Hi all, I was checking the oil and water on the Zed last night and noticed this small unconnected hose. It's at the back of the engine to the outside of the autobox dipstick and looks like a vacuum hose (see pic).......any ideas where it should attach to? Thanks in advance - Andy

That's the least of my worries, the car's a bit moth eaten underneath (if moths eat metal - that is). :(

Ok, I've put her up on stands and crawled underneath...............:eek: There's a bit of a leak from the autobox sump pan and that's blowing back over the exhausts (see photos) the engine sump and back of the block are both dry. I tightened up all the sump pan bolts (half to a full turn each - they were a bit slack) and dried off the area. Time will tell if I need to replace the pan gasket or not.

You have to get the nozzle in at the correct angle, it's just a matter of trial and error. :)

:eek: Autobox is working great apart from a small leak from the sump pan.

Ok guys and gals, a strange one this........ After a stretch of motorway driving today (not unduly fast I might add), I was sat in a queue at traffic lights in Edinburgh. The windows were open and I got a waft of what smelt very like freshly laid tar. This isn't the first time that this has happened and on both occasions there were no roadworks nearby. :confused: Clutching at straws but .....are the cats sooo hot that they're causing a reaction in the road surface whilst the Zed is stationary? Just use a press, it is the best method by far. I did mine a couple of months ago. :)
