  1. how about finding some at a breakers... aside from that the type of rubber and its use makes it difficult to glue.. particularity since you haven't been very specific about the issue with yours.. :)
  2. agreed... when was the last service and have you done any PM on it... a good clean of all connectors and checking all vac lines is a good start.. good luck.
  3. I'd guess that each would have to be assess individually as the damage can be varied and also because of different response ... so if it is a mess and cracked then it's junk.. but if it was only a slight blow due to failed gasket and the block is clearly in good condition.. it might be work something to someone.. best to ask Jimmer (or Jeff)
  4. I'm no expert but it could be valve seals or rings... I'd say you need to get an expert to have a look at it first before spending a load of money. best of luck.
  5. and what colour smoke? is it only on idle? is there a smell? what maintenance have you done to the car? is it standard? are you loosing oil or water?
  6. be aware that Jap spec bumpers have different indicator, side lights and these inter-coolers will foul them... an adjustment/modification is required.
  7. yeah, it's almost always the rubber pipe that leaks and some of them are hard to get to, always best to check when the car is cold and under pressure (with the pump primed) Oh, and the nose is as good as the eye... :) good luck.

  9. LOL.. and money you will spend... :)
  10. it may just be that there is some moisture in there, you could try using a hair dryer to blow hot air in and clear/blow the moisture out (not too hot)... at least that way you would know if its leaking (i.e. if it comes back).

  13. LOL.. no idea, its not OEM... he must have fitted that himself.. there are a lot of fused for the lights, not only in the foot well but also in the engine bay.. the original 300zx lights are crap, you are better off putting in some HIDs since it already had a projector lens.. have a look in the tech section ... really worth doing..
  14. I'd say yes it you can confirm its the same... some have slight variations ... best to be sure (not a problem, just a waste of time).. :)

  17. yes the orange one (with the two pronged connector) - coolant temp sensor
  18. Hi, not sure if you know this but.... once you flood a 300zx they are a bitch to start... so be very careful (there are posts on how to resolve if it floods). secondly i should have been clear about the temp sender unit ... there are two of them, one send temp signals to the gauge (only) and the other one to the ecu for the cars running. So the second one is much more important to the running of the car and often go wrong, try unplugging it and see what happens (its the 2 prog unit). have you done a full PM on all the wires connectors, fuses, and hoses?
  19. I had a couple of mates with 3000GT... chocolate gear boxes :) but maybe they were just unlucky..
  20. Hi, one of the common issues with the Z starting or running bad is the temp sender unit (not the gauge one, the one that sends to the ecu). you can test it by using a Conzult or Ohm meter.. try unplugging it and see if that makes a difference. you can't go wrong by checking and cleaning every connector you can find... and this is a very good guide: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/922678/The-6-Ps-Proper-Preparation-Prevents-Piss-Poor-Performancegt.html best of luck.
