  1. feel for you mate... I know I would be devastated if our dog went.
  2. yes this is the issue... you can get cheap insurance but some factors apply.. one is limited mileage, another is UK model car.. lots of insurance companies don't want to touch JDM card. both my wife and I have JDM, her's is a Pejero ... we juust have to pay more. I also use mine as a daily and so run up about 15k miles p/a so stuck paying £550 ... :( (Oh i also have one speeding infringement, so that doesn't help)
  3. agreed, T bolts are a bit of a nightmare.. there isn't a lot of adjustment and so you have to be accurate with size section... best to order a few different ons at first and see what fits where.. there are also places that where because of their size they just wont fit where you want them. good luck.
  4. Welcome and yes, you will need help... Oh and get you're wallet ready... :)
  5. me too... so it's not driven a lot!!! lol...
  6. that is the same as my one and it's been fine...
  7. I know these lights are not to most taste... but if you do like them these ones seem in good condition with bolts to hold them on.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aftermarket-Rear-Lights-300zx-/290991421893?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43c070b9c5 could always be upgraded to leds at later date... current price is worth it...
  8. Torquay has been my home now for 20 years and I must admit that I have never seen The Hanging Gardens of Babylon or herds of wildebeest down there... however I do have a nice panoramic photo on my wall of Sydney including the opera house... :) Even though it is a very tourist orientated sea side town, not every restaurant or hotel is worth a visit and also that kind of makes most of the entertainment expensive. however if it floats your boat there are many walks around the cost with great views. I have spent the best part of the 20 years commuting to Cardiff and spending lots of nights away from home, luckily for me I've stayed at the same house the whole time and the current owner and I have become good friends. not possible for you as the locations change all the time, the only thing I could suggest would be take up a hobby that is easy to carry around .. or reading.. best of luck.. PS.. had I read this yesterday and not been working today I would have come out for a chat... don't see many Zed's or enthusiasts down there.. :)
  9. go into the conzult and check the box like in the usb set up guide... I can't remember where it is but it need to be selected.
  10. LOL.. too busy typing to see you'd fixed it... that is much the same as mine does it.. :)
  11. and this might also help.. http://www.clifford.co.uk/Clifford_ContactUs.html
  12. Mmmm, it seems that you do need the valet code to add a fob. It also looks like the alarm should be set to valet mode (not that I have ever done that with mine and it still seems to work OK) anyway i found this on the net, not sure if its of any use to you.... 1 - yes thouse 2 funny function buttons need to be conected its what controls the alarm manually depending on what key fob you have if its the old 4 button fob the valet code is set buy pressing the headlight and unlock button togeather if you have the 5 button remote new G5 Blue LED you have to press the clifford button at the bottom twice followed by the unlock button if not find someone with the clifford software for there pc and you can delete all the remotes and re addd the one you have if you have bought the alarm second hand and now conected it to your battery and it just keeps going off the origonal owner most lickley never put the alarm on valet mode before he/she disconected it so the only way to get it to work is with the valet code 2 - The other three bottons are for additions, do you know which alarm is fitted? as you shouild be able to download the instructions. With the fob in hand you can turn off the proximety sensors which is what is causing the alarm to bark at you when you clean it. Press and hold the bottom left button then press the lock/ unlock, the indicators should flash four times. This indicates the outer proximety is turned off, if you do the same again the indicators will flash four more times which indicates the internal proximity sensor is turned off good for leaving pets in the car. Try looking on Cliffords site Clifford (United Kingdom) - Owner's Guides.
  13. Poo... it could be that the alarm has lost contact with the fob... there is a code/format for setting them up. try unlocking the door with the key and entering the code on the alarm buttons. I'll have a look to see if I wrote down the instructions for adding fobs to the system.
  14. I've just had quick look but don't know enough about the FAST system to get any useful information on the engine or even know where to enter the engine serial number. :(
  15. well then as Jeff says... find the number and get someone to put it in the FAST system.
  16. and Jeff comes to the rescue again...:biggrin:
  17. I think you need to check all three fuse boxes first...
  18. As steams says, yes the ptu sends signals to different coils... but cleaning the connectors will ensure that they aren't the issue and is good practice.
  19. first point of call would be connectors on PTU & CAS... then injectors, coils, maf... ect..
  20. the bad bit about getting stuff from the US is if it has a problem you either have to send it back or even if they just send a replacement you might get stung for more VAT. so on top of shipping and tax you should also have insurance... however it is a bit of a lottery and not everything gets hit with tax... it depends on what the consignment papers say and who is working that day...
  21. I'll have to have a look at that.. I read a post on the Oz forum where they said that there was no check that could be done on the engine (by number).. so if it is possible it would be good to be able to post and clarify.
  22. all the best for the future to you and the family.. :)
  23. if he doesn't have them I have a set (of lenses) ready... will be able to send you pics on Saturday (I'm currently away from home) they will be the same as the ones on the guide I sent you.
