Took part in an adventure race on Sunday (irrelevant, but sets the scene...)

 

As I was waved in to the carpark, the marshall lent down and says "nice car mate". :D Waved in the Evo 7 behind me without batting an eyelid. :tongue:

theres two evo's by me and people dont look twice, people drool over my zed they do have a presance like no other

probabily cus evo's are vectras with plastic bits bolted on.

Exactly. Their fantastic mechanicals aside, Evos look like chaved up taxis with their horrid spoilers and ungainly bumpers. The newer ones look a little smoother, but if I'm going to have something fast and exotic, it's gotta be sleak and sexy...the Zed fits the bill.

Back in May (or June - can't remember exactly) I went to an Auto Italia show at the Motor Heritage Museum in Gaydon (ie Aston Martin's nursery & play ground ;))

 

Parking for Joe public was up the road from the museum at the Land Rover staff car park with a shuttle bus providing transportation to and from the museum. As I was slowly passing the entrance to the Museum complex the marshall waved me in and said I should park in the VIP parking next to the museum! "You can't drive a car like this and park it with all the numpties ..." his words (not mine) :)

the best comment made about my zed was last year my cousin got wed :nono: and had a ferrari 348 and the brakes went there were loads of people there looking at it and my zed when he said the ferrari was broke and they all said use the zed it looks as good as the ferrari :dance: made my day

Seriously though evo's are great machines but the description you gave above is definately not of a sports car.

Only thing that you should be able to get in a sports car

sorry mate u are sooo wrong there !! and im not biased cos i now have an evo but ive had alot of cars and zeds deffo seem the most hard work. but still look the nuts !! but unfortunately they are geting old now and you have to expect things to happen.

i can honestly say that the evo is the best car ive ever owened bar none , i used to own a zed and so did karlos g we both had good zeds ,but had bad luck with them to say the least "dont ask" but the evo is bullet proof its never let me down ,

off course it will never have the looks of the zed ,and if im honest thats the onlything about the zed i miss .

 

i still love them but would never own one again due to the fact once burned etc etc,

 

mine looks like karls as well early evo , and i for one respect the car for what it is fast family pratical car and only a 2 litre turbo but would embarase many a z even a tt , its not a challange its a fact , not having a dig just making a statement !!

do agree the evo is dated slightly , always will look so against a zed but we own early evos they are lighter than evo 4 onwards and as such the 1-3 are damb fast untill you drive won you wont ever know , and as for a driving experince you wont forget

I'm not knocking the evo, just voicing my opinion, been in a 6, and wasn't impressed, but i'm sure your right in what you say. Anyway Shhhh, thinking of a beamer!

its ok , we didnt want to start anything just we appreicate our cars as much as we did when we owned zeds , but weve moved on from zed thats all , dream of beamers which one may i ask

E46 cab anything 6 cyl, my 6 yr old daughter dont like the zed, too fast! So wont be trying an evo out! She likes pink, but i'm not going down that road lol
