  1. Excellent! The Skyline looked so benign though- everyone else loked like they were having way much more fun :D
  2. Have to agree with you there matey :D
  3. gwaps- we usually get in for free, so if I do I'll keep an eye out for a UK pilot :) Actually, just remembered they keep the flight ready aircraft over the opposite side from the crowd-line so maybe not...
  4. Bit spotter-ish this, but hey... For 1 year, 11 months and 3 weeks every 2 years, not much happens in Farnborough. Then we have the airshow, and the place becomes one big car-park for a week. Working in a 2nd-storey office I get a pretty clear view over the airfield, which means I get to see all the flying displays including the pre-show practices. Twice this afternoon I've watched a Sukoi (Su-35?) do things that planes just shouldn't be able to do. The cobra, a tailslide, and this really weird thing where it climbs vertically but slowing, then just as it comes to a stop the pilot makes it flip backwards- it rotates through 540 degrees whilst apparently hanging in the air, before heading back ground-wards and pulling out. All very controlled and graceful.   Pilot must have balls of steel and the size of melons... Mark

Race at the lights? I don't know what you mean! :x: :slap: :D Been a few times, just not often recently. Trying to make amends now!
  6. Just had a thought today- Last Saturday, early in the morning you could have written date then time as follows... 8/7/6 5:43:21 :hyper: Small things... :)

Cool- I just wanted to know before re-arranging other stuff, so hopefully I'll be there :) Presumably it won't be as manic this time without JTuner being there?
  8. Ted, or anyone else- is it on the 18th this month? Mark
  9. a) Bloody hell that's just, well, bonkers, but fair play. b) Is it me or is that turbo a dyno-fitment only? Looks like a flat bonnet, albeit vented. c) What is it that goes pop??? A set-up like that, could cause a smidgen of a dent in the old wallet...
  10. Cheers Steve! :nana2: Preferably not the 5th... :)
  11. While you're there and if it hasn't been done already, it's a good idea to clean every connector you can find in the engine bay. A right pain in the bum, but slightly iffy connections can cause weird symptoms and it's worth doing anyway.
  12. Are you sure it's 1 cylinder down? Usual things to check are disconnecting and reconnecting spark plugs and injectors- the engine note should drop and probably get rougher each time you remove a good connection. When you remove the bad connection, there'll be no difference. Other than that, there's a whole host of things it might be (just one of the joys of our car) such as vacuum/boost leaks, O2 sensors and timing. I had what sounds like a very similar problem- it turned out to be the timing. Some days it would be fine, but others it might feel underpowered and others it was really rough, kangerooing all the time. But things would always smooth out under hard acceleration. HTH Mark
  13.   All hail group B. When men were men, and car designers went a bit mad but in a good way. I also liked this "related" clip... not sure if the poor old guy really knew what was going on... probably just out for his lunchtime stroll
  14. LOL The context you put it means I can't look at the dancing banana in the same way again! All of a sudden he looks a bit camp... I'd kind of looked on the F/TF as an ok car that just got the wrong image. So anyway I won't let the demise of the Rover empire influence her decision- and they look reasonable value now too. Cheers for links and thoughts. Keep 'em coming if anyone's got more :) Any general thoughts on reliability would be useful!
  15. The meet diary is filling up alarmingly quickly right now. One thing I REALLY don't want to miss if it happens this year is a Box Hill - Brighton drive! :smash:  Is one provisionally in the diary Cybernet/Steve? Mark
  16. Seem to be loads of meets springing up now- I keep saying I'll try to make them but sods law says I'll have to miss a couple! *but* I'll still try to make this one :D Mark
  17. I'm still trying to sort out my hol to Vietnam- once I know the dates I'll let you know whether or not I can make it- seem to be loading myself up with meets lol

burf2000's local meet- too close not to attend to that! lets drift's later local meet- if it's a bit later in August now I might be on my holiday but that aside I'll be there. :) Mark

Yep- dead easy to get to, decent amount of space for cars, BBQ, kick-about, whatever. I'll be up for it- probably push my car around to save petrol :D
  20. My girlfriend (not me you understand :) ) likes the look of an MG TF. Does anyone know what the future holds for spares for existing MG/Rovers? Ta, Mark
  21. I make it £540. Edit: damn! beaten to it!
  22. Oh, and you can get rock-bonuses for a short duration by lifting the guitar neck up, at which point you go mental on the screen and the crowd goes wild!
  23. Glad someone knows what I'm on about! :D (But can't you wack up the difficulty so your 6-year-old can't stretch across all the buttons?! That'll teach 'em) Guitar Hero on the PS2- kind of a guitar-equivalent to karaoke, but way, way better. You get a fake guitar controller (about 3/4 size) with buttons on the fret-board and a sprung bar to "pluck" on the body. You "play" along to well known songs (e.g. ZZ Top, Ozzy, etc) Notes rolldown the screen towards you- press the right buttons and "pluck" the thingy at the right time and the guitar section of the song plays- get it wrong and it goes silent or plays mis-hit "twang" noises. The Rock-ometer tells you how you're doing- play too bad and you get boo-ed off the stage. Play well and the crowd goes mental. Play with 2 guitars head-to-head. THE best post-pub game in the whole world ever! :D
