  1. On the rears the fitment was a lot simpler but as you likely can see the bracket at the back is actually upside down, I did this as the length of the new hose was too long and the positioning of the clamp made the hose nearly kink and I found this to be a better fit.
  2. What a hell of a day. So with the help of a friend all my callipers and brake pipes have now been fitted if what a bit incorrectly on the rears. I lost one of the brackets for the front right and ended up fitting everything without them as shown : The good news is the wife found the bracket 10 minutes before packing up for the night so I plan to have another bash at fitting them and bleeding the brakes again. After fitting everything and following a guide on the order of bleed the pedal still feels very soft. My zed has abs but I cant find any bleed nipples on it so how do I get the remaining air out if all the brake lines to the wheels seem to have solid clear fluid in them ? Also had issues with the small C clamps in that they are too large for my hoses so I've had to use tie wraps to secure them at the top.
  3. Nice, Was looking at the 19" as my tyres are brand new. If I can get them to fit I would go for 10.5 on the back and 9.5 on the fronts. Cant mind the spec of the tyres I have at the moment so have to wait till I get home tonight.
  4. Your birthday, do what needs must !!
  5. Would likely cost in the region of £1300 so cant get them at the moment. The only issue apart from funds is working out the offset as the current alloys don't have any markings on them. I think I'm currently running on 19x245x35 and I also think the rims are 9.5.
  6. Now I don't want to get Si worked up too much but thinking about getting these. And here's a quick photoshop to show what they would be like.
  7. Happy Birthday Stewart. Have a beer, chill out then get that zed fixed. :)
  8. cant be this week or next due to prepping my car for JAE then I hopefully will be at JAE itself but in a few weeks could be a go.
  9. yes it would but just haven't touched it yet :) This was just a test fit so plan to do some more work on them before the weekend.
  10. Its clearly 1/2 the size near enough. But in my case its handy as my sandwich plate adds an inch to the overall size.
  11. On a final not after I drained the oil tonight I decided to refill it with fresh semi synthetic 10w40. The old that came out was fully synth at 10w45 and it was very dark for being in the engine for only a month with minimum running time. I'm guessing as the engine has been sitting for a year all the crap got cleaned out with the first stuff.
  12. Last job of the night was a test fit of the callipers I painted.
  13. Next issue was the blow back correctly diagnosed by groover. I started her up again then had a look underneath for any tell tale signs and I found it : This is the joint of the centre section of the exhaust and hard to see but they have a gap in the gasket. They are fairly tight and even if I forced them closed further I might end up stripping the bolts. I was thinking that if I hack saw off the link in the middle should that free them up for a better connection ? I also noticed that there was a fair amount of water dripping out of here too. You can see the water in this pic and also the large gap between the joins.
  14. Now that my zed is home for some tender care I thought i'd put her up on some axle stands to fix some of the issues I've had. First was the oil filter which was replaced with a new HKS. Then I tackled the issue of the damaged loom cable going to the gear box. So I stripped the melted loom down to discover that none of the internal cables were actually exposed. Bugger so something else is blowing the fuse and I now have another problem on my hands. taped the whole thing back up and pushed it away from the down pipes which melted it in the first place.
  15. So here is a few pics of the new HKS oil filter vs the old larger style.
  16. ok, So Stewart just sent me this video of his zed that squeals. A local mechanic suspects it could be a cam pulley, what everyones thoughts. And mind that we need to get this to JAE, how easy is a cam belt pulley to fix and costs for the parts ? [video=youtube_share;d5QTXhkyFms]
  17. Some crackin looking zeds on this thread :) Keep them coming.
  18. Gaz i saw your thread that you used to have one of these from a few years ago. Do you min it being this small ?
  19. Yeh, I told Stewart that so hopefully he can do it himself, i'm not the kind of guy to play with another mans nipples. :)
  20. Yeh, This one seems tiny. i'm sure its the same thread but don't want to try it just yet, I've emailed the company I bought it from.
  21. Just bought a new HKS oil filter and it arrived today but it looks tiny to me ! Sure the thread size is ok but its only 60mm compared to the 75mm of a normal one. Here's its pictured next to a coke can for scale.
  22. Its ok now, I sold my old discs to stewart and his discs were thinner, but turns out he had old discs with new calipers. Explains why his brakes were pish. Just needs a piston pusher for the calipers to get them back in to allow the discs to be put on.
  23. Can you directly transplant the rotors from a TT to an NA ? Both zeds use aluminium callipers but the TT disc seems to be thicker.
  24. Also heard he has signed of for a sequal to world war z
