  1. Visited the body shop today and they were happy to say that I could have my zed back at the end of next week. Few of the panel details I snapped today :
  2. i believe its the third one along. Just use a spare bit of wire and test it, ground the wire to the steering column.
  3. Saying that is it a three or a 4 prong connector ? Is that zed a series 4 and used to have an airbag; as you will have to get a resistor to fix that too.
  4. Three prong cable inserts into the black connection block, one of the three cables usually green i think wires through the boss and connects directly to the horn button. When the button is pushed the connection is grounded to the steering rack and the horn sounds. Dont connect anything to that screw on the back or the horn will sound constantly.
  5. You need the little cable that plugs in to that in top part in the middle. Only one stand of the cable is used from the plug and it just needs to ground to the steering rack to sound the horn. On the Momo you should have a push button that the cable connects to with a spade connector. Luke sells these but they come with the full boss so will skin you 60 bux.
  6. Agreed, There has been so many hit and runs on our street aswell as vandalism. Just tonight the wife found someones dogs dirt bag pushed into our hedge, unfortunately I was a victim of my own technology in that I had the setting up too high and ended up with too much footage to search though. I did find a couple of boys throw a rock at the neighbours caravan then scarper after they did it.
  7. What's everyone's views on Community CCTV ? I've had cctv for a long time now but I've just got my hands one two Hikvision 12MP Fish Eye cameras that I've dually installed. Now I say community as they pick up a lot more than just my driveway or front door and the people so far that know they are there have welcomed them. Below is an expanded view : But this is how the camera sees the world :
  8. 15 minutes was me being careful and not wanting to bugger things up. I did take my time and cleaned every port each time I done it.
  9. Apart from the issues with the valve retainer parts I've managed to get the valves in one block back in. Using a lapping tool I spent about 10 - 15 minutes a valve grinding the valve in place with rough and smooth valve paste. After the full block was done, I removed them all again in order and gave the whole thing a soak in wd40 before drying it all out with a combination of compressed air and brake cleaner.
  10. Yeh, Its the two small collets if that's what there called. I've gave in and bought a proper tool although I was hoping to have this done this weekend, now my build is delayed again. The first tool I bought is to actually take them out and put them back but its just not suited for the zed being a generic cheap tool.
  11. So how the hell did you compress the spring ? I'm at my wits end with this and ready to chuck the hole thing in the bin and give up. Been at it for 4 hours and only managed one and that was a fluke.
  12. Sorry, I'm not saying this tool is great, rather that's its not doing the job and I need advice on how to fix the issue.
  13. So got this tool kit and its been great so far but now i'm putting the valves back in its hopeless to get the keepers in. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251417186160?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Anybody else recommend a guaranteed tool or hack to get them in ?
  14. Have a good one Ian, all the best buddy.
  15. Had these on my last zed and I have a new set to fit on my current project. Never had an issue fitting them and nothing was under tension when they were fitted properly.
  16. Its the same sort of stuff used for fireproofing doors but not to be mixed up with plain draft excluder. I've bought something like that in the past to put fresh seals on the dash when i was refitting it, keeps it from creaking. Not sure i would use it on the lights as water can still get in at the joints, you would have to run it in one piece or overlap it in places.
  17. Not that much to do after its back. I've stripped and rebuilt an intereor in a day, biggest bug bear with me at the moment is getting the engine back together. I've a stock of new parts to fit all boxed and awaiting including 98 spec gearbox KSport Big Breaks Meistrer coilovers Lots of driftworks arms Lots of new engine pipes and hoses Worxs Emotion 19" Alloys JWT 500S Turbos (freshly rebuilt by midland turbos) Can't wait to fit all that.
  18. Hopefully before the AGM / Coventry event :)
  19. Doors and back bumper getting done too.
  20. Also got a few better pictures of the current detail of the purple that was done last week. Looking good and they have all still to be machine polished.
  21. Front bumper, bonnet, spoiler, belt covers and my mirror casings are now in ready for respray. First base coat is done but after speaking to the painter he is doing them again as he not too happy about the finish. But they look great to me.
  22. JaiKai replied to zerocooldel's topic in Events - UK
What time is the meet on at and where?
  23. Few hours hard graft today cleaning the rest of the pistons then I done a strip down and rebuild of all my lifters.
  24. I've had similar issues with a speedo convertor that previously worked. Just to check ensure the speedo convertor is powered from the 2 of the 4 cluster bolts rather than the two at the bottom of the cluster. The two at the bottom are for the backlights and are variable voltage so they wont power the unit properly. I discovered this after six months when someone dimmed down my cluster using the buttons on the right pod and my speedo went wonky. Soon as I put the cluster to full again using the controls it started working again.
