rear light conversion
I did exactly the same (needed a strip-light for the loft anyway!). I cut down the sides of the diffuser as much as possible so that it can flex enough, BUT leaving tabs in the middle, in similar places to the original diffuser. The insert of the outer cover will help press the left and right of new diffuser into place, and the tabs in the middle will push the middle bit out. No actual attachment was required. Also watch out for the one of the corners of the diffuser (inside-bottom I think... hee hee I just read that and it's funny  )- there's a little cut-out in the original which is to allow a tab from the outer cover to press into the main assembly. If you don't copy it, you may find you crack the diffuser. Mark

Re: Farnham, Farnborough, Camberley, Reading, Bracknell people
For anyone on the SC border of the SE region not keeping an eye on the SC meets (does that make sense?! :slap: ), one's being organised for the 19th Aug... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=76964

have a go....
Rhino, 27% will be higher than me. First thing I do will be to get an angle grinder and remove my horn, as it were. That's providing Black and Decker have made one that you can use without opposable thumbs...

Speedo
Badder- thread hijack noted ;) My guess is you've got a faulty km/mph converter box, but I've never used one so I can't be sure.

Speedo
Got your email too mate. I think I was wrong in what I said above- having recently helped another forum member with his clocks, I don't believe either of the potentiometers adjust the offset. What Big Marty posted is correct- if the speed is out by a constant amount, it's the needle position that's the problem. In terms of how to get the clocks out, that's here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=297744&postcount=3 Then it's a question of removing the needle and replacing it in the correct position. I've never done that so I can't offer any pointers! :( It's also worth looking closely at the needle as it is now to see if the previous person who removed it broke it in the process- if it's been glued back on to the spindle, I'd say your chances of getting it off without breaking it again are poor. I can still give you hand if you like? Mark

New forest & Burnin B'mouth.....
Neither really! I don't have side skirts, it's just the area below the swage line is a lighter shade of black ( :D ), plus I've got mud flaps. Bit of an optical illusion really, but I think it helps the look of the car's waist-line.

convertable z for sale
Erm, not much of a sales pitch though, and I quote... March 1994, very rare manual 5 speed, in Red, Cream leather, after market alloys and twin exhaust system. Only 37000 miles. Very rare car, will be sold with Mot and TAX "Twin exhaust system"?! Not very imaginitive!

New forest & Burnin B'mouth.....
Yep- nice surroundings, quiet area (till we turned up anyway) and they served a nice ice-cold pint of lager just when I needed it most (after 1.5 hours to do a 45 minute journey). :duffer: Aaaahhh that's better :)

New forest & Burnin B'mouth.....
They did look good- all 7 of us driving in in convoy was good too! :D I enjoyed it, not my normal thing admittedly but enjoyed it all the same :) (but I do reserve the right to take the piss out of *some* of the other cars there ;) ) Mark

Burnin Bmth Sunday 30TH July
LOL No, my fault Yampiedog- if my brain was on I would have taken the right turning! :) That escort and vectra crashing was hilarious. As were many of the chav-a-licious novas, clios and the like. It must be said, there were also some good motors there. Heavily face-lifted RX7, 2 classic escorts (rally-style), various 200sx's varying from stock to drift, 2 veeeeerrrry nice Skylines with bling-bling-bling under the bonnets. Cheers to Hellraiser for getting us in the arena- I like to think we added a little class to the proceedings :D Mark

Mini Meet In New Forest
Great to meet everyone today. Thanks Simon/Amazon for sorting the pub meet :) Good venue for meets, although their bar staff could be a bit more speedy! :) Guess that's only because it was lunchtime on a nice sunny day though. It was nice of everyone else at the pub to move their cars so we could get a nice line-up! :D

Sheared rad bleed screw valve
I've managed to over-tighten the rad bleed screw valve thingy and shear off the top. :( :slap: How the hell do I get the bottom bit out?! Obviously I don't want to do anything which would risk shedding debris into the coolant. The only thing I can think of is gluing a stick of some sort to the top and using that to twist it out. But knowing my luck I'll just glue the valve thread! Or maybe carefully cutting the top with a sharp knife, then twisting out with a screw-driver? Bright ideas greatfully appreciated! :) Cheers, Mark
