  1. PMSL!!!
  2. Hmm... water leak you say? Aren't I right in thinking that coolant temp is used in engine control? If so is you have a big air gap at your temp sensor this will be feeding incorrect temp data to the ECU and could mess up the engine handling... dunno  Anyone agree with me??? :)
  3. Plus the chaps at Surrey Rolling Road are very helpful when it comes to diagnosing any problems. :)
  4. The MAF is *vital* for calculating Air/Fuel ratio, and unplugging it will only make the engine run in an ultra-safe mode. What you want to do is try swapping it for a known good one, and see if the problem goes away. Have you done a diagnostic? Sounds like what-ever it is you should run the engine as little as possible... Mark
  5. Z Man- Please can you still watch it and tell me what the bit of music is that they keep playing between films??!! After all, that's why I started this thread in the first place! :D
  6. They were mainly "gound-breaking" and arty-farty than films the ones you'll watch with a slab of beer and a bunch of mates. That programme was a bit of a waste of 3 hours of my life really!
  7. Great photos... I just wish I was there!
  8. Although Apocalypse Now is No.1
  9. Unfortunately not, though Ridley Scott has had an entry with Alien... Just found the list in alphabetical order here... http://www.channel4sales.com/news/news-article.aspx?year=2006&id=77 Bit disappointing, mainly arty or meaningful rather than what I would call "enjoyable" :) Only seen 12 of them!
  10. Anyone else watching "50 films to see before you die" on C4??? What's the linking music (artist & title :) ) they usually use between films? I've heard it loads before but don't know what it is- bass-biased? Mark
  11. Aha. :) Hoping to do the same to mine- make sure you post up the finished product back on your car!
  12. Now that looks nice. Out of interest, how did you handle the I/C slats? Fill behind the bumper before removing the slats then sand, or did you take out the slats first and fill/fibreglass afterwards?
  13. I can't go because it's my girlfriend's birthday and she'd have killed me if I made other plans! Maybe next year...
  14. In maths... (too geeky?) A 2-digit number can be represented by digits a and b. So our initial number: x = 10a + b The sum of digits: y = a + b Our final number: z = x - y z = (10a + b) - (a + b) z = 10a + b - a - b z = 9a Therefore the final number is independent of b, and only dependent on a multiple of 9, hence wot people said before. Clever though. I was convinced it was magic for a while... :D
  15. It looks like the love-child of a Porsche and a Lambo! That said, I really like it. :D
  16. I had a similar problem with my desktop PC. The easiest way to recover it turned out to be to add my HD to my girlfriend's PC as a slave. Her PC said "ooo that disk's a bit fecked mate, let me sort it out for you... [grind, whirr] ...all sorted mate, there you go". Put it back in mine and it's been fine ever since. Bit more tricky with a laptop though, but you can get 2.5" to 3.5" converters to plug it into a desktop. See if anyone else has any bright ideas first though... Mark
  17. :hyper:  :nana2: Wahoo!!! :nana2:  :hyper: After a short delay her college have admitted they got it wrong, and they've awarded her with the 2:1 she deserved!!! She's chuffed to bits, as am I with her. On the beers/wine again tomorrow! :duffer: And she wasn't the only one they screwed up the results for, so my spreadsheet has been doing the rounds. :smash:
  18. Just trying to sort my weekends out. Out of interest, what's the plan for the day? (Start, finish time etc) How many definites do you have so far? Mark

    Hope it all goes well!
  20. Yep, providing the high beam goes out when you turn the side or head lights off. It's just a fuse, though I can't remmeber which one exactly. In the footwell panel.
  21. They're both excellent cars aimed at different audiences in different markets. For example, I don't think I could get my keyboard and amp in a MR2 with room for another 2 people, so I'll stick with the Zed for now :D

Now THAT looks like a totally mint UK-spec motor. Very nice! :)
  23. Mine's been fine in the hot weather too. That said, I can't argue with the physics that says power will have dropped- in the way I use my car it's simply not noticable.
