olliezx
I bought my Nokia N90 purely due to the camera, photos are perfect. The new N92 is an upgraded version. They both have Carl Zeiss photo lenses. In fact i would sell you my N90 to buy an N92 if you are interested? :) (Bit of a gadget Freak!) Yampiedog
The Sony Ericsson K800i (Cybershot) has 3.2 megapixel camera.
friday
The Sony Ericsson K800i (Cybershot) has 3.2 megapixel camera. This is the ONLY camera phone on the market today worth getting. Bugger the Carl Zeiss lens schtick, this is 3.2MP, it has Cyber-Shot facility (with magic trickery it takes a series of photos starting before you press the "shutter" button as well as after)...BUT, more importantly, it has a proper Xenon Flash. Q. When do you most use a camera phone? A. When you're out having fun at night. In poor lighting condition. Do you see where I'm going with this? Buy the S.E.. it's what I advised my best friend to get and what I'll be getting now the limited edition version is available...;) Leigh. Daves_Zed
Got to agree with the SE, although I have the N80 as well (and it is a reasonable cam) a couple of guys at work have the SE and they are really good :D
scrawni
Question: how does it know you are going to take a picture, and can you trick it and not take one just to be a devil :p

Craig David
If you want it to record evidence at the scene of a car crash I don't think digital photos are admissable. Get a disposable camera. If you're after a camera phone, I have the Sony Ericsson 750i - great but without a proper flash bad in poor light conditions.
friday
and there's a james bond edition! Exactly the one I'm going for! :D ;)
Mark W
IMHO, Sony Ericsson phones rock. Easy to use (intuitive interface), bluetooth reliable. I've only got the W800i (basically same as K750) and it takes pretty damn good (2M)pics, except in the dark where I imagine the K800 takes over. Is the K800 a 3 phone only though? Oh, and they're excellent mp3 players too. Got those nice squidge-in-the-ear earphones. Mmm, bassy...
Justindorville
K800 all the way. I got one on the first day they came out and has been great. The camera is the best thing about it. If its good enough for 007 then its good enough for me!

jamesb4uk
Yup K800i here too. Got so many functions on the camera mode than i know how to use - the flash blinds poor unsuspecting buggers too lol. be carefull with the autofocus though - was trying to take pics of a Motorhead gig last weekend - ended up taking pictures of the smoke coming out of the smoke machines lol J
bantambunny
I've got the N80 and Carly has the K800i It's a pretty phone the k800i but i'm a bit worried shes had problems with it since the start, phonecalls not having sound etc. Meanwhile mine crashes randomly and needs charging every 2 days BUT mine also has wireless internet browsing and a radio/mp3 player which is damn useful especially camping or if you're in the house and you want to check your email/300zx.co.uk from the comfort of your own living room chair. I think the battery problem is down to me not charging it properly the first day i got it The sound on the the video recording is top notch, especially filming car engines, seems to ignore the wind and pick up on the engine note really well
ChrisC
I've got a Sony P990i which takes great pics but it's in desperate need of a software update to stop it crashing every 10 minutes. The 3rd update in about 2 months is due this week :) Mobile Review does some superb in depth reviews of phones but it's Russian so the english can be unusual sometimes LOL http://www.mobile-review.com/index-en.shtml The Nokia N93 is the best photo and camcorder quality video phone available but it is BIG. Some great sample pics here compared to the Nokia N80 and Sony K790/800: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-n93-cam-en.shtml Samsung D900 is a very nice slim 3MP phone: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/samsung-d900-en.shtml The Nokia N73 and N80 are good but N80 isn't autofocus. http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/mobilephones/0,39051199,39254927p,00.htm Sony K800: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-wilma-3-en.shtml

SRRAE
Or you could buy a disposible one with a flash for a fiver. It will be better quality than digital camera phones.
ChrisC
Chris - can you recommend any good apps for the P990 and where to get them from? Cheers, Dave. Plenty of stuff here: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/software/Sony_Ericsson_P990/ http://my-symbian.com/uiq3/software/index.php At the moment due to memory shortage problems that cause the phone to crash or be unable to open even basic apps the most uselfull program is "Swiss Manager Pro" it really improves the stability and has a good file manager built in. This might not be so essential after the major firmware update due this week via "Sony Update Service" available from Sony Ericsson's site. Good stuff to search for, mostly free: AgileMessenger - MSN Messenger/Yahoo/AOL etc http://www.agilemobile.com/downloads.html IM+ Another MSN/Yahoo client. Advanced Call Manager - Lets you block/accept calls according to schedules etc. Opera Mini Browser - Basic but faster, uses little memory and works with the flip closed. Mobipocket Reader - Read eBooks and RSS News feeds. Games: Frodo - Commodore 64 emulator Lemmings Oh no - More Lemmings Duke Nukem 3D - First person shooter like Doom S-Tris - Tetris type game. Lopan - Mah Jong/Shanghai game Atomic Vexed SudoX
