  1. IMHO, Epson are good but only if you use them regularly, or at least turn them off when you're not using them, which cleans the print heads. I know 3 sets of people who have now thrown them out as the print heads tend to get clogged up- neither changing the cartridge nor doing a head-clean helped. So I always go for HP as the print heads are built into the cartridges- this is why HP cartridges are more expensive, but you can solve any ink problem just by changing it. My tuppence... :)
  2. I like Morrisons- they're usually quieter than Asda or Tescos in my area. But they do tend to: a) Not have anything outside of normal groceries i.e. Celebration cards, BBQ stuff in summer, decent easter stuff, etc. b) Run out of bread quickly But they do have a tray of 8 flapjacks for 79p, and a pie counter. That's a place to buy them, not count them, lol. As long as they've got ingredients for a chilli and a few bottles of wine, I'll go there all the time! :)
  3. None of the girlies going to comment on that one?! ;)
  4. He could take her bowling- even if she's not left handed fingers left to right should be similar and you could estimate finger size from the appropriate finger hole in the ball she chooses...? Probably a bit rough-and-ready though... A few months before I popped the question, my now-fiance went into a jewellers to find out what size her finger was and let me know, "just-in-case"!
  5. I dunno- they've just cut holes everywhere suggesting they're very necessary, which in my book means they also look good! :D I'd have one...
  6. I love it too. Don't keep up with every episode, but when-ever I catch it I always end up in stitches :D
  7. Yep I had this, although in my case the clutch servo itself has failed. I just disconnected and blocked the servo vac pipe and live with the heavy clutch. Rargh.
  8. Come to Germany, Nurnberg to be precise, to the Crimbletide market, at which I proposed to my girlfriend and she said yes!!! :nana2: :duffer: :D :nana2:  On cloud 9, I am!
  9. IMHO, Sony Ericsson phones rock. Easy to use (intuitive interface), bluetooth reliable. I've only got the W800i (basically same as K750) and it takes pretty damn good (2M)pics, except in the dark where I imagine the K800 takes over. Is the K800 a 3 phone only though? Oh, and they're excellent mp3 players too. Got those nice squidge-in-the-ear earphones. Mmm, bassy...
  10. Blimey now that's good- if all roads were like Milbrook I'd save buckets!!! ;) Sounds like a good idea though- a load of Zeds hacking round at full wack. Presumably not cheap though. Are there restrictions on number of cars using the bowl at any point in time?
  11. Got my calendar- great quality pics, in terms of finish and subject. Nice to know all the mods done to each example too- a few potential shopping lists will come out of this little lot I'm sure! :) Mark
  12. Whoops I'd completely forgotten :slap: Just paid now. Humble apologies. :( Mark
  13. Yeah it was all very well behaved- I was lucky. Unfortunately I'll miss the Reading meet yet again- using up some of my remaining holiday of the year! Off tomorrow in fact, to Cuba for 10 days. Rum-a-rama :D STYS, Mark
  14. Drove over to Wales last Saturday, about a 300 mile round trip. Got 120 miles away from home on the M4 when the car started pulling left, getting worse over about a mile. Uh-oh, thought I. Then the vibration starts, pull over and sure enough the front nearside is totally flat, with the pressure marks from the rim down the motorway (see first pic). I unload my bike to get at the spare, jack and wheel brace... um, what wheel brace?! Oh fook I never put it back! :headvswal Quick call to the RAC, he'll be there in 30 mins. 15 mins later, they ring me back- he'll be there in 45 mins! He actually turned up on the hour, but no thanks to the RAC controllers- they sent him down an A road way off somewhere, anyway he found me. Then he couldn't find a socket slim enough to fit my wheels to get the nuts off! After much crashing around in his van he got one, swapped the wheels over. The inner wall had completely given way (see 2nd pic). Then I checked the spare pressure- only 25PSI. Could he pump it up a bit please? Nope, finding and plugging in the compressor was too much effort, cheerio he said. Could have argued the toss, but the next services were only a couple of miles away. Irresponsible of him though. Now I had no spare if anything else went, and I remembered I only had roadside assist- quick call upgraded me to recovery, but only from tomorrow. I'd have to risk the 150 mile return journey with the space saver at reduced cruising speed. Boring as hell, plus the drone was unbearable. But at least I made it, and got 25mpg overall :) On reflection I think it went wrong for 2 reasons: 1) I've been putting off fixing my suspension when I know I have a bad camber problem. Don't be stupid like me and leave it as the inner tread is obviously not visible and needs specific checking; in a couple of places it was worn down to the wire. 2) I don't check tyre pressures regularly! I'm used to thicker tyre walls where under-inflation is more obvious. I thought the tyres looked fine, but when I checked the other 3, 2 of them were seriously down as well. That probably accelerated the wearing. It wasn't a good weekend overall- my mates who I was off mountain biking with had their own problems. One nearly took the end of his finger off when he got it caught between the disk brake and frame with the wheel still moving (cut half-way through and broke the bone), another had the rear mech cable give out, and a third had a chain snap, the last 2 within 5 mins of setting off. Hope next weekend's better... Mark
  15. A colleague of mine built this a few years ago for his kids (did a production run of 6! edit- 6 cars, not 6 kids :) ). Being made from aluminium, it'll probably last longer than a real Landy! Anyway, it's now for sale if anyone wants it... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=003&item=130036929731&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 Mark
  16. scrawni- nope, you tube is blocked as well! :( Z32KING- excellent! That's a good one, cheers mate. :) Mark
  17. Don't know if anyone can help me- I need a video clip and/or a sound clip of a seal barking. It's for a work-related prank- my work blocks websites like Putfile, but if anyone has something suitable please can you let me know! (I've already been searching and can't find anything remotely useful- clips are typically promo or poor quality) Cheers, Mark
  18. I keep hearing things about the poor reliability o the K-series engine in the Loti though. Which might make the VX a better day-to-day car. And I actually prefer it to the Elise Series 2, thought I think the Series 1 looked the best of the lot of 'em :)
  19. Took part in an adventure race on Sunday (irrelevant, but sets the scene...) As I was waved in to the carpark, the marshall lent down and says "nice car mate". :D Waved in the Evo 7 behind me without batting an eyelid. Made me smile...
  20. Personally I find virtual instruments difficult to use, especially when you're after analogue sounds where tweakage is the key. That said, I'm actually an analogue-modelling fan, rather than real analogue. Fave bits of kit are my Korg Prophecy and Novation Nova. Though the Korg is a pig to programme- you need to know how to create the sound you're after before you start out, not intuitive. Powerful though. Good luck finding the Jupiter though! :) Nice bit of kit... Mark
  21. About 9am I think, heading towards Farnborough coming from Baron's Beemers. I was heading the other way and only just caught a glimpse through the metal railings. Looked stock, apart from multi-spoke alloys. Mark
  22. Cheers for doing a good job Steve, had some great events over the last few years  and good luck ZX Mad! :) Mark

  24. Not sure if this counts, but there is actually a guy at our work called Mike Hunt. I had to ring him one day. It was a very difficult moment for me...
