  1. Decided to go the whole hog and strip it all the way down. :) There's a number of good teardown videos on youtube so i'll just take my time.
  2. Just to give everything a good going over and deep clean. The engine at some point has had a bad upper plenum seal so its caked in oil. I just thought stripping it down further would allow to do a more thorough job and also inspect the top of the heads.
  3. This is where i'm currently at with my rebuild. Not planning a full strip down but rather clean and replace everything I can before putting the engine back. The question is should I strip any further than this ? There is a fair amount of oil residue and also general muck under the lower plenum so I want to clean the full thing up as much as I can myself.
  4. I believe they are JWT500 Hybrids.
  5. whats that usually cost ? Anybody had a set of turbo's rebuilt recently ?
  6. Bought a set of hybrid turbos which myself and the seller presumes were good. Further inspection it looks as if the blades on the turbos are damaged so now i'm in need of some advice. Preferably I would like to keep them so what would it take to replace the blades or the full cores if needed. This is only one of the cores and I've not yet inspected the other. Looks to me as if its debris damage of some sort.
  7. mmm, 20 litres of red garage paint has arrive :)
  8. Only two more panels to hand into my painters next week but I wanted to ensure that they were in perfect condition, so I spent some time in the booth stripping them down. Heres a few before and after shots but only managed to do one and its still needs work.
  9. Order is still pending, why do these things take longer if you can't wait, its been two full days without a status update. :(
  10. That is awesome, Shame they didn't start production last year as just spent a fortune on parts. original post here : https://drivetribe.com/p/b4RvFVtASraLESsOVPUJEQ?iid=fZ2p76uGTw-7uPutEMWkjQ

  12. No idea, The default usually shows about a month of posts, but its a fairly quite area of the forum.
  13. Change the filter at the bottom from last day to beginning.
  14. Thanks again for your continued support :)
  15. Only the main public section is viewable when not logged in. Events and classifieds are Public area's but are seperate from the main 'Public Forum' section. Your correct in that they dont show up until you login but that is how its always been. Its done like this to protects members data from search bots that scan forums for email addresses and phone numbers.
  16. Click the classifieds button on the top toolbar will take you directly to the selling section which is in a public viewable area :)
  17. Where are you looking ? Can you post a link.
  18. Classifieds are open to all to view and the meets are also in the public area.
  19. LWB has an impact bar along the back and Styrofoam in the bumper, Maybe fatter to give better protection to the fuel tank ?
  20. That's it on the floor, but still have a set of Meisters to fit and adjustable caster / camber arms.
  21. Stripped the front of the engine today and started with getting all the cam-belt pulleys off, Then I made the rookie mistake in thinking that how could there be any water left in the block, Just as I thought this might not be a great idea I took the last bolt out the water pump and wacked it with a mallet. The result was two fold, I successfully got the pump off aswell as drain the block straight onto the floor :(. I'll be ordering up a full belt kit, water pump and new tensioner so that its all done.
  22. Got a new set of these myself. On my last build i replaced all the rubbers for new everywhere on the zed, removed them all again when it was a rightoff. Cost upwards of £1000 to replace everything but well worth it. Even the fealing of the way the doors closed was different.
  23. Just found out the full story of the engineers trip : He was called to a job in Skye up north as the till system and wifi went down. Over 6 1/2 hours to get there to discover that a switch had been unplugged by the cleaner to use the hoover. The engineer had to stay a night up there and travel back the next day.
  24. would have been cheaper to call a local spark and get them to do it. The company that owns my work also have an engineering firm and our engineers have traveled 6+ hours to turn a plug on that some idiotic staff member unplugged to get the phone charger working. Happens all the time.
