  1. I've never even attempted to MIG weld before, some of that welding is Robert's handiwork (the good bits). :D It does feel solid though, after some seam sealer and underseal has been applied, it should look and be up to MOT standard (I hope).
  2. Cheers Mikey.............ach well, it's meant to a project car anyway (at least it is now) :D I take it that you moved the thread? Now everyone will see my poor attempts at welding
  3. Hi guys, As per the title, that's the first hole patched in the Zed :D:D Yes, I know it's a mess - but it's solid :D Many thanks to Robert for both the loan of the MIG and equipment and the tuition. Now for the sills :eek::eek: Regards to all - - - Andy
  4. Renewed subs via PayPal
  5. Hi there, welcome, My Zed is laid up too, I'm in the process of de-rusting the sills.
  6. Beer on a Monday! Oh, how the other half lives :D Cheers on the welder Robert, I'd better get out and buy some metal then! Regards - Andy
  7. That's very generous of you Jeff and I'll accept that fine offer  PM me with the cost and payment method required and I'll endeavour to get the Zed sorted even sooner :D Regards - Andy
  8. It would have to be a small cat as I've only got some disposable BBQs
  9. Thanks for the interest Jeff, it's the driver's seat but the rusty sills and floor are first to get sorted. Maybe once they're fixed.....
  10. Who needs a cat, three mouse traps for £1.49 - well worth the money :D
  11. I'm waiting until I catch some more, two mice for a family of five don't go very far :D
  12. It was funny when I found a car sponge in bits .........:D It was cute when I found that you had made a nest in my old wellie ............ But then you snacked on my Zed .................. For that, you had to die................... The traps are out and they're staying out!
  13. Here's a pic for you Neil. :)
  14. Hi Neil, good to see you're still alive and kicking :D I've had no problems at all with the car, apart from the bodywork. Once that's all sorted, I'm confident that It'll be around for a good while yet. :hyper: Regards - Andy
  15. Mine ain't broke either :) - - - It is however..................RUSTY! :(
  16. Thanks, at least now I know where to concentrate my efforts. Don't look too closely at your rusty bits, you may have to join this not too exclusive club. :)
  17. Yeah, as you say - all too familiar :( I'd already looked at the Ebay panels - thanks anyway. I was thinking of a sill return panel to start with. It'll save me trying to bend a piece of metal to the same shape as the rest of the sill :) Andy
  18. Thanks, I'm sure that I'll need it. :D
  19. Hi all, Ok, the Zed's MOT was due today but I knew that it would never pass with the state that the sills are in. After work, I had one of our MOT testers check it over........... It turns out that all he would have failed it on, would have been the bodywork - everything else is A-ok :D It appears that it's even had the rear brake pipes renewed prior to me buying it. Anyway, I started on the OSR sill tonight.............see the pics
  20. Thanks for the kind advice StellaZ, I want to do it myself (where possible), there's no urgency attached, so hopefully it'll be done properly. :)
  21. Thanks for that.........:) Have a piccy on me. Work started tonight, :smash: buying a cheap and cheerful angle grinder tomorrow. :D
  22. Hi all, The Zed will be up on axle stands for a while as I now have to sort out the rusty sills problem.:( Where's the best place to support the car? I've got the stands under the rear subframe front mountings and the front engine x-member. Any problems with this set up or any better suggestions on placement? Thanks in advance - Andy
  23. I wouldn't have expected a woman to stop and get out of her car that late at night. Too many weirdos out there to do so safely (yourself excluded of course).
  24. Oooops...my laddie just got a Blackberry 8900 Curve on contract :slap:
