. JaiKai replied to tulip's topic in Events - UK
Yeh, I spoke to him briefly on Sunday as we were packing up.
  7. Cracking pictures Gaz. What was the port that the ferry stopped at ? Was it some sort of maritime museum as I thought what looked like a submarine in the first pictures.
  8. I used dot 5.1 on mine just pre mot and had issues with my brakes. Not likely related to the 5.1 but I flushed it all through and then used dot 4 and mine a great now after the caliper rebuild.
  9. Happy Birthday Lee :)
  10. This is a great action shot and I've no idea what I was even talking to Stewart about.
  11. Nope, don't have a clue. I've had the dash dismantled back to the bulkhead and there is nothing like that. Guessing its a one off DIY job to fix something and just a coincidence its jap :)
  12. just noticed the wording at the bottom, very well done !
  13. I always thought uk spec plates are too big for a 99 spec front. However if you shave down the sides that have the extra white space i think it will look very nice. Gaz has done this with his and it looks great :)
  14. Sorry, This is a really old pic, I was teaching tulip how to upload pictures.
  15. Now at Gretna Services.
  16. That's me just leaving Troon with the zed on my way to JAE ! ETA 6 - 8 Hours. :)
  17. So its passed it MOT, will be working on a few bits tonight and heading to JAE tomorrow morning early. As a wee prize for passing the wife gave me these : And also this arrived in the post but i'm still needing a BOSS for it.
  18. We rebuilt the front end last night and its alot quieter than previously. So i think the bottom crank pulley that drives the likes of the power steering and alternator needs changed.
  19. Rebuilt front end and noise is certainly dampened down. this confirms its not the engine but more than likely something loose or bearings in a pulley. [video=youtube_share;MVnUdvgZn9Q]
  20. Front end pulleys stripped down to find the noise. [video=youtube_share;MpxHc2vJ_bE]
  21. [video=youtube_share;VEzLTSF6XaU]
  22. Stop taking pics in portrait ! When a picture is saved by the likes of iphones and android they save meta data to the picture to describe the likes of orientation. This information is usually ignored by websites and it will display as it normal should.
  23. So on the bases of passing the MOT tomorrow how do I secure this tonight ! Come on folks get the blue peter thoughts on the table !! :)
