We were up to 11:30 last night finishing off what we could, just a few snagging parts to do but the main build is now complete.

Roof panels are now on and we are working on the rubber EPDM rubber roof to make it water tight.

More than a few hours since the last update but I was away this morning and just got back. The boys are now onto the roof level and have just started to do the roof slats.

Builders have stopped for the night but they will be back tomorrow. They managed to get up to about 5' in height which was really good going considering they never started until after 2pm.

We have a door now :)

Building has finally started.

Seems to be a late starter as he still hasn't showed up yet. :(

Was up to 10:30 last night sorting it all out; until we started getting eaten alive by the local midgy population. Just waiting for the builder to show up and we can start the build.

And Puke !! Nothing against mods to a zed; hell half of my underbody to my zed is aftermarket. Its the kids trying the fast and furious look with neon lights and such that I hate, in my area its usually on a corsa.

He may be, lol ¬ only kidding Jeff :) But he is kinda right, not long ago there was a short wheel zed in my neighbourhood with go fast stripes, huge ass spoiler and neon lights under it in which my opinion is just copying the fast and furious genre. The guy who owned it was only interested in showing it off and had no respect for the zed in its natural state. Much so that soon as it developed issues he parted with it. Hopefully the days of bad body kits and bad taste extras like stripes, neon lights will slowly fade away and be forgotten. The zed will live on as a classic and those chavs can no longer afford them as the prices start to go up again.

I've known about these since 2009 when I bought my first zed :)

Getting build this Saturday.

Up bright and early this morning as my garage arrived at 7AM. :) I was only expecting one pallet but they offloaded two as well as a large grey one which was my garage door. Next step is to organise the builders to start putting this puzzle together.

The correct tool for the right job, ordered up a proper tool to fit the valve keepers and now they are all fitted properly. Everything nice and clean and the lifters rebuilt and fitted again. Placed some paper towels over the top until I can get to the bigger garage to fit the cam shafts.

New garage should be arriving on Wednesday on a huge 13' pallet. Wont be built for another week but exciting stuff when it arrives.

Hi Alana, Don't let him sell whatever you do, its the worst mistake and he will regret it soon as its done. I've hit hard times and lost nearly everything previously, also lost the heart to carry on with my current project many times. I've had great support from my wife and kids and its her that helps me get through it all and gives me the energy to carry on. Its an emotional road trip that both of you will have to go on and that's part of zed life. Some people look at our cars and don't understand the connection we have with them and the fact that he is willing to give that up for you and your family shows how strong the connection he has with you. We as a club are just as much family and maybe he needs some moral support by getting together and going out for a meal. Its been a few years since we all got together and i'm sure my girls would love to have a day out somewhere. Also you are both welcome to come down the coast and if you want I can show you my project, have a good chat about his and also go over the abundance of parts i'll soon have spare that he can take a pick from.
