  1. What size are the factory front speakers? Are they 4x6 as well?
  2. They're not cowboys; as far as I know that's simply how it works. Just make sure you have a record of what it got to in km. You could always ask your import agent to send the km mileage (kilometerage! ) to you on headed paper- at least that way it looks professional! Mark
  3. True, but I want white dials! :hyper:
  4. Just a small point, but I find wma a lot better than mp3- generally you don't get the same level of compression artifacts, so you can have higher quality or more choons. Quality of mp3 @ 128kb/s = wma @ 96kb/s.
  5. I presume Jock meant swap the clocks! Jock- where did you get the ECU reblown? Or did you do it yourself? And how much were the clocks? (Compared with £100.03 for a new set of dials and a resistor :D )
  6. 'Kay- I've not converted my speedo yet, but I've read various posts about it; I'm aware of the (very sensible!) arguement to swap the speedo resistor rather than plug in a converter box which might confuse the ECU. My question  has anyone out there with the converter box experienced any problems? (Mainly steering/stability and fuelling I s'pose) Answers on a postcard...
  7. Ugly switch/tell-tale doesn't need to be the case- I've got a low-profile rocker with a small integral LED, mounted on the dial-side of the right-hand pod. It evidently got it through an MOT, and you'd hardly know it's there. (I'll probably forget myself, the first time it's foggy :-) ) Currently only have a (red) reverse light wired though. When I get a chance, I'll do the inner brake light conversion.
  8. Just had a thought- is it the done thing to wave/flash at 350Zs? Even if you do, would a 350 wave back at a Z32?! Anyone tried??!!
  9. Alrighty then! Cheers for the advice chaps. Probably going to be a few weeks before I progress on this, but I'll update the thread as and when. Or more likely, come crying for more help! Mark
  10. Plus the hissing was louder in the footwell than the engine bay. LOL Point taken on subscriptions! I will be putting my money where my mouth is when I get a free moment... :)
  11. I'm sure I need a new clutch booster. When the engine's running I get a nice hissing sound, most audible when my head's in the driver's footwell (while stationary! :p ). The hissing often stops at some point with the clutch partially or fully depressed, and the clutch itself behaves like it's assisted to roughly the biting point, and then unassisted beyond that. Plus the idling is all over the place, which I guess is symptomatic with a vacuum leak as I've read on similar threads. So I disconnected the vacuum pipe at the booster end and plugged it- no hiss, smooth idle. Firstly, are there any good places to get a new/recon booster? It seems they aren't cheap. (Haven't posted a "wanted" yet, but I will). Secondly, can you change it without draining the clutch hydraulics? Thirdly, do you have to dismantle all the clutch, brake, engine, etc and get it out the engine bay, or do you get to it through the footwell- I can't quite work it out from the online tech manual. :slap: Mark PS New to the world of Zeds  great website- every car should have one, but of course it wouldn't be as good because no car is as cool!
