Came into the garage early this morning; now there is a big space where the zed used to sit. The countdown to the rebuild has started, but will likely be a week or so before I see any progress. All I can do now is concentrate on the engine build and some other wee stuff still to do.

Its an automatic ban button; but it can only be used once on any member you don't like. Try it. committee and mods are excluded of course.

Can we have a membership lottery if its unclaimed ?

I did look into it but the garage is a set size without really an option for it to be bigger without alot of costs. I did origianlly want a full 6m by 6m work unit built but the garden at the back is not square and i cant get a full 6m in. So we opted for a 5m by 6m with a 1/2 border and then a smaller addon hut at the left side. If we went for the full on border design i would have to gain more permissions each time i needed to work or treat the exterior. Also we have a 2.4m height restriction and bringing the boundary in a bit at the back keeps us well under it.

This is only the rough shape as more excavation is to be done. Type 1 layer then reinforcement rebar to be placed down too.

Finaly got a 1/2" spanner and the first turbo is fully off. Problem i've got now is the drivers side one is tighter and i've no room to move the spanner. I'll likely have to hoist the engine up again, remove the stand and try get at them with it off the stand.

Jobs nowhere near done, this is just an outline.

End of day one and the services pipes are laid and main ground work complete. Builders being builders; they completely put the pipes in the wrong place so they will be back tomorrow to dig a few of them up to get them repositioned into the proper places.

Not bad , i'm at work and being sneaky watching the progress.

Finaly the day arrives; ground work has started on the garage foundation.

Lots of snow or a large duvet?

Colour scheme on this build is staying the same as the last so I stuck the purple belt and cam covers on. Depends how they clean up I might use these or I was thinking about just stripping the cam covers that I had on this engine in the blast cabinet then getting them redone in a fresh purple paint. Few area on the paint i'm not happy with so these might get overhauled.

So here comes my next issue although I think it was likely just a bad seal on the rocker covers. On one side there was a fair amount of oil above the spark plugs, is this normal ? Everything else looks fairly clean.

A really rusty bolt, hopefully it comes off easily.

Back to my engine cleanup progress today and managed to get that snapped alan key head out. After trying many various things it came out using a bit of sparky tape stuck to my finger :) Managed to get the water pipes out too so I can give the whole area a clean. Looking at the area I thing there has been a previous water leak as many of the bolts are in bad shape. Also a rusty looking silicon has been used and I can see it on the water pump too.

Now turned on :)
